Can I make a designer coffee table in my garage?
Просмотров 11 тыс.Месяц назад
I made a coffee table for my mum from timber offcuts, based off a designer coffee table she couldn't afford. I'll take you through the process of how I made this using a table saw, a router, angle grinder and a small hobby welder along with a few basic hand tools. Who says you need a fancy workshop to create cool things!

DIY Modern Fire Pit Seating | ASMR - All shop sounds

In this video i'll show you how I made a couple of fire pit benches using entirely salvaged materials, all for free! (excluding screws). The design is simple and can be made with an assortment of basic power tools. Although I used a welder and table saw this could be replaced by a circular saw and additional timber legs instead of metal pins. The timber is old Oregon (Douglas Fir) roof rafters ...

A BEAUTIFUL Sculpted Brass and Timber Jewellery Box
Просмотров 4176 месяцев назад
After finding my girlfriends jewellery everywhere I decided to make her the ultimate Christmas gift... a jewellery box with a sculpted brass top which shows the contours of where we live. The video shows every step of the process including how I cut the mitres, the splines, separating the lid, making the box inserts, setting the hinge and how to oxidise brass to create a cool patina.
Woodworking On Wheels - A DIY Table Saw Trolley For A Small Workshop

I made a trolley for my table saw to help clear some space in my small workshop.
nice
Thanks
👍
You did good 👍
Dude, so awesome and unique 👍
Every single project I make is more about how I fix the mistakes than the design and making, and that in turn helps me suppress the memory of any sanding. Nice work on the hinges.
You've done cross-grain construction there which may be an issue down the track (wood movement leading to cracking) but you might get lucky. Remember that weld shrinks when it cools, so will pull towards the side the weld is on. Sometimes there's an order you can weld in to limit that, other times it's clamping and bracing. You've done well though. You can do a light coat of shellac on the top around the holes before you fill to stop it bleeding and just sand it off before your final finish.
Thanks for the tips Teejay!
Who don’t make mistakes never learn 🤷♂️ great vid and result 👍
Thanks 👍
great video!
Also: i really do need to make it for my work as an artisan . Not for « fun « . For my work . Thank you
I am Amazed . I think your way is one of the cleanest and easiest I have seen
Resilience! Nice job buddy. Only one Thing. For the next project, dont combine edge grain with endgrain... They Will separate 😅
Thanks for the tip!
Very creative idea I like it 👌
Best explanation ever. I've a similar Steam box. Nice work mate
Awesome, made with love for mom, it's perfect
Looks great and some fine skills - Not sure why you didnt just put the magnets in the back of the chopping board and make the board stand up when not in use? Maybe version two?
Not sure what magnets you speak of?
My bad… I was commenting on another project I had seen and maybe it skipped onto the next video yours…😂

Beautiful lamp and a very enjoyable vid. Keep it up
I'm glad the algorithm brought me here! Always happy to discover newer woodworking channels. Nice work; subscribed!
I'm glad the algorithm brought you too! Thanks for subscribing!
verry nice
well done
Pretty sure the greying of the timber is the small metal particals in the air settling on the timber and rusting
Interesting! Thanks :)
Great build and video mate, fantastic job!
Cheers mate
Par exellence!
Mom loved it ,and it looks great to me ..great job...
Awesome video great to see makers making quality pieces without all the top end gear and every saw to poke a stick at at.
In an ideal world I would love every saw I could poke a stick at, but it is fun to figure out how to make do!
Great work! Gives me hope for setting up my own beginner woodworking space.
Cheers Jim! Any space can make a great shop, just depends on how you use it, good luck :)
Pretty incredible finished product. Really well done and enjoyed the video and a couple of laughs. Cheers
Thanks Wardagh, glad you liked it!
Nice work 👍 I have a welding tip tack everything together first and use sacrificial bracing that can be ground back once fully welded to stop it pulling
Great tip! I had tacked a few spots but completely forgot to do the back! Thanks mate!
Stumbled onto your channel. Glad I did! Really loved it, well done on the results
ah man! your mam's reaction is just beautiful! You did a great job. Peace from Ireland!
sláinte!!
That was a labor of love! Turned out perfect!
This is a very clean fire place now. I like the benches. Came out pretty cool. May i ask which Video software you use? I recorded two projects of mine and wanna get started now. Best regards 😊
Yep it’s cleaned the area up nicely! Premiere pro is what I use, still learning!
@@MarosiMakes1 damn, everybody uses it...but its pretty expensive 🤔
Well done! Cool project 👍🏼
great piece but annoying music
Thanks fo the feedback :)
That is STUNNING! What a labor of love!
Well done!
Nice John Deere hat
Good on ya mate!
Thanks 👍
Great job Hope your mum liked it
Thanks Dan! She loved it, fortunately !!
The final result is great!👍
Great piece. Any Mum will adore it!!
Well done, looks good. Yes I must agree attempting to work from a garage is definitely messy 😅
You and me both!
so fun following along with the story, amazing table!
Thanks so much Andres!
You know what, considering the very small arsenal of tools you had to work with, i would say it came out really good. Im very pedantic about getting a seamless glueup but i also have a jointer, planer and shitload of clamps to play with so i think its really good for a garage project. Glad the mom was happy.
That’s the dream, crisp glue ups, for now I think I’ll buy a few more clamps:)
That’s amazing!!
Great job on the present for your mum! Turned out really nice
Thanks! I’m relieved she liked it too!
good job
You are so much more determined than I am. Great effort with greater returns!
Awesome video and storey telling, with just enough dry humour. Well done sir. Also glad that im not the only one that solves problems with sheer persistence. Keep up the good work.
Well, your mother loves it, so I wood say, job well done ❤ Love the video too, nice job and keep them coming, next up the pallet chair 😂
Love the pun! Thanks :)
Such a good video mate 🙌 rad build too 🫶🏼
Cheers Sam! Thanks for watching :)
