three nerds talk about aim for 1 hour and 22 minutes
feel free to put any questions you'd like us to answer in the next one in the comments! I don't think any of us are super certain of the direction we'd like to take this podcast in so we r open to suggestions c:
also sorry for the desynced discord overlay at the end, this was 2 recording sessions and i forgot to sync it up again and rerendering and uploading would take like 5 hours LOL
0:00 who are these nerds?
3:28 how did you all get into aim training?
11:23 how has the public perception of aim training's effectiveness has changed?
12:35 why aim training can feel intimidating to get into (new player experience)
15:48 how did viscose get into aim training?

    Hey Viscose, I have a question for you. As someone who struggles to aim smoothly, not because it’s a smoothness issue, but it’s due to me trying to predict direction changes. What advice would you give for this particular issue? I’ve tried using the method where I consciously make the effort to not predict and track smoothly, but I can’t seem to do it. Are there any scenarios that would help get rid of this issue? Would control tracking scenarios help? Thanks!

    I rarely ever leave comments online but I've been really enjoying the content, wanted to do my own little answers of some of the questions for fun and possible insight. 1. I think a mix of you and a cod player called Strahfe got me into aim training, been a big inspiration cause I've never actively tried to improve specific parts of my aim and it's been fun so far. 2. I've not used kovaak's yet but with aimlabs I really enjoy the voltaic benchmarks Angleshot, SmoothSwitch, SteadyTrack, ControlTrack, and PopShot cause my dynamic clicking needs work. 3. Biggest impact on aim for me, had to be mouse switch from a G403 to a Logitech superlight, the weight and size decrease made flicking and tracking easier, but I feel I lost some stopping power because the weight is lighter so at first I would overflick or underflick a lot. Now I just need to change out my decade old 30 dollar 86CM mousepad for something smoother. 4. I like orange juice and I prefer crunchy cookies on their own, but soft cookies with milk since it absorbs into the cookie better when soft. 5. I like both wired or wireless mice, my gripe with wired was not having a bungie and my G403 cable would get caught between my desk and the wall sometimes. 6. I like mixing 30mins to a hour of aimlabs then play shooters when I feel like, I used to play Osu like 6 hours a day so putting in time to practice aim feels the same to me. Aim trainers at current to me just feel like I'm aiming for scores and fun rather than to be competitive. Like the voltaic benchmarks gave me a goal to aim for with climbable difficulty and multiple skills I need to learn to advance, These skills transfer to other games but aim training takes away the stress of a Battle royale for instance and just lets me relax with music and go for a new high score. 7. Matty aim training on Wii controls when? 8. Translating my aimtraining into games was hard at first, cause it doesn't prepare you for things like recoil control/Smoothing, and for any Modern warfare players the Visual recoil of course (less you max out all attachments into Firing Aim Stability for smooth gunplay). The ability is there but new challenges come with each game and each game is different, That's why you can't be a god at aim trainers, or even one game in general and have it instantly make you a god at another game. A Global elite in CSGO isn't going to become a Predator in apex overnight, and these were things that I struggled with at first. I was performing well in the training but I neglected learning the mechanics of the games I actually wanted to be good at, since then I've put a even time between the training and actually playing and feel a lot more comfortable with my gunplay between games, It makes the aim training transfer over between games more smoothly now and I feel a lot more improvement now then when I put majority of my time into the aim training. 9. I've never seen the FlickStick before but that sounds really cool, I have seen Gyro and there is a apex player I've seen utilize it really well, they're called Extesyy and it's awesome to see Gyro used and wish more players would try it out. But for aim assist, I came from console and even though now my aim on the roller is horrible after not touching it for over a decade. The small time that I've tried now has me feeling like it's for sure stronger than it was in the old MW3 and Black ops 1/2 days. But still I don't want to see it nerfed to the ground, I agree that the problem to me has never been how strong it is, just that it gives a instant reaction to any movement. Like trying to track a Horizon in apex using Uplift, They might not 100% accuracy beam them but the controller player will have a easier time since the M&K player has to predict where the Horizon strafes too. It leaves less room for counter play than is desired and if there was a small delay in the aim assist kicking in it would be interesting to see. Would put a bigger gap between good controller players and better controller players, it'd just be a learning curve but some players might like the challenge. I don't believe I have any question of my own, Just wish a good day to everyone and I'm gonna keep a lookout for the next live stream o/

    just as a tip, honestly I think the thumbnail is limiting your views. You should put something a bit more eye catching

    • @pinguefy

      What would you suggest?

    • @Eliamaniac
      @Eliamaniac День назад

      @@pinguefy currently 70% of the thumbnail is like wood texture of a low-poly environment. You should use a colorful or high-contrast image. For the text you could use a funny excerpt from the video, like something that would be funny out of context. Alternatively you could use recognizable images such as the rank icons of cs and val. The title and thumbnail of a video should be given a lot of thought, and I didn't even watch the full video so I can't say that much, just that the video has more potential. If you want an example, the stream clippers (hololive, etc.) do everything I just said: beautiful imagery, high-contrast or colorful, funny or interesting quote. Veritasium has a whole video on the importance of the title and the thumbnail, and you can see successful youtubers often test multiple ones to see how the algorithms react. What if you called your video 'Masterclass on Aim'? What if you featured your avatars with interesting quotes using a high-contrast font for the thumbnail? Unfortunately the game is all about provoking FOMO too. You have to communicate that you have information the viewer might need. Good night

    • @pinguefy

      @@Eliamaniac i generally agree with your ideas about clickbait and thumbnails, and i'd say both viscose and i are pretty good at creating appealing thumbnails/titles for getting people interested in extremely niche concepts, however standard clickbait design can only take you so far. wrthcrw's coaching channel or the recent vids on my second channel are good examples of this: strong title/thumbnail game and useful info within the videos, but they are still mostly raw vods at the end of the day. they lack the potential to go viral compared to the edited content on our mains. conceptually, this video also lacks that viral potential for the same reasons. it's too niche, not edited for brevity/catchiness, and ultimately low effort content. it has a target audience of people who will love it: people within the aim community who are fans of any of us three and/or our chemistry, or enjoy overthinking aim to this abnormal degree (usually kovaaks players). because of that, the thumbnail is just the three people in the video + our pfps put on bots from a known kovaaks scenario (recognizable images!). the kind of thing that appeals to said target audience. in the future we will likely title our videos based on the most interesting question we answer within the video, but there are anomalies in the yt algorithm that break out of the "big content creator" formula that are worth making observations about too. it's especially true if you want to use the yt algorithm for smaller channels or nonstandard content. this video has a similar clickbait style to the videos "talking about pl_badwater for 12 hours" or "string theory lied to us and now science communication is hard." understated, but ridiculous in concept, and a good fit for this kind of long winded unedited content. thanks for taking the time to write this up ^^

    This is obviously 1 in maybe a million chance, but people with good setups and flicks should try out tiered obbies in Roblox. You can use high fps but usually beating a tiered obby you use 60 FPS. It is easier access to hard or easy obbies that arent complicated if you have checkpoints/noclip. I don't mention JTOH cause people already know what it is. But u need to find peoples creations/games urself to find harder towers.
