Great review. I own one since 3 years, love it ! I have the same issue with the gates not aligning properly. I’ve solved that issue by using 4 trailer lock pins (2 for the front gate and 2 for the back gate). Since I remove both gates regularly, it’s very convenient. Cheers !
Big Douglas-fir
Cool, thanks, what kind of wood is that?
It's douglas fir.
Ben, Thanks for the review. I'm looking for a trailer, HEAVY DUTY is a. must. The frame of this trailer doesn't look all that stout and the sheet metal sounds like tin, not at all that heavy. Is it Chinese? If I pull the trigger, I'm going to ask for bare metal and get it hot dipped galvanized. IMO trailers are a waste of money unless galvanized. Your feedback would be appreciated.
For what it's worth it's advertised as made in Canada, not sure that means much these days. The sheet metal is perhaps a bit thin but I haven't had issues with it. However on heavy loads of green wood the tub of the trailer wants to flex outwards which causes the doors to fall out. That's why i opted to pin the front door in place with bolts, to brace the walls, and I then use a ratchet strap to hold the walls on the rear. That would be my only personal complaint about the trailer, I wish the tubing of the frame and tub were a bit heavier. I've heard from other people on RUclips that the Range Road trailer is built more heavy duty than the MUTS and it is also galvanized, but I don't have personal experience with it.
Thank you Bern. I'm looking at a trailer out of Idaho. Looks to be much heavier frame and sheet metal. I want a bare metal unit so I can get hot dipped galvanized. @@BenOfficial94
What size are your tires? Been looking to replace my stock small ones.
They are 28x9.5-14. I put on a perfex 2" lift kit when i changed them. But you'd probably fit them without it. These tires (sti outback max)are very hard, though, and ride extremely rough at speed. But they work well for me because I'm just crawling around.
@@BenOfficial94 thanks for the fast answer man!
Well, I won’t be buying this trailer. These things are way overpriced to have subpar customer service and bad fitment issues.
Fair enough. Overall I'm fairly happy with it. But they definitely are a chunk of money and I'm sure prices have gone up since i bought mine.
You need more tools on ya belt 😂
Did yours change after break in? Mine's through 2 tanks and still feels a little underpowered
It honestly started off very strong. There may be a reset procedure you could try if yours seems underpowered. I'm not sure on the 540 but on my 592 you just fire it up and let it run on full choke for a minute or two and then shut it off and it seems to recalibrate itself to where it definitely woke up some after breakin.
@@BenOfficial94 I'll try that, thank you!
Great job and nice video buddy🙋♂️. Biiiiiiiig Like 👍
Thank you.
saw is sounding good love the sound of a ported 395 :)
how are you liking the 592 ben :)
It's been good. I've only ran around 15 litres of fuel through it but it's definitely nice to use. Very good anti vibration and more power than it's two predecessors in stock vs stock. I will be getting the muffler modded but i think I'll leave the porting alone on this one.
How much hitch weight ?
Not much. If it's fully loaded evenly, I can still lift the hitch quite easily. I'd guess around 100 lbs at most on an even load. Empty around half of that.
Thanks for the review. I now know never to buy this trailer. Especially when the manufacturer said the hitch worked well enough.
The hitch thing threw me a bit but overall it's still a good trailer. I just wish it had gate latches. But I do intend to fix that.
Look up Woodland Mills trailer. They have a single axle and a dual axle as well. They are built really well. Let me know what you think.
@6369crashie i had considered it as well back when i bought this one. They do look built well. If i recall correctly significantly heavier than the muts. The other brand I looked at was Range road. They look good too.
Fantastic is a very big Douglas-fir. Oregon coast?
All the trees I've cut on the channel have been in British Columbia's central interior.
@@BenOfficial94 true! thanks Ben
Супер, молодец! 👍👍👍
It's interesting to see how you deal with the tree when it goes wrong. It happens to us all. I'd feel happier seeing you wearing some chainsaw pants and proper chainsaw boots instead of jeans and low leather boots. Working in the bush on your own is risky especially if you have an accident. Time to invest in some proper PPE, especially if you're tackling trees that size.
Yes this is in Canada. You are only able to collect rotten firewood? In Canada we are able to get permits to cut dead wood on government owned land.
@@arnilazarev1771 Our gas here has also skyrocketed. Our governments sound like they have a lot of similar problems.

