I refuse to use connecting elastics. I hate them. It let's the inserts pull away from the spine. You can buy that hairtie material in lengths or just get a Galen cover with many mounting elastics. Plus the cover gives slightly more overhang to the inserts

Very helpful commentary on pens and consistent with what I have heard from others. I am getting into the Hobonichi Cousin for the first time in 2024 and have been wondering what pens are best for it. You got good guidance on the Platinum Preppy. They are excellent beginner fountain pens and write better than many more expensive pens. Another great starter fountain pen is the Pilot Varsity.

love the weeks! the hon seems to be so popular and i’ll admit even i’m a bit curious. the cousin size is way too big for me and i’ve never completely filled an a6, so i’ll just be living vicariously through everyone else this year haha

I think the only difference between the Hon (people are pronouncing it as hone minus the sound of the e) is the cover itself is decorated so you don’t need to purchase a cover. Fantastic haul! 😍

Really good comparison video 👍, I appreciate that you tested different dot sizes and lines for both marker brands. I ultimately decided to go with the Zig ones because I prefer a thinner writing tip and because the Ohuhu set available on local Amazon included five metallic colours I wouldn't use. I hope these finally work, I previously bought two sets of Zig markers with only the dot tip and the colours were so light they were almost invisible even on snow-white paper. 😠

Good review! I've also noticed that Sarasa Dry doesen't dry as fast as I thought i should. Can't use the 05. Sarasa Dry either because it starts to bleed through. Maybe because I apply a lot of preassure when I write?

i have the same experience with Sarasa Dry on tomoe river paper though. It always smudges.

I never used this pen before _ use the sarasa clip and fountain pens and got my order and tried this pen. I do not like it! It's so faint and scratchy! Will you have video of you using this new pen?? Maybe I got a bad one. I bought multiple refills of ink too because I saw how much people like this pen. Maybe I am too used to fountain pen?? (I use the lower end beginner ones)
