This chain holds a special place in my heart.I took a songwriting class while at Consenses and wrote a song based on a film of a walk in the woods in the snow.Afterwards, the artist of this red-haired woman in this chain came up to me and told me he didn't believe that I had written that on the spot and so I told him that I would prove that I can write a song in minutes and that I would write him one and find him to sing it to him.The next morning over coffee, I wrote a song about his red haired woman with the mickey mouse hand in the painting that he named "Dawn."I called my song "Dawn" and it mentioned he was from Pensicola and other clues for proof I wrote it for him...I found him that afternoon as he was leaving and sang it to him in the parking lot of the beautiful grange hall on Martha's Vineyard..He was blown away and asked me to record it for him.. I promised him I would , but over the years I went off Facebook and forgot his name, so if anyone out there reading this knows the painter's name, can you please let me know so I can keep my promise to him? I am @smallhouseinthemeadow on instagram.I sang "Dawn"to Scarlett Keyes on the phone when I got home to New Hampshire and she exclaimed "Carolyn, YOU are a SONGWRITER", which was one of the biggest validating compliments I have ever had being that she teaches songwriting and is an amazing one herself.I can't thank Sally Taylor enough for the Spiritual experience that Consenses was for me. This concept is such an amazing experience and makes us realize how deeply connected we all are.I met some amazing people and made some magical connections. I also had a private concert on the front porch of the grange with Carly Simon and Livingston Taylor.They were singing with each other, but I was the only one there and it felt like my own little concert.I only wish that I had joined in to sing with them, but I was too shy and didn't want to intrude because it must suck being famous and having people intrude on you all of the time.Carly is the reason I became a singer and picked up the guitar as a kid, so it would have been a dream come true.Maybe in my next life.Whomever reads this-enjoy these chains.They are a true gift of love to this World.We need love and connection, now, more than ever.

After I watched this video and listened to this song play at Consenses, I advised the staff to buy tissues and place them everywhere.This song touched my heart as it mirrored my life at the time and I was ugly-crying with no shame whatsoever.

I couldn't walk away from this sculpture when I was at Consenses and of course, from the magic in the music. I could have grown wings and flown away.

Another favorite chain of mine and Libby is not only an amazing singer, but a gift of a human being.

I first heard this song many years ago at Consenses and just yesterday I found myself singing it (with Carly's voice as a duet in my brain)when I walked through a raspberry bush on my property in New Hampshire while walking my dogs and was pricked by it's thorns.I had to carefully exticate myself and sang this song while I did. So I am pretty delighted to find this song and all of the chains on here today.

This song and dance both make me weep. Meeting Scarlett and listening to her play this song at Consenses is a cherished memory that I will never forget.

This melody is so haunting and her voice is magic.This is one of my favorite chains.