top is a Douglas-fir?
Yes.
We need a video with some timed cuts of the 592xp vs the rest of the fleet.
This video got long because ultimately this tree did not go as planned. So this video is likely not for everyone. But I thought it was more authentic to not omit content when things don't go exactly according to plan. Because that's a part of this sort of work. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic you're back. Is a Rocky Mountain Douglas-fir
Was waiting for the wind to die down and it ended up getting late, ran out of light after I felled it, will return tomorow if i have time and collect this tree for firewood, Thanks for watching.
Great to see you posting videos again. I'm just about to get back into firewood cutting again now the temperatures are a bit cooler. I see you're back wearing those leather boots, but would be good to see you in your rubber steel toe boots again when using your saw. Did you ever get a pair of the orange rubber chainsaw boots i recommended? If not your regular rubber boots would be good to see again with your pants over top to keep the sawdust out of course!
Hello Again, Good to see you around. How are things? What saw you runnin for your firewood collection? I have not bought the boots you recommended, I have had a look at them and they do look like they'd be good for the inbetween periods in the fall when the wet snow falls. I might have to cave in and buy some. Thanks for your views and comments.
@@BenOfficial94 yes you should get a pair, you can also wear them as regular work boots with carhartts or jeans over top of them too. Hey if you do another video tomorrow can you wear your regular rubber boots instead of the leather ones? You used to wear the rubber ones in your earlier videos. i think they're better than the leather ones. I use a couple different chainsaws for firewood. MS290 for felling and then i think it's a MS311 for delimbing and bucking as it's lighter and easier to handle for long periods.

Hell of a sprinkler there . Still cutting ??
Yes still cutting hay. Then will start on silage soon.
Hahaha😂
I like your wood trailer? where did you purchased it?? thanks!
I purchased it directly from "MUTS" (multi use trailer system). If you google MUTS ATV Trailer, you should be presented with their website.
Teamwork makes the dream work.
That's an awesome piece of equipment my dad used to have one of those
The stacker? We have 4 of them. Still our main hay system.

Look at the Woodland Mills Multilander model. Has a pivoting hitch, log loading function as part of the trailer, not extra. Tailgate is secured, allows the tailgate to pivot from the top when dumping or easily removed to haul longer logs. Heavy duty frame with 2000 lb. payload. It lists at $ 2,499 and includes a couple things that are extra on the Muts.
Hi Ben, no new videos?
Hello, Been very busy. Traveling, Working, getting married etc. Hopefully get back to it in the fall. Thanks for your comment
Ben, did Larry offer to refund the hitch? I just received mine and will begin putting it together tomorrow. I live in Alberta and want to use it on the farm and for transporting Hay bales. Good video!
Hello Jeff, No Larry didn't offer a refund. The trailer will work well for hay bales, I've actually put a 4' by 4.5' round bale in mine with no issues. And I'm sure you're talking about square bales, haha. Thanks for your comment.
Ben, can you still fit an 2 “ ATV hitch in the mount? Thanks for the round bale info as that is the reason I chose this trailer rather than buying a bale hauler. I wanted to do everything with my CANAM 850 year round. All the best!
@@jeffcindy3274 The mount on the trailer is 1 1/4". I have put a hitch into it before for towing my wood splitter.
She sounds a tad bit on the lean side to me. I mean I don't believe you need to go way fat but I have run on the edge before and burned up a saw
😮 no
I've had this same MUTS trailer since 2012... hauled a lot of firewood every year, and it's held up well... really like the walking beam design, and overall it's designed well... very efficient use of material, eg. you might look at the box hinge design (below the box) and think it looks kinda light... but so far no problems!
I agree it does look a little light. I have a few things I'd like to modify a bit on it. But not sure when i will get to it. Thanks for your comment.
I love mine, mainly use it for hauling firewood
Same. And manure in the summer. Pretty happy with it overall.
I see you like most home owners .don't understand..better drill that bar oiler hole out bigger on both sides and thin your oil it doesn't oil the bar properly..even on 20 inch bars let alone 24 28 32 36 .drill all your bars out..and Tapp the oilers..resess
Great job ! It looks like you found a nice bunch of dry ones & not to thick , easy to get around with a quad, I built a double axle 6 foot trailer I put a hitch on the back & pull a single axle 6 foot behind works great if you have no big hills, I just love wood cutting had to sub :)
Thanks for your comment. Been a while since I made a video, just been busy doing other things and fighting the winter weather haha. I have a few decent hills to climb/descend so especially in winter this trailer is about all i want behind me.
2 years running and my gate has never jumped out. I've never even used the pins lol. Best trail I've ever had. Only issue I have is the hitch end is not long enough
What're you pulling yours with where you find your hitch is too short? Mine sometimes gets very close to my bumper when i go through dips.
