Hopefully this review is helpful. I didn't have a script for it but just wanted to share my thoughts and keep it short. The technical details can be found on the Benro website: (www.benrousa.com/products/benro-tma38cl.aspx) At time of upload the code welcome10 will give 10% off your order when you check out of benros website. I am not sponsored by benro (at least not yet! haha) and purchased th...

Pure Nepal - A Timelapse of Beautiful Nepal After the 2015 Earthquakes
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.9 лет назад
I arrived in Nepal on May 5th 2015. The Country was beginning to recover from the April 25th 7.8 magnitude earthquake when a 7.3 magnitude struck again on the 12th of May. There were dozens and dozens of large aftershocks that continued to rock the country. (There were several aftershocks that happened while i was recording the timelapse footage so i apologize for any shaking in the footage. So...

A Timelapse presentation of Zion National Park - Utah To create this video, I hiked over 40 miles and took 7,000 images within one week. All Images were shot with the Nikon D600 and a Nikkor 24mm 2.8 lens Motion Control: Dynamic Perception Stage Zero Dolly All Images were shot within the park boundaries The track is a non-copyrited instrumental cover of Say Something by a Great Big World
Any idea how to remove the leg fully from the hinge at the top?!
I have the same question.
I love this trypod
Is this in any way related to Benro BH2 Ball? Say replacement, superior/inferior version?
My sleeves got stuck way inside the leg and don’t know how to remove it
I have just unboxed this item and so your description of the Friction Control usage is much appreciated. The info. leaflet with the ball head could not hope to describe its action. Thank you.
Nice review thanks for that, I don’t see reviews about this ball head I think this is not so famous in the market. Hope I’ll get one, hope they are not discontinued.
is this tripod good for wildlife?
A very helpful review. Thanks : )
what a fluff with gloves on, better off with the b3 ballhead
THANK'S for the info 👍👍👍
great review Thank you
Wow! Just wow. This got my teary eyed. Zion is such a place of beauty and rebirth.
Good review. Were you able to purchase a backup sleeve?
Awesome video 👍 plus awesome tripod. Keith
Does this a include a ball head?? Or does one have to purchase that separately?
It must be purchased separately. This is the particular one I chose but it can be used with any standard head
Hello Matt, I wonder if Benro will also make a compatible blue (L) bracket also to complement its livery. For I love this blue colour. If... you have (any) influence with Benro then please suggest it to them....
Hello Matt, I bought a new Benro tripod TMA 38 CL and a new G2 ball head. Having fitted the ball head to the tripod it does not feel very secure. And I am concerned that the whole head and camera will fall to the ground. How do I address this problem Matt???
Hi Allan. Are you using the long or the short center column?
@@mattbowen6797 I am using the long one Matt. I screwed the G2 ball head on to the tripod but it can still turn and become loose and at present, I am lacking confidence in it. Is it possible to show the ball head being attached to the tripod and making it secure??? ..
@@allandavies1187 I may be able to make a future video. For now maybe try the small screws under the plate on the tripod where the ball head mounts. If you tighten those with an Allen wrench it should hold the ball head in place better!
@@mattbowen6797 thank you....
Do you think the difference between g2 and g3 is worth the price?
Nice video and thanks for sharing .I would like to ask what is best the benro g2 ball or the benro v1E ball ?
Hi Matt, do you have any update on the slightly loose central column? I just purchased this tripod and it's same case for me, regardless if I use short or long column. A little disapointing. Is your short column aluminum or carbon fiber? in my case the short one is aluminum (while the long one and entire tripod is carbon of course).
My short column is aluminum. Still deal with the issue but just giving it an extra turn to tighten it snugs it right up!
I've heard that one can convert one of the legs to get a monopod can you show how to do it ??
Good video but I think the Benro warranty is actually only 3 years, extended by 2 years if you either call in or register the tripod with them on their website. You might also mention that in addition to preventing the leg from falling out of the receiving leg the plastic tabs also serve to keep the legs from turning while tightening the rubber collars. The two slot gaps in the tabs engage in ridges on the inside of the leg and thus prevent the leg from turning. When inserting the removed leg back into the receiving leg it's necessary to line the slots up with the ridges by gently turning the leg while applying slight pressure until the slots line up and the leg slips in.
Matt have you done a comparison between the G2 and the G3 Benro ball head? is there much difference?
Thanks for explaining this. I have a lesser Benro tripod made in a similar fashion and two plastic strips have cracked under light use. Wish I had seen this a week ago before I sent it in for repair; I might have been able to order replacements and take care of it myself.
