The first time starting my freshly restored 1964 XLH Sportster. There were two prime kicks with the ignition off before the video began rolling, and this fresh rebuilt started on it's first ever "real" kick.

Hey I know I’m late to this post, but if you’re still out there, I’d like to know when does this gathering happen and when is the next one I’d like to go on it next time I have two Ironhead’s myself, and I have a channel that features them here on RUclips!!!

Our rides are only for Ironhead Sportsters (1957 - 1985).
I have watched a couple of these videos, and I enjoy the ride. BUT WTF, passing on the left .? First stop, fist would fly.
You would fight the guys you ride with? That's not cool.
Love the video, my old 63 iron head would take forever to start when everyone was around one or two kicks when I was alone 😂😂😂WTF y'all know what I'm talking about 👍 great video

Great video, I love the beginning with all the guys trying get the bikes kick started. I have a 1968 XLCH 9OO, i bought it brand new in Kewanee, Illinois from Herny and the famous Roger Rieman. I am still kick starting my bike and I am 76 years old. I know what it takes to get one of these going, but when you do, it is worth the work. It is in close to mint condition with 11,000 miles. The comments I get when I take the bike out are numerous. Every biker asks questions about it. In 68 I paid $1,850, including tax; it is worth way more now, but I will never sell it.
Love the tunes. And the ride. Classic stuff.

When I watch these I wish my 1980 XLH was sitting next to my 1983 FXWG. At least the Kick Starter came in Handy when my electric start gave out. Japan then Philippines, USN.

You can stop and fill it up, and then do 90 more. I did 1,000 in a weekend last summer, no problems. My butt can use a rest every hour or so anyway.

42 Horespower paint shaker that will rattle your teeth out over 55 mph .
Mine cruises along the highway pretty nicely at 65 mph. Also, not sure where you got 42 horsepower from? Factory rating is 55 horsepower.

It should be called the Sportster or original shovelhead gathering ironhead is a made-up term from some yahoo who was embarrassed about riding the "Mighty Sportster"

We leave as soon as all the bikes start ( seriously though they sound crisp, I'm jealous coz I need the polio button due to lack of starting technique).I had a bit of a chuckle at the petrol station scene, I remember being on a poker run a few years back and hearing 'those with Sportys or V rods better top up here.
Cool video, the music sucks though. If you are going to ride old sportsters, you need to play Steppinwolf, Jimmy Hendrix, the Doors and the Allman Brothers.
Those bands suck.
I wish you would do a highlight of each bike. It would be nice to see a little more of them.

it only smoked for a few seconds, this was the first startup on a freshly rebuilt engine.
