I haven’t tuned it yet. I was waiting on the tail to get here to do it all at once. It’s going to be hard to determine how much power it makes since there aren’t many all wheel drive dynos in my area. Also, I ordered HP Tuners. I’m going to try my hand at tuning. Just waiting on it to get here.

@Ninelinegarage ah okay, I ended up getting the same cam. Haven't installed it yet. Recently got the 6.0 short block back from the machine shop and right now I'm redoing the suspension before dropping in the engine.

Right on! Richard seemed to think it would be around a 475hp engine with that cam and a TBSS intake.

I have decided to start tuning and will throw up some videos on the GMC and the Holdener cam very soon! I did some data logging last night on it.

Let me pose a question to you. Why is it required to increase the size of the injector and larger fuel pumps as power levels increase? More horsepower requires more fuel! It’s just depends on the fuel and air requirements of a particular engine.

Are you serious? Having properly gapped, high quality spark plugs are critical in producing a proper flame kernel. This increases the efficiency of combustion and extracting the most energy out of the fuel that’s supplied.

Back in the day my dad used to tune our '68 Dodge Dart. I still remember him using a spark plug gap tool to ensure a precise spark gap per the manufacturer instructions for the Slant 6 engine with its carburetor. Surely that remains important today, given various mechanics' teardown videos I've seen stop to examine the plugs and specifically whether they got "mechanically regapped" by an errant piston striking them.

@DarthContinent we used to “index” our plugs on our race cars. Squeezing every bit of power out of an engine takes a lot of small details. Plugs should never be overlooked!

I seriously doubt this was the reason he threw a rod. There are thousands of people who use this stuff everyday without issue.

I've used it for 30 years in ever vehicle I ever owned and never once had to ever repair the inside of the engine. 180k on one car, 250k on the last one.

It is important to put the correct amount, I have used MMO for over 10yrs, and never had any issues...

So you push down on that black rounded piece while pulling the handle?

@Jmart0120 it’s a metal level that the yellow attachment clip is on. I had to push down on it hard then pull up.

@@Ninelinegarage thanks, the plastic fell off on my kids truck, I think I’m gonna use a flat bar and a hammer to try and push down on the broken plastic junk that is jamming the door. If that doesn’t work I suppose taking out the seat to remove more of the panel might be an option. What a nightmare of a design.

@@lifewiththelakes Not really that important I guess. Richard proved it on a dyno, dip it in oil, put it in with a sledge hammer and start pulling the front tires.

Stock push rods. I have some 8.1L Marine injectors I will be using.

​@Ninelinegarage how's the driveability? Are you still on the stock stall? If so, does it try to push through the brakes at all?

I haven’t driven it much yet. I still need to get it tuned but want to wait until I get my intake and stuff on it. I believe it will work fine on the stock stall since it’s a 6.0. Smaller engines would definitely need one.

@@Ninelinegarage lastly are you running just a stock fuel pump? And are you gonna do just a 87 tune?

@kobehargest it’s on a stock fuel pump right now. It was already tuned for 93 before I did the cam swap.

After I saw Holdener’s video on them, I decided to just go with a NNBS intake.

I’m going to stay stock pump for now. No plans for E85 as of right now. It’s not readily available in my area.

Unless Marvel Mystery Oil has a newer product that I am not aware of, you can use the original version of MMO in gas powered vehicles also. I use it in both of my gas vehicles as well as my lawn mower at every fill up. I use the recommended amount of 4 ounces of MMO for every 10 gallons of gas. I also add some to the crankcase. There is a newer synthetic Marvel Mystery Oil that is for using it in the oil only. This came out in February 2023, and I have only seen it in 16oz bottles.
