This is the first bow I have made after a 5 or 6 year hiatus. It was a stave from a hop hornbeam that I cut at my property in the spring. I had promised a friend at work I would make him a bow. This is another ash longbow from the set of staves i harvested a couple months ago. The back was finished in various leather dyes and I tried using some leaves to make a subtle pattern on the back of the bow. It has a leather handle wrap and the tips and handle area are blacked out .

This longbow was made from a piece of ash i found while working on a storm. It was just sitting in a pile and probably wouldn't have even been used for firewood. The bow is finished with various colored leather dyes and shellac. The handle is vegetable tanned leather that was hand stamped and dyed with a mix of leather dyes.
