140 divided by 2 =70. 90 -70 = 20. This is another way as well. There's the 180 method then there's the 90 method.

What particular moulding are you using, and what size?
Hi and thanks for your question. This is our 3.5" Bennett style foam crown molding used in this video. Let us know if we can help you with an order!
With the dust that will build up on that molding edge, your led’s won’t be bright for long, and will be a absolute b to clean and maintain cleanliness. Cool idea, it just needs further thought. Points for chill dude, his presentation and personality made this video.
Thank you! We appreciate the feedback. If we can help with some crown molding, let us know.
Wtf. RUclips is very sneaky. This is a hidden ad
Thanks for a no nonsense video. Saved me plenty of time.
You're welcome and glad to hear! If we can help you with some crown molding, let us know!
👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you and hope the video helped you on your project!
Will it ever drop? It doesn’t look like too sturdy with just caulk. Is it a better idea to nail it to studs?
No, it should not with enough caulk on the back. I have NEVER had an issue with that in the many years of doing this and installing it. And NO, I would not nail it up. The whole point and concept is to eliminate the extra work, tools, and labor to nail, putty, sand, and prime the crown molding. Just cut, glue, install, and then paint. Keep it simple!
Awesome
Thank you! Glad it was helpful for you.

need left side done on angled crown molding not flat. please
We'd love to but all of our products are based on that flat back design. The whole idea around our product design is to make things easier for a crown molding installation with the projection already built into the molding. Thanks for reaching out!
ok thanks

I have watched a million videos and this has been the easiest to follow!
Great! So glad it helped. We appreciate the feedback and let us know if we can help you with some crown molding too!
Good video, but both pieces look the same and are the same length so you have to carefully watch which piece he is cutting for the face and for the return. Can you color code each piece a different color?
Thanks for the tip! I can see how that would be easier if they were color coded. I will take that into consideration on our next video. Thank you!
there's a million way-too-complicated videos out there. this one was great. THANK YOU
You're very welcome! Glad it help you and you enjoyed it.
Make it look.easy :'l
Thank you! Glad it helped!
Or 90-70 =20
Thanks!
thank you for this great tutorial! 10 years later and it is still helping tens of thousands of people!
You're very welcome! Glad it helped out.
When you make the third cut you said move the saw back to 45 degree but did you mean 22.5 degree to make a 45 with the two cut pieces?
Not on a tapered dead end because you are needing a total of 90 degrees with all the cuts. 22.5, 22.5, and 45= 90 deg.
It is exceptionally well explained. BUT DO NOT EVER CUT MATERIAL WITH YOUR ARMS CROSSED LIKE THAT!!!! That was the first thing I was taught in 8th grade. That is a rookie move!!!
Thank you, we appreciate the feedback and glad it help! This is an old video designed to show the cuts and angles only. We always recommend viewers to follow proper safety protocols.
Sir, thank you for this video because I was standing in front of my miter saw saying I can’t go beyond 45°. Thanks again!
Excellent! Happy we good help you out on this! We appreciate the feedback.
Don't usually comment but this one is a winner. Simple to follow and very well explained.
I appreciate that and glad it helped you out! Thanks for the feedback.
10 years later and it's still helpful! Thanks a ton for taking the time to make the video
Glad it helped! Thanks for letting us know.
Does this work for any angle crown mold?
I would say certain aspects of it would but the position of the molding in the saw and cutting would primarily be with our moldings because of our flat back design.
I have to install crown molding in a church sanctuary next week and this video has made me not worry so much about how I'm going to get those tricky corners! Thank you!
Great! I we can help with anything, please let us know.
This video just saved me working for a client. I could not figure out for the life of me how to do a 148 degree angle on my miter saw. This explanation worked perfectly and the client is happy. Thanks!
Great! So glad it help! If we can help with anything else, please let us know. We do and can set up wholesale account for contractors too. FYI.
Wow! Amazing video, simple, short and super instructive.... Thank you so much. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for your feedback.
