She did better than me first time 😅 but the problem is not save around these people
@@thabetalmazyad Thanks so much for the kind words! This was her third time out, and I thought she did great. It’ll definitely be more enjoyable next time when it’s less crowded. You’re right-it can be nerve-racking to have so many people zooming by while learning, but she handled it really well!
I WAS THEREEEE
so phylosophic; what am i, i dont know
Like the falling leaf, we’re learning to flow with gravity-not to fight it, but to descend in harmony with it. The butterfly just adds flair!
YEEEESSSS she did soo good keep going
Lets go little ripper!
Yippie
The one and only @@LittleRipper303!
Actually doesn’t look too crowded
@@biggkoz You’re right, crowding wasn’t too bad! It was a fantastic opening day!
Yeah, and this is Peak 8, the mother of all crowded areas.
@@Andrew-kk2ry I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled up!
Best day man, i wish you the best conditions
As a person living in the french alpes, i am SO JEALOUS RIGHT NOW
Ah, the French Alps! I’m jealous of your mountains! Cheers from Keystone! Happy shredding!
I'm 23 - went skiing for the first time this year w my girlfriend's family and I spent the entire first day in this area. Awesome spot to learn (and fall)
@@PoBoysPod It’s a lot of fun over there, the chair is not too intimidating for beginners, and it’s a great spot to learn right there on top of the mountain!
Oh yuh
❤❤❤
Woo hoo
Cool for beginners.
I went too it was soo funnm
I wanted to go so bad
@@Everyday_IceCreamYT I wish that you could have gone! We could only get two tickets and there are four of us so we had a tough decision to make.
I will sub to you and I hope y’all are ok
When did this happen? Glad yall okay.
@@Worm-q1g Thanks for your concern! It was last Saturday. The lighting was actually terrifying but we unfortunately didn’t really capture any good video of that 🫤
Wow, that is very beautiful! 🤩
This is not Bergman Bowl but Elk run. The other comments are right on, you ski way too close to several other less skilled skiers in this video for no reason. In every case there is room for you to give them more space. Those skiers have the right of way. The last straw is when you blow over the blind hill at 30+. If a snowboarder was sitting there at least one of you would be dead. Take some lessons and learn to turn. It's much harder to ski slow and in control.
Elk Run is on The Outback, no? I’m always eager to learn more. 10 Mile featured here goes around the edge of Bergman Bowl to the Timber Ridge lodge and used to be the path the snowcat took to transport folks to the top before they opened the lift this year. I did cut off onto Quandary at the end there for easy access to the Bergman Express chair lift though. Highly recommend.
Does look like fun on a green/beginner trail. You're speed never really got "fast" and out of control. Still you managed to make a HUGE mistake around 1:51. No way you should be ANYWHERE near that other skier. Think about editing out that type of content the next time you want to post a cruise video.
Thanks for taking the time to point this out! I completely agree with this! I'll go back over the video and consider the close encounter you've mentioned. While it is not fast skiing per se, it is fast for me and a good milestone marker for my progress. Thanks again for pointing out the close call - More lately I've really been focusing on allowing my fellow skiers more room on the mountain and improving my self-awareness in general. Edit, You're right; the camera angle might have exaggerated the severity of the close encounter at 1:51, but I should have edited it out to at least not look so bad. More recently I really have been more intentionally mindful of giving everyone ample space while I'm zooming around up there on the slopes. Your observation is a great reminder for me to continue improving my awareness and actions while skiing. I appreciate your feedback!
@@ezripper Thanks for the quick reply. The closeness.... happens to us all! And is more common when there are "less skilled" riders out there... sometimes people do unexpected things. The 1:51 type encounter can be easily avoided if you had gone "behind". It's what I taught my kids and now grand kids. Timing your passes so they are always behind is a critical learned skill and once it becomes standard operating procedure, your enjoyment level goes way up! (not necessarily to chide you; more to educate all your other viewers.)
@@LAXtimmons That’s a great way to look at it - thanks for sharing!
👎🏿
Smooth operator
Great video! I would like to point out that Frenchman is only a black for the first quarter mile or so, and then is considered a blue. The top section was redesignated several years ago due to a serious injury sustained on the right turn at the 1:00 mark.
Thanks, I didn’t realize the history there. The fact that it’s groomed and only starts out black before going blue helped give me the confidence I needed to even try it. It’s a fun run to be sure!
@@ezripperI was in the same boat recently, it’s a great run for that transition period. If Richter and Lower Go Devil are freshly groomed off the Peru chair, that’s a full black line that is super doable if you’re comfortable on most groomed blues. Looks intimidating from the base, but in good conditions, I’d go for it haha
@@kalen1702 Thanks! I was not yet aware of those and I’m always looking for more trails to progress and practice! Diamondback is another one I got my eye on!
