Nice camera angle and even nicer gybes! Is your camera mount commercial or custom made? Where did you get the piece mounted on the back straps holes? Thanks!
Thanks Jordi, It's all custom made. I'm a designer/inventor and have a Machining center to make my products. See more @ Bartlettcomponents.com
Another great video Matt! The speed of that SabFoil 769 is impressive. Since you are using the Slingshot Phantasm 360 tail is it also interchangeable with the Slingshot Phantasm masts and fuselage or do you need a SabFoil mast /fuselage too?
Thanks ! Fortunately the sabfoil front wings are compatible with the slingshot phantasm fuse. Just order the sabfoil conical washers and it's a perfect fit.
Nice and smooth ride, smoking the wingfoiler😂. I'm a windsurfer and also windfoiler, the point is why using the foil also in clear planing conditions? Yesterday for me it was the same, I was on foil but with wind that started rising I would have switched to fin
Thanks, I foil in all wind conditions now. Ripping around with tiny sails in high wind is a blast. I use a 103 foil mast to fly above the chop and waves. The smaller high aspect front wing is not affected by the waves.
Where is the back food straps?😂
Don't need or use them. My back foot is always dancing for maneuver's and dealing with gusty winds. Started with back straps, but could never stay in them long enough to make it worth it. Plus the board was delivered with 4, so I have an extra pair when the others wear out 👍
hımmmm. probably I will understand better when I start the foil🤗
このように、安定したジャイブの方法を教えて下さい。
Get some speed, release back hand early, focus on riding the foil through the turn, not the sail. Once you start the turn, maintain Constant rail pressure. Keep feet planted and shift body weight. If you get pulled to the inside and crash, you held the back hand too long. Let the back of the sail go, and just hold the front of the mast. Took me a long time to foil jibe.
ありがとうございます。 大切なアドバイスをうけとりました。
Hey Matt can you tells us what front wing you were riding ? Also sail size and wind speed? Great video …your drone pilot is good!
Thanks, That video was using the Slingshot G800 front wing, PS400 rear wing. 3.7 Sail. Max wind gust around 18 knots. Rider 145 lbs.
How long foilmast?
103 cm
Nice double karate chop to the FCS at 1:48😂
Hahaa. If there's a chance to water start, I "wack" it in. Otherwise I get on the board and push it in.
Would love to learn how to do this - would pay for personal lessons
Even on a foil… how can you ride a 3.7 in this light wind? That is insane!
The winds were light,.with the occasional 20 knot gusts. There was a lot more slogging time than flying, but you work with what you got.
Saw you from the dam zipping about!
Hi Matt, excellent solution! I already managed to twist my ankle badly during a flaka attempt (resulting in being a few months out of the game) so I definitely see the benefits of such safety system :) I'm sure you are already thinking about this: pre-installing your system in the board so it would be flush with the deck of the board?
Thanks, Part of my design criteria was to keep the stack height above the board as short as possible. I didn’t want to be able to feel it with my bare feet. It took 5 prototypes to get there, but I can't tell it's there and I have an 8.5 foot. An unexpected bonus was for large feet. Some of my customers have a hard time with large feet in booties where the strap is too small, even at the max adjustment of the strap. The extra height above the board gives them more room to work with. The "in board" function would be cool, but I don't see myself making boards. Don't have that skill set 😁
Good man!
That is amazing to foil with such a small sail in no white caps. What was the wind and what is your set up for mast, wing etc?
Thanks, the winds were max ~20 knot gusts. But the gusts can be narrow wind lines that only last 5 seconds, so not enough time for waves to build. I'm 140lbs on a 114L board and 1456 cm2 front wing. 103 carbon mast.
yea get it Matt!
FOILはじめて、どのくらいですか?上手ですね!
Great video. I watched about half without recognizing (and reading the title) the location. I learned to windsurf on Lake Travis / Windy Point park back in the 80's.
Cool
More info please! What size sail? How do you like that G800? I have the same board with a G900 I haven’t tried yet. Been using the PTM 730 so far. Can’t wait to try the G series!
Hi Maury, sail 3.7 goya fringe. Rider 140 lbs. Winds were 7-gusting 17 knots. All the video obviously shot during the gusts. Phantasm 103W carbon mast. I also have the PFI730 front wing. The G800 in comparison to the 730.. Rolls nice and controlled rail to rail. very stable and easy to jibe. The extra glide gives a lot of time to jibe. The video at 1:47 duck jibe illustrates the glide with the delayed foot switch. Heel side turns generate a lot of lift. It's more of a carve, wide radius turns where the 730 is more agile spin on a dime wing. The take off, and stall speeds are similar, with the 730 being a little better at the extreme ends, but hardly relevant in the big picture. Finally got out in some 25 knot winds last Thursday and had a blast. Good upwind speed is a bit easier than the 730. The 730 will do it, but requires a bit more skill to hit the sweet spot. As of yet, I can't say it's any faster (at lease with me) than the 730. My max on the 730 has been 21.8 knots. Your G900 should fly very easily I would think.
Good skills, both sailor and drone. Is that a Wizard 130 or 114? Also I guess it's the Phantasm 103 mast?
Thanks, yes, Wizard 114 103 wide body Phantasm carbon mast. G800 front wing.
