Carlos Santana is lead guitar player & brought this vibe to the world, Marvellous Marcus Malone on bongas ( RIP he passed a couple of years age), Greg Rollie on keyboards (later played with Journey), the 19 yr old drummer Michael Shrieve had only been with Santana & this was his first big gig & this edited/cut version CUT 😡most of his amazing drum 🥁 solo - which is a huge part of Original video. If people want to see greatness then watch original unedited videos… Michael Shreive was outstanding.

Reaction videos ge it wrong. You can't just listen to one song from this album. As good as it is, you should take the album in it's entirety, not in pieces. It is meant to be taken as one, long, beautiful piece of music, not little disjointed pieces. I had an uncle who, after buying a new car, stuck a cassette tape of this album in the player and never took it out, he just played it over and over when he drove. I, personally, me, I made over 30,000 copies of this album on 8-track tape, and I won my company a contract with CBS records for the machines I used to accomplish that feat. I was later told that CBS never achieved even half of the production I got out of those machines. The engineer said that, by having me run the machines, with my affinity for them, it was not a fair trial run.

At their peak, they were THE BAND!! They were Mega Stars in the 70’s! At one point, they held 5 of the top songs in the charts at the same time with songs written by them and/or sung by them. They had 6 consecutive #1 songs in a row! They were HUGH!

You're asking how can someone go in the studio and record something like that? For the tour, the band would open with the complete 43 minute piece, expanded with a few Pythonesque comic bits thrown for a laugh. At one point, a phone rings in the middle of "Part 1" and Anderson stops to answer it (it was Mike Nelson from Sea Hunt looking to borrow an extra "Aqualung..." wink-wink, nudge-nudge). At the conclusion of the full song, and the audience was applauding, Anderson then said the immortal line, "And now for our SECOND number if the evening..." Brought the house down. They then played more conventional length songs for another 60-90 minutes. After the final encore, the phone rang again. Anderson ran back to answer it, then holds it up to the audience, and says, "It's for you..." Blackout.

Take it as a whole and then try to pay particular attention to what each individual player is doing throughout the piece. In a way, it is like they are all playing solos at the same time which is why it sounds like your mind is being blown, one could say attacked. Then it all comes together in harmony and sad introspection, just like one would expect a battle to be played out and eventually end.

They weren't expecting to play but another band didn't show up and they were told they were up next to play and they were terrified they might screw up being high but they gave it their best shot and they ended up being the best band. Can you imagine playing for 1/2 million people doing acid?

Glad to watch another person get interested in this band! This was from their 2017 Androgynos tour, a 2 day arena show in Tokyo with another band called PIERROT. They’re doing another 2 Androgynos shows this October. If you’re serious about coming to Japan, I’d definitely recommend getting tickets. I’m absolutely going because there’s no way I’ll miss another performance like this.

The "Soon" ending was played at my best friend's funeral a few years ago. It was his favourite piece of music. I didn't know it was going to be played. I was in pieces at the graveside...

As a fan of this band, it's a joy to see someone fall in love with this band. So pure reaction. One day they blew my roof off too and sunk into my very heart, and they do not diligently continue to do this to this day. Personally, in my opinion, Dir En Grey is the best thing that has ever happened to music. I'm a music lover and I love a lot of other music with all my heart, but these guys...they turn me inside out, get to the very core and make me feel something incredible. Their music makes me feel alive. I watched your reaction with a big smile from ear to ear, singing along the way. This song, this performance, every time I see and hear it, touches me to the depths of my soul and gives me goosebumps. And being in person at their concert is so exciting that you forget how to breathe. Especially if you understand what this song is about. I sincerely hope that you will take the time to listen to or watch other songs of this band. They are incredible. Thank you so much for your videos!
