So the script to run you could use something like Azure DevOps, packer, terraform, Azure VM Extensions or anything like that. But i hear ya and I will do a video on how to do it soon without Nerdio :)

I'm not MASSIVELY concerned, I would just rather have it then not have it if I were put into a position where I had to look for work. And yes i get your point about time running out but I still have 20 years left until I retire so spending a few hours a week for the next 2.5 years i think is a good investment in my time.

Normally just going above and beyond. Coming into work an hour earlier (usually at my desk at 7am) and leave a little later, do the advanced certs instead of the basic ones, blogging, presenting at events, anything to get yourself out there and put yourself infront of the average person when it comes to applying for roles. It realy does work :)

You can use Azure DevOps or any other method you want to use to ensure its ran each time

Thanks for your feedback! I'll definitely consider creating a video on using private endpoints and addressing public access concerns. Stay tuned! For my customer production environments I ALWAYS use private endpoints, but this is just my homelab environment which has no data worth stealing on it!

It was IR35 which basically stopped me from contracting and I wanted a bit of stability. I contracted for 20 years so was constantly away from home. In relation to the contracting market I would say its not in a good place. Rates are low and decent contracts are like gold dust. I have a few friends who are still contracting and they are REALLY struggling to find work. Hope that helps!!!

Thanks for the comment! I think the skills required for cloud are actually quite similar to onprem skills, there is a lot of overlap, but it just requires a different way of thinking. I personally think those people with onprem skills actually have a head start because they generally have a better understanding as to how everything is plumbed together under the hood so can fix stuff more easily. But it's a great video topic and definetly something i will do a video on!

Hello, the instructions in the video will show you how to install an application on a session host. If you install google chrome on a session host, yes it will be available to all users. If you just want to publish google chrome then you can use a RemoteApp instead of a published desktop.

Yeah its something I have looked into. The reason why its not recommended to join your image to AD or Entra ID is because it tatoos settings in the registry which can cause problems. Generally though AD Domain Join is OK but Entra ID is more of a problem because when you join the image to EntraID its difficult to clean up the settings. I do however have some scripts which can fix this so I may do another video about that :) If you want a copy of the scripts just drop me a message :)

Interesting stuff Neil. I see that none of the V6 SKUs currently support ephemeral disc. Is this temporary whilst they are in preview do you think? Would be great to be able to use that fast local NVME storage.

@@NeilSpellings I think so, as ephemeral disks are just local storage. I can see 1 SKU which says it supports it, but that SKU is not available yet. It will be interesting to see as it's local NVME storage, so it should be super quick! The SKU which is says it supports it is learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/sizes/memory-optimized/epdsv6-series?tabs=sizebasic. What is even more interesting is that SKU is the Cobalt processor which is a ARM64 Processor. For these, you can have an entire core per vCPU, so in theory, they should be super quick for AVD workloads! Now that will be an interesting test result :)

@@virtualmanc but only configuring RDP is not enought as fas as I have read on MS articles isn't it? And in case we use Microsoft Entra hybrid joined (having our own AD synced with Entra connect) then what more do we need to configure? Do I need to configure also on my DC?

Hey Steve, yes, it's possible, although more configuration is needed. You need to create a script to run every time the host starts up to mount the file share using the storage account keys as authentication :)

@ thank you for amazing quick response. Will this be officially released by Microsoft that this can be done? I have quite a few clients that have Entra DS and AD servers just because of AVD and would love to removed it and go full Intune cloud only
