Its a great camera. But why does the battery overheat after only 20 minutes. I had to freeze mine before a bike ride. Before going out to get 30 mins of footage.

for low light, i suggest 24 or 25 frames, with iso 100 - 800 and don't turn on boost for stabilizing. Also lower your Resolution to 1440p or 1080p helps in low light settings vs 2k n up. put your shutter to 48-50 depending. whatever ur frames is double that for ur shutter

Thanks for the video. As someone who started watching your videos in the last year, it was interesting to hear about the prior history. One question when you are emailing, does German/English cover your needs and/or do you know other languages so you can ask for vehicles in the mfg's "native language" since there are mainly languages in Europe?

Thanks for the great info. I wish you spent a little more time discussing the results of your range test when you’re done rather than just quickly showing the chart on the side of the screen. I would like more interpretation of the results and comparisons with other cars you are testing. I would also like a little longer opinions on driving impressions. Thank you for all your content.

If I may offer a suggestion: even when you have time (both with the car and for editing) for ten excruciatingly detailed video, also make one or two "overviews" with links to detailed ones (you can add them later, in the video description or in a pinned comment). We don't always have time to watch every of your videos, although we certainly try... As for the days without cars, I like your comparisons of the range efficiency and other easily measurable metrics. You also do nice wto car head-to-hear comparisons. Perhaps you could fill those "dry" weeks with a kind of "shopper's guide" in different categories. Anyway, thank you for good work and good luck in your full time youtuber endeavour. (BTW, what does your petite Canadian think about your bold decision? I _love_ the frankness with which she expresses her opinions.)

How does it work in Germany with press cars ? In terms of this year, the Renault Scenic E-Tech is a relevant car to test and some smaller channels(based on the number of subscribers) already had it.

FWIW, I am not interested in Tesla _at all._ I hate it when a manufacturer takes me for a fool and tries to sell penny pinching on switchgear as "high tech". (BTW, I hope that EU authorities will _not_ make an exception for CyberTruck and require at least C1 category license (as it is heavier than 3500kg. - want to drive a heavy truck - have a truct license.)

Been following you for quite a while, before you got your Walter your ID3, watching videos of you driving home from work talking about the,m, congratulations on going full time with this, you're still the best most informative channel keep it up, I also watch your German channel to try and learn German :)

I've been flying for over 9 years, started with the very simple $40 drones where you had to do everything to fly it. I've had a mini 2 now for 2 years and never crashed it. The sensors are a great idea for beginners but can give a false sense of security where there are small branches or electric wires. I've been thinking of going to the mini 4 because of the follow me and waypoints but have hesitated as I'm just a recreational flyer and don't make any income from it. I love flying in interesting places and now trust the telemetry enough to fly in places I previously thought that I never would. I'll wait to the mini 5 come out, hopefully later this year 2024 and see what features it has and if the price of mini 4 drops. Good video from you to get your opinions, thanks.

Thanks for the video. I love my Mini 3 Pro and was considering upgrading to something with more bells and whistles, but this video made me come back to reality. Maybe I just have more growing to go.

O4 alone makes the Mini 4 worth it

I agree with what he says, I bought my drone to fly it, not interested in autonomy, and the mini 3 has the best length flying time. The extended battery gives 51 minutes fly time.

Same as you, I had the M3P and thought "wough, great update" and bought the M4P. I kept the M3P and will keep both drones for the future. The M3P for me is the work horse you throw into all situations even if there are obstacles, just go for it and fly with some caution. The M4P now is the backup drone for the M3P with a tiny bit better image quality (it is really not noticable imo). The big plus of the M4P is the vertical speed that has almost doubled (+80%) which is a BIG advantage for me. The M3P is too slow vertically. The M4P does the job much better, it feels much faster and dynamic. Forget the 360° sensors as a selling point, they are far from perfect in reality. A Mavic 3 or Air 3 where the sensors are more vertically mounted are way better in terms of obstacle detection. The M4P still has some problems with that. All in all: if you have the M3P, there's almost no need to upgrade. If vertical speed is important to you, go for the M4P.

I think it's worth it for cruise control alone, even if you don't use waypoints or Quickshots / Mastershots. Additive cruise control is the single biggest thing you can do to improve smoothness and consistency of footage.

Now that you will have more time to film, it will be interesting if you find some of the features you are not using currently to be more useful/valuable in the future. I am sick of the constant issues with the hero 8. Gopro is garbage in my opinion regardless of the model.

I like your range tests not only because you live “right next door” and often have similar weather, but also because of the table with all the data at the end of the video. Not many testers include information about weather conditions and tyre size/type in their tests.

Only discovering your behind the scene channel now, this is a better review - much more hands on / real life than what you find elsewhere. Still rocking a 200D, 6D, S10+ and now a gopro10 here, lots of compromises but they say the best camera is the one you use :-) all the best

i dont know if they chaged it bu under 20 % it charges so fekinslow so dont go below if you want to charge optimal but it migh have been changed

That plastic at the instrument bord and doors panels a disaster in ugglyness. :( But still here in sweden it sells like hotcakes.

Hi Chris, fellow id3 driver here. May I ask if you were considering the Air 3 for nicer cinematic look with the longer lens and the more robust and fast flight? Im currently trying to decide between the mini and air for personal hobbyist use…

Personally, the GoPro 8 is still viable for me in 2024. I'm still impressed with the 8's audio recording capability and the video is still acceptable. The negative though, as you stated, you are not able to replace the lens (easily). Also, you're right about the power button-- I have to often depress mine several times before powering on or off.

The Hero8 may work for you taking car videos, but the camera itself is garbage. The battery life is terrible. It HATES the cold and will die within a few minutes (apparently a common problem with GoPro). If the camera gets jostled or the battery dies, you'll have to remove and re-seat the battery to get it to charge and function properly. The camera's controls are over-engineered, which makes sense because GoPro's proprietary editing software is garbage as well. Before the Hero8, I had a ContourROAM camera. I took it skiing, scuba diving, hiking, sailing, snorkelling, cycling... you name it. The battery would through several hours of filming regardless of the conditions. Turning it on and off was easy and could be done with mitts on and your eyes closed. It lasted better than TEN YEARS before finally failing. I was ready to chuck the Hero8 in the trash after 2 years.

So the 8 has no possible way for me to see what I’m taking a picture of?
