Ingredients
16 oz ziti pasta
4 tbsp olive oil divided
1 1/2 lbs ground spicy or sweet Italian sausage
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion chopped
1 (28-oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup of red wine
1 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
1/3 cup chopped fresh basil, plus more for serving
2 cups whole milk mozzarella cheese, shredded
Directions
1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add about 2 tbsp to a boil. Add pasta and cook until it's al dente. Drain and add back to the pot.

Matt excellent point about cooking the pasta till al dente. You're absolutely correct it will continue to cook when you bake it in the oven

I have elk before a my recollection is that there's not a lot of fat and it was easy to overcook. Looks like you did a good job there Matt

Matt, I much prefer the yellow mustard type of potato salad. I usually substitute pickle relish the sweet kind for the dill pickles. But I have a sweet tooth so there's that. Well done brother
