Black Byrd Donald Byrd was all the reason I needed to make jazz my 1st love,well next to Mama's Love ❤!!! At that same exact time Marvin was showing us all that what he touched turned into gold!!! He had that touch!!! Both artists, masters at their at their craft is, was, and always will be looked up to and greatly appreciated by me!!! (TRUE MAGIC)!!!

BYRD IN HAND or A NEW PERSPECTIVE I have many more, but these two albums by Donald Byrd speak to me. My parents were musicologists, and everything was played in our house, jazz, R&B, samba, bossa nova, boogaloo, rock and roll, and blues. This stuff was called "race music". It was our outlet and joy due to the political circumstances of the day.
