Why even bother making this video if you're not going to go into true detail of how to program a Baofeng radio?? Lame 👎👎👎👎

So, I bought a UV25 with this programmer and initially it did not work. There is no Google play store application, you must go on a shady website to download the APK. I scanned the website and application multiple times with virustotal. While it looks shady indeed, everything is super super clean. Virustotal is super accurate so no issues. Now. Why doesn't it find my radio? It is simple. For Android 8+ onwards, in order for Bluetooth devices to be discovered you need 1. To allow the location on the app specifically. 2. Toggle the location on when going in the app. Without these settings, a Bluetooth device will never be found. Being a chinese app, it does not prompt you to do these things. When you first start the app there is a disclaimer explaining this but once you click agree, it will dissappear and never appear again (which probably most of us did, without reading what is says). Now, to be able to make your Baofeng disoverable in the app do this: 1. Go into the allowed permissions for the app specifically. 2. Toggle to allow the location "while the app is in use". Also toggle the "Music and Audio" and "Photos and Videos". The application might still work without these additional permissions but I wanted to ensure it has these permissions so no issues arise later. 3. Toggle the location to on before going in the app. 4. Select your radio number from the top radio model selection box. 5. Click on Bluetooth connect. 6. The radio will show up without problems. 7. Follow the booklet to actually programme the radio. Have fun guys :). I spent some time figuring this out. As a note, it is not the fault of the device but how Google allows Bluetooth connection nowadays. For older Android versions, the app will work without problems. That is why for some ppl it works and for others it does not. Peace! PS. With the above method you do not need the Bluetooth code to connect to the device :). It connects directly through the app.

The first time I tried removing the ABBREE dongle from my UV-5R, the part holding the plugs tore out of the dongle, rendering it useless. What a waste of money.

Don't buy this. It doesn't work on Android. The app is not available in the Google Store. Not without reason. Maybe there is malware? I checked 2 transmitters on 2 radios - Baofeng UV-5RH and Baofeng M-13 Pro. The application does not find any radio.

Download location for the Upgrade Files needs to be provided IN ENGLISH. The File Names NEED TO BE IN ENGLISH. The video should be STEP BY STEP for average people to follow. This video is reminder for people that read Chinese(?), already know what to do and have the files downloaded.

Hi I got same radio. I got problem when I swich it on. Only red LED diode keeps flashing next to antenna and nothing else comes up. Screen remains black(off). Battery was charged and I even try with different battery (same output voltage) which says no change. Any idea what's up and how to fix it? Please help.

Hi All! I bought one of these radios, though I shouldn’t have! The programming software on the manufacturer's website + WLT2000 is unusable! You cannot work with, write or read the radio frequency. This is a 3X I wrote to the manufacturer on this matter, but they give no answer. It can only be programmed from a keyboard! if you want to buy such a radio with that in mind, buy it. HA5CRK 73 & 88