Smooth foling! Great drone work and edit! Thanks for this!
Much appreciated!
Where do we look up the cost?

as someone who races a J105, this looks awesome.. just wish the water wasn't as cold where I'm at
Thanks !. Fist week without a wetsuit 😀
Water suits for cold water.... including socks.. gloves....
Smooth and effortless jibes!
Thanks!
What equipment are you using? Board, sail, foil?
Slingshot 114 V3 Wizard, phantasm 103W mast, 730 PFI lower kit and Goya Fringe 3.7 sail
nice one Matt! This is Rob I ran into you on the lake today. look forward to more such videos. Here's my own channel ruclips.net/channel/UCtVHyJWCREdHKYhWATlG7ng last video is of la ventana trip actually which we were discussing. See you on the water!
Hey Matt what an interesting idea, can't believe you figured out how to engineer that! I haven't had a problem with my footstraps yet but in pushing my foiling to ever faster speeds - I have had some of the most violent "catapaults" of my life. The worst part is when my harness lines finally arrest my "flight" and my neck gets viciously whiplashed! ...it has made me think about break- away harness lines to save my neck. Could you adapt this technology for harness lines???
Hey fleet, thanks. I design mechanical systems and machine for a living, so I make things for my own needs and put them on line for sale. I think someone already makes a harness hook just for that situation. Probably search Seabreeze windfoil forum to find it. My break away foot straps have saved me several times that could have been bad. I was at max speed a couple days ago and hit a submerged anchor buoy line that hooked the lower wing and slammed me down hard. Luckily only my knee hit something (boom, mast, board,? IDK). Foot straps popped loose as designed 😅
nice footage! The camera always makes it look less windy, but I noticed some pretty decent gusts coming down the lake. Still a 3.7 seems seems small ...can you remember the wind speeds that day. I would be curious to know
Thanks, it was a weird wind day. 2-16 knots from the east. But the 16 knot wind line would last a minute or two, then drop to near zero. We typically never have wind and flat water. Nothing was planned, my son just happened to show up with his drone. That was just enough wind to make the 3.7 work at my 140 lbs. I'm also on a low aspect wing that has a huge dynamic speed range of ~4-21 knots with me on it (slingshot phantasm 730PFI).
@@AustinActive Thanks Matt I'm curious about the Phantasm 730 PFI I used to ride the Infinity 76 which I loved but it was kind of slow. I switched to Moses ( Sabfoil) and generally use their 683 front wing (1005 sq cm) with my small sails 5.2 - 3.4. I'm 165 lbs and I can push that wing to just over 24 mph in flat & windy conditions. ... what do you think is the fastest that 730 PFI wing will go?
@fleetwoodmarine Cool, Actually just got off the water and had a great session. Wind gust were 25 knots recorded on my boat dock. I actually finally broke 21 knots (21.6). In pretty big chop/white caps. I started on the I76, but it was very lifty and hard to control at speed ( at my weight). I would always foil out in swell. The 730 also had more glide going through jibes. I've been curious about the sab foil 799, or the new slingshot G800 on max speed, but can't find any numbers. I've read the G800 is less affected by chop and swell which would be nice. I have to focus on keeping the 730 deep enough to not follow the surface of the wave. The 103 mast helps a lot to get it down deep.
The drone shots are top notch! Great foil work too!
Thanks a ton!
the music matches the visual display but I keep hearing alex jones ranting about Lake Travis and gay frogs in the background of my mind...
Let us know when the product is out with youtube video link and your product website so that we could spread the news.
Will do. I'll have some video on the product/installation etc.
Nice video with easy jibes. Do you have a safe release system on your footstraps? Where do you get it if it is?
Hi, Thanks Yes they are. I designed and manufacture them. See my previous video for details. They will be available on my web site in ~ 1 month. Bartlettcomponents.com
@@AustinActive Great idea! That could have saved my meniscus 4 years ago! Hope you'll be successful with this. Looks like an idea Duotone could have come up with.
@WhyNoWind Thanks !, Getting close to production release after a year of testing. Let's me push my limits without fear of foot injury (had a couple early on). I can also keep the straps snug for better carving control.
Foot Strap Control System is available now. Info at bartlettcomponents.com See the video for more information. ruclips.net/video/tcl4x7dzUw8/видео.html
I found this video while looking for examples of windfoiling on smaller lakes. This is perfect!
What wing size were you using? Fun video!!
SLINGSHOT PHANTASM 730PFI. great speed range, crazy low stall speed and max out around 21 knots.
This guy can ride.
Buena rodada pero sin musica seria mejor 👍🏼
Nice video
you guys suck
I thought maybe the Af was for America's Funniest (home vids). I don't think you could have aimed for that tree any better. :) Thanks for sharing! :)
Barton creek green belt.
What trail is this?
Thanks!
Good trail, good riding skills. Custom camera mount seems to be perfect.
Very nice! I was expecting a few shots from the bike cam when going up the rocks, but what you did show gave a great view of the obstacles. :)
Another great edit with great riding. Nicely done!
Nice helmet. JS7 has come out with some sick gear!
Great skinny! So smooth.
Where is this?? City park? Love the lil drop offs!
Good stuff on some of the best stuff.
Where do you drop in go this trail?
