I will always suggest NVDA over jaws for two main reasons, the lesser of the two is that Jaws isn't a stable screen reader as it will tend to stutter or even crash as it did for me within 10 minutes of it being installed. The other main reason is the simple fact you can get the same voice packs for both software, the NVDA plugin is only a fraction of the price of Jaws. There are two minor reasons I also will never pay that outrageous price, the first being the removal of True Voice, the best voice pack ever created for a screen reader which I suspect was replaced due to cheaper licensing fees from Code Factory. The other is Jaws seems to be a resource hog, I have a new computer thats pretty beefy but testing Jaws out I noticed how slower it was to NVDA. If I was willing to empty my bank account to pay for Jaws they would at least need to add True Voice back into Jaws/Zoomtext, though I would miss how snappy NVDA is.
