    Creative. How much of each ingredient did you add in the mixture? From calculations. What's the protein content of the mixed feed.

      Still adjusting the ratios, but basically 50% maize, 40% Azolla and 10% moringa. Azolla once dried reduces weight drastically hence not easy to give exact ratio.

    You tree management is everything. Talking of manure, mulching but then you need to water Wambungu apples to get a better result. I am not saying water it everyday but water it thoroughly when you do. The other main factor if you use manure make show it’s old old manure from an abandoned kraal. Anything fresh will kill the tree or tart its growth. Never use chicken manure as it is too acidic the apple tree doesn’t like it. Don’t forget to turn/ cultivate the soil around the tree for airing and easy assimilation of water. Try those things sir if you are not already doing them. Remember the measurements are 60cm with, 60cm height and 60 everything for the home if the apple. Don’t plant it next to a mango either.

    The chicken coop outside only works in areas without thieves, try that in Luyia land you will find all your ingoho project stolen! The best one is to put them in a secured room under strong iron doors lock and key!

    • @OffGridRuralLiving
      @OffGridRuralLiving 8 дней назад

      That depends, coincidentally the chicks I got from Bungoma the guy had a coop outside, but if you have a secure compound you can still do the same kind of coop. One thing about birds is that they need well ventilated rooms, which may also mean using materials which may not be very secure.

    • @OffGridRuralLiving
      @OffGridRuralLiving 14 дней назад

      No entering the coop, feeders and drinkers are done from the doors, the idea is to ensure the coop remains clean and minimize chances of diseases entering externally, droppings fall through the mesh so even sweeping is not needed.

    • @OffGridRuralLiving
      @OffGridRuralLiving Месяц назад

      light dam liner (0.5mm) is about ksh. 200 per sq metre, 15 by 30 feet is equivalent to 4.5 by 9m, in sq mtrs 4.5*9= 40.5m2 , cost = 40.5*200 = ksh 8100, if your pond is of 15 by 30feet you will have to buy a larger dam liner of about 6m by 12m which will cost around ksh. 9600.

    Azolla Cleans water, is high protein feed for poultry and livestock, add fertilizer when water turns clean to ensure optimal growth of azolla.
