BIG POWER MACK PULLING HITACHI EX 1900, GROSS 180 TON
God bless you Freddie a 68 year old biggest Fan 👍
Perfect song for the video
Such a fine performance and song. I love the way the chorus comes in unexpectedly soon.
Great voice but basically a very good pub singer. No originality. I remember Freddie in the the seventies and eighties when he was being hailed as the next Irish messiah folk singer. Never happened.
Walked into the Baggot Inn in Dublin, 1979, a suburban kid trying to figure out the real world and watched Freddie play this. Many years later, in Sydney, still listening & still smiling at the memory of how beautifully you took this piece of poetry & changed my life.
Awesome, i never got to see him live, but i drive around Brisbane everyday and listen to this, its just perfect.
Awesome gear
J'ai eu la chance de le voir en concert à Bruxelles dans les années '90 (il était en première partie du groupe irlandais Patrick Street). Une belle découverte et j'avais acheté le cd avec cette chanson.
Saw Freddie White at the Trinity Ball, Slough library and so many other places. Loved his guitar playing which still drives me crazy trying to figure out how he played those songs. Still have his cassettes though!
Just an amazing Artist. I never felt Songs like he delivered them.
Not a song you furgent especially when the first time you hear it is at a Freddie White Concert circa 1983... amazing 🙏🙏
This is just great. His voice suits the song so well.
Hearing that sound every day, it wouldn’t be a job, it would be living a massive dream!! 👍💪👍💪
Fake and gay
You’re a tosser😂

Wow! I just learned of Freddie White. Love his moody guitar. Sorry it took so long to discover him.

Yes UCD 79 -80 , and Christy too . Pint Smithwicks 48p from memory
Beautiful.. 1st time I heard this was by Martin Simpson, who I love.. This is great too. Fantastic vocals
I think I like this better than Guy's original. Sorry Guy.
Miss Eco that's for sure, loved working with Joe Cummins. Company had balls to take on anything. Good pics there.
Love it, Your video,
Saw Freddie for the very first time in the Glentworth Hotel in Limerick in 1978. Used to go everytime he played the Belltable. Great voice and a fantastic live performer making the songs of others even better. I learned this by heart and it was my go to sing song piece !!! RIP Guy Clark and Freddie is still going strong.
UP CORK Freddie !
You in Sydney for a beer ?
Saw Freddie so many times when I was young...what a brilliant singer, guitarist. Every song a pure diamond!
Unreal .. .. genius ..
What a wonderful voice and sound ...look forward to hearing more...
Like both versions. Guy Clark wrote it and sang it in his style. To me Freddie's version is more vocally passionate and his musically blues version takes it to a different plane.
h, no.. the cover is not Do you Do .. not this song is not on the album..
Huh???
This song is not on the Do You Do album...
Fair enough. No quibble about the album, just a great version of the song.
awsum az bro..stay safe over there bro.
what album is that from.......
Do You Do
this song comes from a Freddie white album (vinyl) called 'Do you do' I have it, don't even ask, I would not part from it for stupid Money! love this guy from way back!
If you have Do You Do then you should know that this isn't on it! It's on the Live On Tour Album.
Are you fan of MHH
AH THE MEMORIES..
Brings me back to The Meeting Place on Dorset St. in 1980.
I was there too....great times...memories
still have the original vital Al umbrella called 'do you do'
+j whitehead should have real vinyl album
I have the guy Clarke album too, I still prefer Freddie version, great passion in this cork guy!
Absolutely. In my opinion Freddie's version is the definitive one. I love this ballad but Guy Clarke's original recording lacks what Freddie puts in.
hey was that jigy jig at the Darwin port
The first time I remember hearing the name "Guy Clark" was when Freddie announced it at a concert in Cork in 1979, before singing this song. Still my favorite version. RIP Guy Clark...............
Great, thanks! I had forgotten about Freddie White. i saw him in Cork twice in the late 70’s ... once was by accident when a supporing act couldn’t make it, and he stepped in last minute. He would come on with a towel around his neck to cope with the perspiration that his enthusiastic performance produced. I particularly loved this song.
Saw him him in Divers Bar Croshaven 1974 a nd 1982 Carlow - racing in the streets Springsteen- GOAT.

it is amazing how many songs that FW has made his own..
Made his own? Guy Clark wrote and performed this much better.
You have not listened.. I'm a HUGE Tom Waits fan.. But FW does a better version of Matha.. more depth pathos feeling.. FW is just a nice baritone or these songs..
I'm with-cha .. your so right .. it takes a special ear as you well know .. :-) great stuff.
Marc Juneau Everyone has different taste, I personally think Freddie does the best version of this song.
Sounds nothing like Adele, i cant hear any comparison.
This sounds allot like adele's new song "hello"
Many a night spent in Connollys of Leap in the 80's listening to the great Freddie White. What a fantastic voice,....memories!
Ann Burke O Donoghue heard him sing it in ballinasloe last night ! still as good as ever
I remember the great Connollys in leap too! really original place shame it's closed. the original owner is buried beside my brother in law Paddy Mc Dermott they were inseparable friends both with a great love of music R.I.P. both of them.
Ann Burke O Donoghue still miss Connollys pub too, holds special memories for me!
Thank you very much for posting this. This is the definitive version for me. . Great song and a fantastic performance by Freddie. . . . Much appreciated. . Go raibh mile maith agat!
Can someone please post the original studio version?. . Le do thoil. .
lovely stuff, not heard this for decades, i think this is from Freddies album ? i wish i still had it, pure class, thanks for posting.
J Armstrong Hi J - I still have this on vinyl- Live from 1978 if I remember rightly. As you said- pure class.
Yes, a wonderful version. I like that he is so heartfelt and emotional but keeps the tempo up. There are so many versions that drag the tempo
Used to sing Do You Do from start to finish to myself Special place for Freddie
Had a great summer with Freddie in Crosshaven ( in the Pirates Den ), Cork back in 1979, a real musical experience.
thank you for posting this song I think this is the best version too
