I am a mathematics professor at California State University, Fullerton where I have worked since 2002. I am an algebraist and enjoy working with undergraduates on research projects. In my spare time, I enjoy climbing mountains. I have climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, Pico de Orizaba in Mexico, and hundreds of mountains in the United States, the majority of them in Colorado, including all of the 14,000+ foot peaks and more than 250 of the 13,000-13,999 foot peaks.

Number of conjugate classes in S4
I don't know why but I enjoy your videos ...i really hope you were my teacher 2:57
Thank you so much.
ok period
It took me about 7 minutes to find out that this was a combinatorics course! Such a coincidence as my professor was just going over generating functions yesterday in the combinatorics class that I am in!
Is there a continuation to this video as it was cut abruptly? Very nice video still. I encountered Markov chains some years ago (without know much linear algebra really) when I was doing economics, in that example I believe it tried to model people becoming employed or unemployed, very interesting concept. Thanks a lot for the videos!
Excellent lecture
This and part 1 has saved me going into my Abstract midterm! Please keep making videos!
Spectacular video!
Lifesaver!! thanks!
You are an amazing teacher, Thank You.
Hello sir, when is the time to study these knowledge,I am interest the mathematics
SCOTT ANNIN WE LOVE YOU!!!!
Thanks for all your videos! 🎉😊
Excellent video! Many thanks for your explanations! 🎉😊
Thanks for saving my math!!!
I am 4 minutes still wondering what this mathematics class is about...
Linear algebra!
Very nice method to check non existence of Hamiltonian cycle by contradiction.👍
Its harder to hear you from further away.
elegance is not part of his math dictionary
It would be interesting to follow if you could improve the quality of the video.
Am the 1st to Comment
It always seemed to me that you should just take a transposition (ab) as the easiest example of how the parity thing works - a transposition is written as a product of 1 transposition, one is an odd number, so a transposition is an odd permutation. Then (abc) = (ac)(ab) therefore 3-cycles are even. The technique of breaking up a cycle into transpositions already implies that the number of transpositions you will get will be equal to cycle length minus one.
Professor Annin, this video just saved me!! This explanation of a 'regular defective' matrix was fantastic. Thank you so much!!
You are a great lecturer. You have made me to fall in love with abstract algebra with your explanation. God bless you. l dont need t memorize anything at all.Woow From Ghana
i love you
how do u have M^ed congruent to C^d mod n?
It can be shown that the familiar laws of exponents work just as well in modular arithmetic. Specifically: M^(ed) = (M^e)^d = C^d (all mod n)
I am far away but i do hope all the lectures will be recorded and freely published since you are such a first rate teacher. This is my chance to learn differential equations and linear algebra many decades after leaving college. 🎉😊
Professor Annin, you are such a great teacher, how can I audit the class or maybe just follow along on RUclips. I will order the textbook myself online. 😊
Your explanation is very clarifying! thanks for your help.
If I start with j It's correct or incorrect
if you want to start with j on case 2, you still need to comeback to i for the second time and that's not allowed
Thank you very much for this lesson!
Thank you Sir 😊
Thank you
my mind 🤯by the detailed explanation none did.
oh my..why didnt i find this at the start of my semester.!
This was amazing, thank you!
you my goat
I have a final tomorrow and i gotta say it helped me a lot!!!
A true legend. Thank you
great teacher
thank you very very much
you actually made the strong form make more sense , for that I thank you
Best professor!
Thanks for the video , sir
Every time you do your little nervous laugh like at 9:58 it makes me feel exposed for not getting it haha
This helped me figure out how to do my graph theory homework, thanks for the great video!
That was great explanation. Thanks
fav abstract algebra lecturer
hi, could improve on the video quality? thanks
