screen accurate AT-ST , modeling 90% done and hoping to be printing shortly, should be the most accurate 3d printable AT-ST out there when finished, fully posable with interior, resurch was between screen full size AT-ST and screen used miniatures slight differences and a bit from the ESB screen used model

my 3d print files comes to life :-) based on the screen used miniature used on the show .450mm long ,in my resurch I found 3 versions of them each slightly different in greebly place mint , on the original the panal lines were tape so I never added them in the file, to stay original, hope you like

Fantastic work! I bought a resin kit a few years ago, but i spent most of time adapting it to be more screen accurate. I think i might throw it away and make this instead.

Are you able to tell us where the piping/cable details came from? some of it does look like it's from washing machines...Hoover vacuum pipes, electrical sheaths etc.
All of the above , I'm a bricklayer so I'd be grabbing anything on site that I thought I could use , :-)
@@robertvanvelzen3549 Thanks for the information. I'm making a Bio Machanoid full scale bust to from house insulation foam, which is NOT easy, having to scale all the piping detail, but it's working. I'm also working on an ED 209 full scale again which is aproximately...7ft 6" tall, the problem there is making an under frame in wood that needs to be weighted at the feet either with wood or cement, carpentry skills arent my strong point.

I LOVE the way on YOU TUBE that the ordinary non professional public, are able to construct things that equal the standard of the creature characters seen in high budget films. Also that we are allowed to see the planning & construction stages involved,(something that they DON'T want us to know about of course. in the film industry
Does anyone sell an accurate studio scale AT-AT 3d file. Similar to the MERLIN Model KIT

In regards to the square locking lug nut thingies at 6:15 (which is a great idea by the way..) you could make them like an octagon type shape so you could have maybe one or two different lockable positions..??
Great video! So much detail. One of the best AT-ST models I've ever seen. Good explanation of the parts breakdown. Will be cool to see it finished with paint etc.
did you print with FDM or SLA printer ?
Resin the most part , fdm outershell of head and inside cockpit, 2nd version iv split the outer shell to fit resin printer and see if it cuts down on sanding
What is the overall diemsion on the complete model when printed 100% ?
Should stand about 500mm tall ,
@@zfrenchy1716 the lazy sussan base is 300x300 across , so a shelf to sit it on should be the same

I remember when this album was released, 1978 I was 16 and in high school.
These are the Martian tripods from the album Jeff Wayne's War of The Worlds, they look great where did you get them from?

Found them on thingyverse and then modified them , they originally came with servo mounts and I just cut those bits off as I wast going down that path. Cheers rob

Rub n buff for the silver , applied with a electric sander with a piece of leather glued to it , and a saturn white rustoleum x2

Really great. I’d love a large Starbug like this. I’ve got the electronic playset model and the Corgi die cast miniature, but I’ve always wanted a screen accurate one. My model making and painting skills are nonexistent though, so I think I’ll give buying one a pass! I wish they’d release a screen accurate one, ready built for people like me who don’t want to spend £250 only to completely butcher the model with a bad paint job!

I'm seriously considering buying this model. But I have one question: What dimensions should the build plate be? Because I only have an FDM printer with a rather small build plate, and the model looks as if it's too big for it. If the parts don't fit, could they be scaled to fit the plate?
Hi , you can scale it down per print in your slicer ,or one of the files contains the full ship you could scale that down and take parts off that one , what is your print bed size and I'll have a look
I would be worried at scalling down to much some parts would become to become to thin , so cutting print in to smaller sections might be a better option , just more glue and sanding
@@robertvanvelzen3549 The print bed is 235x235. Most part could fit, but the bigger parts may need to be cut.
