FreeCAD Arch Experiments 06: Windows templates for Opening object
Просмотров 9754 года назад
Thanks user @onekk for providing the base infrastructure for a parametric simple rectangular window. Now it's possible to use a first prototype default window for the opening object, that is customizable with a custom number of panes!
FreeCAD Arch Experiments 05: Prototype for an Opening object

An Opening object can be just a hole in the wall or contain a filling, being it a door, a window, or whatever the user wants to define :). Creation is straightforward: the user just run the Opening (empty hole), Window or Door commands.

extremely useful
Good to know that I can do subtractions on walls for the roof pitch. Will definitely be doing that with mine later
Please let me check if the steps for doing what you show in this video are correct: 1. Create materials 2. Create multi-materials (internal and external) 3. Use the tool "Wall-experimental" to design external walls 4. Apply external multi-material to external walls 5. Use the tool "Join-walls-experimental" to join external walls 6. Use te tool "wall-experimental" to design internal walls 7. Apply internal multi-material to internal walls 8. Use the tool "extend-walls-experimental" to extend internal walls to external walls 9. Place windows, doors, and openings with the appropriate tools in the experimental tools menu 10. Edit parameters for windows, doors, and openings 11. Move walls to the right position with the command "move". In this step the bond between walls, and between its doors, windows, and openings remains intact
Hi! Excellent video. I started exploring FreeCad this week, but couldn't find much information about wall layers. Your video goes straight to the point even without sound, thanks for that. Have you tried generating spreadsheets with the quantities of the materials for each layer?
How to make a window in 2d?
You have 2 'Wall' buttons near the top right-hand side RHS, next to the 'Combo View' 'X'. You used the top one to draw the walls, then you used the second one to join them after marking the walls to join. What are these 2 separate 'Walls' buttons ? Is there a different method on V 0.18 ? Thanks for you help. Q
When I used Revit there was already the possibility to configure the layers of the wall after the brick (Example: Plastering, Painting or Ceramic Coating) and with your video it seems that you can apply these layers without having to make several walls, but using this option automatically. of internal and external material. I wonder how you did to set this up? Thank you in advance for your attention and congratulations on your tutorial.
Oow yeah! This is the future! Have the freecad this tools? how i can acess to this? Thanks from Brasil.
The tools are available in the BIM workbench, but beware they are higly experimental
@@carlopavan5010 sorry Carlo, I didn't find these tools in my workbench and I couldn't find them in the parameter editor. This is hard? have any tutorial? I'm an architect and a fan of freecad, here I walk in slow steps.. :) tanks!
@@renan512 Sorry, forgot to specify that you also need FC 0.19. no documentation yet. You can follow the videos in My Channel ti get an idea. Anyway i suggest not to use them with production.
@@carlopavan5010 this is a great job. ;)
Hi, Your method seems very intriguing, you should really add voice overs and this could be an amazing "FreeCAD for Architects" platform.
Hi, Interesting and seems easy to make plaster layers. Could you make a full step by step tutorial of this ?
thanks! not much time thesedays to dedicate to the project... perhaps in some months :)
can you explain how the area with the hole was created?
it's just a Part workbench boolean Cut
@@carlopavan5010 thank you, can you give a link from the macro
@@thomasneemann5618 you need to fetch my branch github.com/carlopav/FreeCAD/tree/Draft_newSubelementMove or try to substitute the changed files in github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/3716 to your copy of FC0.19. Is it something that you can do?
Hi carlo, i follow you for check your advances in the Bim Workbench. Very nice work you do.... the same for yorik's work.
