It was a fun stream! I should really do more!

If I’m ever struggling I always come back to doing one or two things: having a scene about the story or having a character focussed scene. I ask myself what is most important to the story or character in this moment, then think about a scene in which I can find that out. Then just start asking questions!

Definitely failing. Not so sure about up...

Hey there! Thanks for watching. I took on the 43322 stats in my Starforged campaign but ultimate found it slightly too helpful. Starforged is more forgiving than Ironsworn so it wasn’t really necessary. I would recommend 43322 for solo Ironsworn though, as it can be brutal. I wouldn’t recommend extra assets or changing the moves, but just getting better at failing and using narrative consequences over mechanical penalties is what generally makes things easier.

I think I might start getting into LitM in real time, maybe streamed? As the rules drop I could look at them along with everyone and try and figure them out.

Hi there! There does appear to be a healthy 3rd party scene, that is very true but this video is about what to get started with and the common sense place to begin is what has been officially released. I sadly don't have time to vet the vast swathes of 3rd party content out there, but I am glad there are folk in the community who will recommend some though!

@@thebadspot Same, that's the one I'm most excited about. Urban settings are so hard to pull off, but I think the Ironsworn approach will be perfect for it.

He used the alternate stats given in the lodestar reference guide for "challenging" game difficulty (instead of the "perilous" difficulty which is the default). The stats are 4,3,3,2,2. I would definitely recommend going with those stats. Do not think even for a second that this would make the game easy and not fun. I am playing with those stats and my character is in danger every step of the way! Have fun!

He there! The 43322 array is from Lodestar and I am glad I started Archer on the road with it. However, I would say that this array is designed for Ironsworn, which is MUCH less forgiving. For the Sundered Isles run, Gideon has a 32221 stat array which is one I made up. That feels a bit more of an in between step. When I startedArcher's story in 2021, I was perhaps a little scarred by my experiences with Ironsowrn, but like I said, Starforged is way less harsh. I am glad I started Archer out at 43322, but if I did it all again, I wouldn't. I think I have just gotten better at failure!

@thetanmancan I think if it’s multiplayer, you’ll find 43322 very strong. In solo mode it’s a little less so because there is no one else to bail you out!

Modiphus started publishing Starforged in some areas. So it might be a rights issue

Last I checked Mophidius is selling it on their site, along with the spiral bound guidebook and the asset cards. It's been about a week since I checked. I don't know about how available it will be in game stores, that would depend on the shop. My local game store sells hardly anything from Mophidius, so your milage may vary.

See if Modiphius have some stock, on their website they are selling it in North America I believe.

Often for a weak hit I use the peril itself as the waypoint.

@xionkuriyama5697 yeah but how. I mean some times the narratives drive and its easy but sometimes i want to find an interesting waypoint and... No clue. I miss a "waypoint table" or something like that

Hey there! That is a great question. i have a half written video on this actually, that never really had enough in it to justify me making it. Waypoints can be tough, so I made sure to make the focus of a waypoint the character or the story. Often during my campaigns I will hit a waypoint and roll up some flavour details, but use the stop as an opportunity to explore what is going on with the characters or bring in some story elements. The Interludes section in Sundered Isles is also a wonderful thing to use at Waypoints! Hope that helps!

They are also a great way to play the game on the go. I had some very cool solo sessions while traveling - on a train, or waiting at an airport. A tablet or even a phone is all you need.

And Slow Knife, which is basically Count of Monte Cristo told from the perspective of a group of villains who ruined someone's life long time ago and are about to enter the Finding Out part of "fuck around and find out".

Slow Knife is on my list for 2025, it sounds delicious.