@@ezripper I just did diamondback Wednesday and it does get a little icy on the long final decent. It is steeper than Lower Go Devil and Richter, but not a ton. Starfire on North Peak is also a good one when it’s not icy and is groomed daily. The final 50m are very steep, but doable for a newbie to blacks. It seems we’re basically at the same level haha
@@kalen1702 I’ve got a Starfire video on deck; that one got a little icy on the final decent too but I survived! It’s a little intense for me but it’s easier early in the day while I’m still fresh. Good stuff, thanks for the comments!! It’s a fun level to be at, trying black groomers. The blue moguls are honestly more challenging … but black moguls, no way, not yet lol
Too cool for summer school
FYI oh bob on Outback is a good place to practice moguls if there is enough snow. not steep but can be dangerous to your skis with not enough snow. I will bail through the trees onto the main run if that last face under the lift is not well covered. Under Montezuma Express would be the other good practice area. Personally I found Keystone to not be a great place to learn bump skiing.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll be sure and explore out that way - it’s amazing how the moguls still manage to surprise me and put me on my ass when I’m least expecting it lol
@@ezripper two tips that might help. apologize in advance if this already obvious to you. 1) the ideal mogul form is for your legs to be going up and down and your upper body to be not going up and down. So as you go up the mogul slope, pull your legs UP relative to your waist to absorb the bump. try not to bend at the waist. 2) At the peak of the bump, think about using your toes to push your ski tips down into the trough. you want to get your weight forward but again by not bending at the waist. At the mid point of Oh Bob, its pretty flat. So you can try traversing across the slope and going up and down the bumps while attempting #1 and #2. Tiring but fun.
@@Justin-yx4bq Thanks - I’m always willing to listen and learn more!
Seems that a big part of the run was Silvespoon instead of Schoolmarm 😅
That’s a great point and thank you for keeping me honest! This certainly isn’t a top to bottom Schoolmarm run as I had originally titled it. I’ve now updated the title and description to more accurately reflect the actual runs portrayed. And now I get to go back and capture a true top to bottom Schoolmarm video! That’s a win-win! Great catch and Thanks for taking the time to comment!
@@ezripper Silverspoon is always less crowded and a way better section of the run over taking Schoolmarm the whole way anyways
@@kalen1702 For sure and the River Run base area gets you back to the top of the mountain … although I did recently learn my way around Peru Express. Good parks and learning area out that way around Mountain House. Plus it’s walkable from the North Lot. It’s just crazy that I don’t have a full and proper Schoolmarm run on the books already.
Nice footage and good job going down blue.
So glad you enjoyed it - Raidercito really put me through the paces on this one!!

Getting close - Keystone opens Oct 28th ⛷
Don't get lost in a well there timmy
This is true! 😅
so you could pop off in those trees and smoke a fatty?
That is indeed a thing, or so I hear brother.
@@ezripper indeed must be coming from those snow boarders over there.
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
This a huge part of it. It actually often puts me in mind of that big hill out by Captain Lane but for some reason I find it fun and approachable, even in my 40s. I’m pretty comfortable out there and I feel like I can build up my skill and try more. It doesn’t help that I’m super afraid of heights but it’s like telling your body to do something it doesn’t exactly want to do but in a really fun way. I also really enjoy being on the mountain in the snow and riding and finding new trails. It’s very fun to explore in this way for me. I’m so thankful Enrique helped show me the ropes! I knew skiing was for me and I needed a hobby tbh. One reason I wanted to film was bc the sights you don’t see every day and it’s neat. Appreciate you bro!
@@ezripper, heck yea, you are doing it though! it definitely won't hurt as bad as me slamming on the brakes and flipping over the handlebars on the bicycle.
@@BEASTmodeontheRoad exactly, ty! 😊
What will you do when it's summer!
Well we’re gonna try and hike our first 14er so that should be cool! We want to try out camping as well. As far as cold weather recreation goes, the snowfall was great this year and some resorts are actually still open. Unfortunately, my season ended in March without a season pass but I had a blast on my first season ever and I’m already ready for Fall! Plus going through, editing, and posting the videos is fun too. Also I’m going to try and get all of us on the summer lift for some interesting family fun on the summer slopes-It’ll be neat to see it without the snow and with the girls!

Nice!
Don't let the street performers see ya take a photo of them, they will harass you for money, esp the naked cowboys and the peacock girls with fanny packs.
We tipped with discretion, we tipped those performers we enjoyed. We were more or less aware of the “tipping atmosphere” going in - we made it through and had an amazing time! We didn’t want to leave - we spent at least 8 hours on the strip a day. It was very awesome!
Also not shaming anyone in any way here - more like what ya lookin at huh .. we set it up
@@ezripper nice, I mostly go to Vegas for Huston's Hot chicken sandwich. Did ya end up going to meowwoof? Figure we would see videos, but the $50 a person price tags keeps me away. Couldn't imagine having a family and trying to enjoy Vegas stuff. Even the zip line is like $40. But we plan on being there for winter.still trying to find some land in North Nevada to call forever home and vaca at our property in KY in the summer.
@@BEASTmodeontheRoad we planned to go to MeowWolf, we waited till the end, and it was gonna take like three hours (plus we always do stuff like that slow anyway) to go through and we didn’t have time or money for it this time. We spent so much time on the strip, taking it all in, that we honestly felt like we barely had time to do anything else we had planned. We planned so much stuff and couldn’t get to a fraction of it honestly. That city wore us out lol! So much stuff we didn’t get to see, but that just means that we know we’ll be going back. Also I have lots of video to edit and post still, I’m just doing it slowly. And in order mostly. We’ll be getting to the Vegas vids - Stay tuned :)
