Hi Warren
@@stevenmitchell5319 hi steven, how are you doing?
I like your playing and style(nice clothing always)!
@@wai.y thanks lol
Really nice tone here. I have a G&L with MDF and struggling to get a good jazz tone. Its too bright or too muffled. You have a great sound here... must be me! :)
@@richguitarucci3193 thank you. I did modify guitar with fender locking tuners and medium jumbo stainless steel frets. I like the MFD pickups for jazz but yes with teles its sometimes tricky to get the right tone. I notice one tele that sounds too bright at home is perfect on club dates. So there are a lot of variables, because mfd more midrange than standard tele pickups I thought the SS frets frets which are a bit brighter would match up well. It’s a 2004 guitar model which was already good before upgrades but is now one of my better teles for jazx
@warrengreig5556 thanks. I hadn't thought about the environment. I'll give it a try. Appreciate the reply
This is very helpful to me - thanks so much, Warren!!
Glad it was helpful!
Did you swap pickups to a Kent Armstrong? Nice playing
@@lsmith869 no kept the original pickups
@@lsmith869 thank you
Hey Warren - sounds great - you still playing this guitar? Any good ? Im considering getting one for jazz and gettin new pick ups in it
Yes. The pickup upgrade makes big difference. Good luck!
What string gauge u using on it?
@@qual9519 10 to 46 I think, usually use nickel sound.
Great playing and sound ! Could you tell me what is the cab and the speaker ? Thanks !
Thank you. I used quilter tc 10TC. Celestion TF1018 speaker, 100 watts, 8 ohms. Usually I use 101 Reverb quilter head with this speaker. For gigs I used DV mark 150 watt amp with the mach 3 head.
@@warrengreig5556 Thank you so much Warren !👍
Awesome as always!! Big like!!
Thanks!!
Congratulations for your guitar playing ! The combination of the Quilter and the Swamp Thang speaker looks like it sounds really good! Do you recommend this speaker for jazz without the sound being too dark (like an Eminence Beta for example)? (Sorry for my bad english...)
Thanks. First gig with that guitar like the classic 57 pickups as well
I like the sound of the swamp thing. I have a few quilters, this one I put together my own speaker cab and it matched up with the amp head very well. I don’t find it too dark. I also use 101 reverb with the quilter 10c blockdock which is great for jazz. The quilter solid states and a nice singing that I found before I only got off tube amps.
@@warrengreig5556 Thank you very much for your response, it’s very nice. I also have several Quilter amps that I find very good for jazz, I also have a Blockdock 10 and I am looking for a speaker to put in a Fender cabinet which is currently empty Thank you again and congratulations for your guitar playing
Super playing and tones!
Thank you!
Replacing the PU with Seth Lover pickups is a good idea. Thank you for being helpful!!!!!
Good luck. Are you getting them or already installed ?
I'm looking for a small sized guitar, so I think the 339 would be a good choice. I like jazz, so I will refer to you for PU replacement. thank you!!!!!!!
@@yuan_yuan275 good luck!
Such a great tone and playing! I love it!
Thank you Joao!
NICE, WISH i COULD JAZZ UP LIKE THAT.
Thanks, still working on it ….
sweet playing :)
Thank you
This is the kind of guitar stuff I love the most. No fancy studio gimmicks or nonsense. Just on the spot guitar playing! Those Yosemite pups sound great. Clear, warm and precise. I put a set in my 2007 Highway 1 this week. Awesome.
Thank you. I did change the Pickups’s later to MJS customs that were a bit more vintage spec. Guitar nice in that it has rosewood fingerboard and jumbo frets
A real player🥳🥳🥳🥳
Thank you
THANKS, WARREN!
Sound good
Thank you!
Sweet as molasses.
Thanks James!
Thanks James
I can’t seen to find one anywhere…Awesome playing and guitar.
Thank you Zach. This one is the cheaper version but has same pickups as more expensive models. Classic 57 humbuckers. Really like the guitar very comfortable to play.
Nice sound with great playing👍👍🎸🎸
Thanks. Bit of empty room reverb going on lol
Could hv been rosewood fretboard mann Awesome play by the way.
I have rosewood teles. Thought I’d try something different
Lush chords / phrasing with tasty soloing.
Thank you!
Oh yeah! Lovely phrasing and amazing tone Warren! So jealous of your Sadowsky 😍
Thanks. It’s a great guitar
Great playing , thanks
Thank you!
Great sounding guitar, great playing 🙏🏻 Thanks.
Thank you
Sounding good Warren!
Thanks Steve, all the best for the season.
brilliant video and I love your improvs. I'm bidding on a coupe so fingers crossed. What method/scale are you using to play so fluently and articulately. Im trying to teach myself jazz. Appreciated.
Thanks. Good getting the coupe. Haven’t heard this in a while, it’s a blues progression. On this one i playing blues scale, chromatically, major scales with chromatic passing tones etc. for fluidity not picking every note, slides, hammer ons and pull offs.
Great playing & guitar sound my friend!. This is one of the best guitar for jazz!!
Thank you. Yes, the sadowsky is great, pretty much hollow except for mini block under the bridge.
@@warrengreig5556 Awesome!!

Very nice jam!! Really enjoyed it guys!!. Cheers!.
Thank you
wow, nice playing. I would have guessed this was a semi or full hollowbody. How are you getting such a nice woody tone?
Thank you. This one is a 1998 G & L asat guitar, leo fender last company. Good jazz sound as the pickups were his last innovation mfd pickups, more Mids than tele single sort of p90 type tone.
Took that song to some amazing places...really dig that groove ...The "Drifter loves it"
Thank you!
Tele forever!
Nice.
Thank you
Excellent, Warren!!
Thank you Rick!
Very nice👌
Thank you!
Very nice playing👍👍 Tele definetely great for jazz!!. Cheers!!
Thank you.
This is the genre that I love. Great job Sir. Thank you.
Thank you Tim!
@@warrengreig5556 You're very welcome. I was mostly a rock player, but I do like beatnik style jazz a lot. I've been trying to bring that back. Your style fits that sound. If get a chance, check out my beatnik song IT'S JUST COOL. I think you might like it. Peace bro. You're great.

@@warrengreig5556 You're welcome.
@@warrengreig5556 I just saw read that you made that Partscaster. Great sound / great touch on your part. What PuPs?
Thank you, although I picked the parts my guitar tech put it together for me. Bridge noiseless zexcoil, neck fender 64 pure vintage single that I’m using on this track.
@@warrengreig5556 Yeah, I don't trust my skills to modify my Tele either, but I might have to, because the nearest luthier is hours away, and he's booked solid.
Great playing & sound👍👍🎸🎸. Seth lover is a great pickup, love the sound. Cheers.
Thanks. Huge upgrade on stock pickups
@@warrengreig5556Did you find out a big differences between Seth & stocks? Thanks
@@jazzydog yes, stock less clarity articulate and muddy sounding to my ear. By contrast SD Seth Lovers better highs and singing quality
@@warrengreig5556 Awesome thanks😀
@@warrengreig5556 I have Seth Lovers in a LP and yes, they're as good as many and better than most. I also have a set of Antiquity humbuckers in a Tele. The Lovers sound like a new set of PAFs and the Antiquities sound like a 50 year old set of PAFs. Both are worth the money and less expensive than many others.
