6 years later but thanks for posting. Came across a marketplace listing of a guy selling his old X58 system and extra parts. One of the parts was an EVGA X58 Classified and I couldn't resist reviving that board into a usable system today. 950 pro on ebay go for $100 used, was able to find one of these brand new for $50 in the 256GB version. Looking forward to playing around with this old but awesome platform!
We spent w hours in traffic because Glendale police didn’t coordinate with surrounding police agencies to have the traffic and parking figured out. I spoke with a couple that had 4 hour of delays defore getting there that decided their day was shot and left without even going in the gates
@@brent245 Ohh, nice, that's deffinately a steal. Typically the 950 pros are a bit cheaper, but even $65 for one would be a steal. My buddy just picked one up yesterday for $150 w/ 512gb, sometimes they go as low as $100.
@@brent245 I'm also about to try out the Asus 4x M.2 to 16x adapter to see if I can get 2-4 drives on a single 16x slots (possibly each at full pcie 4x speed), can let you know if it works if you're interested. Had it for a while, but finally got my hands on a second drive to test it out with before I take the plunge on three more. The adpaters are only made to work with brand new x299 Intel boards, but a single drive was able to show up in all 4 slots when I tested it on my X58, so even if they are limited to pcie 4x speeds all together, I suspect you will still be able to atleast get 4 drives showing up in bios and OS on a single slot.
@@kbc8090 Unfortunately it wasn't able to detect the second drive, which is what I somewhat expected. PCIe basically just keeps trying higher and higher lanes untill it fails and uses the last working config (Ex with the quad m.2 card: tries 1x and it works, tries 4x and it works, tries 8x and it doesn't work, so boots in 4x). That said, I will be trying to look into the BIOS files soon to see if I can manually make the 16x slot run in 4x/4x/4x/4x mode and just flash that and the original BIOS as I need. What motherboard are you running?
Yes, it has a legacy mode built in that runs it in AHCI mode so that legacy BIOS can see it instead of NVMe mode for UEFI. Though I would go with a Samsung 950 Pro which can do the same thing and can be found for quite a bit cheaper if you look around (a bit harder to find these days). You can also use Clover/Duet to boot to a UEFI menu before you boot to Windows which lets you use any NVMe drive as a boot drive, even if it doesn't have legacy support.
Red eared sliders!!! MY FAVE kind of turtle and there are so many of them! I rescued a near death RES from a fish market and adopted 2 others from neglectful previous owners so this makes me so happy seeing such big and healthy turtles :)
if u actually new somethinga about cars. you would know about how the car looses power threw the powertrain. basicly it says that the car provides 215 at the crankshat. but it looses power while pushing all of those pistons, A/C, trasmision and manny more things. but after its done with all of that you are left with about 180hp to the wheels which still is not that bad.
whats up with people not responding trying to find exhaust for my crossfire but don't know what to go with i want it loud like this one im worried magnaflow cat back isnt loud enough. any ideas or info yet

Hey I have the exact same noise By any chance did you come across the problem? I think it comes from the air conditioning
Any idea if the newest Plextor drive -- Plextor M9Pe -- will work too?
Dont know
The your have to find a m8pey or 950pro used. I don't see them for sale anymore
I did find a 950 pro and it's working in my P6X58D-E, I confirmed from another guy on overclock.net that the M9PEY does NOT work with x58. Just fwiw.
Samsung 950 pro with a simple $5 NVMe M.2 PCIe 4x adapter is also plug and play with any legacy BIOS boards.
Yup, I have one of those too. However, they are expensive. I got the plextors for $65 open box on Amazon.

I would be very interested in the results of this

Does it work oob ? No modding needed, sata ports still work after the upgrade ?? Most nvme drives dont’ support legacy bios...
