17:45 for ugly/bad weeds things that you really don’t want in the system that are a irritation or prickly I make JADAM Liquid Fertilizer. I have several 55 gallon drums around the property where I inoculate with different types of compost or forest material I had rainwater or lake water and then add ugly/bad weeds, In 12 days you have plant available nutrients that you dilute at 1 to 10 ratio you constrain the material to ensure you don’t get any seeds or root material when you apply it. so in this way you become part of the system and you mobilize the nutrients back into the system.

The first year I started this I actually purposely collected different weeds throughout the spring summer and fall months in large quantities and added them as nutrients to my compost to my liquid fertilizer and directly to the areas that I were to be planting this coming season. The weeds disappear when you do this and you start to see the succession change.

I love my passion flower plant and always get compliments from visitors. Thank you for your great explanation, now I realise why the flowers drop off. I will plant a different variety now as I always wanted another anyway. I look forward to getting some fruit in the future. Very informative. Thank you and Happy New Year to Brazil from Ireland.

Thanks for sharing your positive experience with eucalyptus. I have been laying eucalyptus as mulch in the pathways of my raised bed garden for about 4 years and under it is a composted layer from it breaking down and it looks SO rich! As you have used eucalyptus for some time now, can you suggest any ways that I can put that rich looking black compost layer to use for my vegetable garden ?

I have about 50 potted in all stages here in Southern Cal USA zone 10b. Started from a couple store bought, neglected in the last year due to knee replacement. My harvest was eaten by critters in our yard. I just spent a day potting all the new pups and slips.. Should have watched this before pulling the slips off the mama plants. Trying to figure out how to enclose my mini plantation to prevent the critters from eating the harvest next year. Any suggestions? Also in another one of your videos you used manure but I didn't know what type it was that you used. From what animal or does it mater. Here we have access to chicken and cow.

No wonder it's taken so long to get pineapples. My bf planted tops. But this year, a baby plant has produced a pup coming out the side of the bottom of that plant. The mother of that plant finally gave another pineapple. Thankfully, Google brought me to your channel.

I am in the Canaries and I am happy to learn what nobody told me here! You didn't mention keeping the narrow leaved pups, and I was told to remove the more rounded leaved ones... Maybe it has to do with our variety? They say round leaves = more leaf & less fruit!

I only stumbled on this RUclips channel this morning, but the food forest concept is close to my heart. Just in case you have not already planted a few hundred trees of Borojoa patinoi, I would like to be the first one to draw your attention to this Amazon basin native tree, whose fruit contains 300% the percentage of digestible protein in comparison to the protein content of cow meat. Jam-packed with many other vitamins and dietary treasures, the Borojoa fruit is renowned for its aphrodisiac properties throughout South America. Borojoa patinoi MUST be planted in the shade of other trees or its leaves will brown during the tropical dry season, and this means Borojoa can be combined with existing plantation of tree crops like oil palm, cashew, mango, and avocado, thereby maximizing the returns per hectare of land. In its native South America, the Borojoa tree takes six years to reach fruiting maturity at about twelve feet tall, BUT is has been discovered that Boroja starts to produce fruit in FOUR years when planted in West Africa. In my humble opinion, Borojoa patinoi holds the key to alleviating world hunger because, throughout this planet's Equatorial belt spanning Asia, Africa, and South America, virtually ALL existing tree plantations can be planted with the shade-loving Borojoa tree as a companion tree crop, thus sowing the seeds to reap TWO streams of income for every hectare of land planted with shade trees anywhere in the tropics. In short, thousands of hectares of Borojoa can be established throughout the tropics WitHOUT felling a single tree of old-growth forest.

The last time I flew from Houston Texas to Chicago I was very sad to see what we have done to the soil through our monoculture practices and use of 26:04 industrial chemical fertilizers. No natural soil exists. We will have created desert in 50 / 100 years