brilliant review been looking for a detailed break down of this tripod especially the legs thanks for sharing mind is made up i shall buying this tripod and head 👍
Hi Matt, thanks for the detailed review , i have one of these and couldn't agree more with your review. However, I have a question. I see that the manual states that we can assemble a monopod by removing on of the legs and attaching it to the center column, but i haven't been able to achieve this. Can you confirm if this is really possible, if so how do we do it?
You should be able to unscrew the leg with the foam grip on it, and attach it to the center column.
I don't believe it is possible on this. Exact model. Others in their lineup do allow that feature
Thank you, thank you, and thank you.
Does it fit on the Benro System Go what does it have over the B2 thanks. Benro got back to me it works on the System Go and is lighter than the B2.
Great vlog bro. I’m very tempted with this tripod. Is it too big for travel? How are you getting on with it now?
Sorry for the super late reply! Haha it is big for travel but I find it worth the trade-off in most instances. I have backpacked with it extensively and lots of road trips but never flown on a plane with it so can't comment on that aspect.
Hello sir, Can you upload a video about how to repair Benro Pro angel legs (FPA29AB1)? I hope so and Thank you so much.
I should mention that there's a reason they use plastic there. You'll find plastic used on all CF tripods in any friction points. When two things rub together, the harder of the two materials "wins," and destroys the other. If you used any material harder than CF, the CF itself would wear away with time, which would be significantly more expensive repair/replace. The plastic piece is intended to be sacrificial to ensure preservation of the CF.
Hi Matt, What L bracket are you using on your Nikon?
HI Matt. Very nice review of your Benro Tripod! Though I've never tested a Benro, I have recently found a fantastic travel tripod: the Leofoto LN-254CT Carbon Fiber Tripod. It's lightweight, 10x carbon fiber legs, all CNC-machined metal, and includes quite nice metal interchangeable spikes plus a neat little carabiner tool plus allen wrenches. However, what really grabbed my attention, is that the Awesome ball head includes a built-in Panoramic head! So, needless to say, it makes a superb landscape tripod, plus, the pano head, when swiveled into the drop-down notch, now turns into a Gimbal Head! The build quality, IMHO, is up there with Gitzo and RRS, for a fraction of the price. And finally, IMHO it is the best ergonomically designed ball head, because each control knob is a completely different shape/texture, so there's no way of inadvertently making an unintended adjustment out in the field! So logical, and why all manufacturers don't do this is beyond me. Obviously, I highly recommend the Leofoto LN-254CT!
Steve TQP - haven’t you been copy-pasting this on all benro mach3 reviews? Thanks for the spam, I guess?
Thanks for the review. Is it possible to use a different ball head? Im thinking Really Right Stuff BH-40 . Thanks!
yep :)
That ball head would work great!
How are the little plastic sleeves (or whatever they are called) for the legs locking mechanisms? I find that these tend to break after a few years of use (even on Gitzos) and depending on how they are designed, they may be prone to move inside the legs (which results in a leg that will pop out when you try to extend it...).
I made a quick video showing the construction and design here: ruclips.net/video/MTnAy-a1ooE/видео.html Hopefully It helps answer your question!
Great, thanks a lot! The design is indeed very similar to Gitzo's. If all the nobs are high quality, then the only diffrence between this one and a Gitzo 2543L, which seems to be the most direct comparison, is that the Benro is a tad heavier (4.52lbs for the Benro, 3.7lbs for the Gitzo). The Gitzo is significantly lighter, but it is also much more expensive.

Very good
I First time listen to benro g2 what is it
Ty for the review. Currently i have a very nice benro alluminium tripod called A4580T and a Sirui K20x as ballhead but it is kinda small compared to the tripod and when i twist the knob to lock it moves the camera a bit. I am looking for a new ballhead and this one from benro looks really nice
Thank you for this review. I have been looking forward to the Benro tripod review. Are you still planning on reviewing it?
Yes. I finally had time to do a short one today and it will be uploaded soon! I just have slow internet! haha
A really useful video Matt, thanks very much for such a detailed review. Just ordered one.
Thanks for following up Matt with this video. The tripod and ballhead combination looks great. Think I'm going to go with this. Looking forward to your next videos👍🏼
Great video. I could not find much online about this ballhead either. Looks very sturdy and well built. Think you have convinced me to get this ballhead😁 Looking forward to seeing your next video with this on the tripod. Thanks
Thanks Gary, I just did a quick video with this on a tripod. Just another quick one but hope it helps. This is the link: ruclips.net/video/tRMSJedvRwI/видео.html
