This cut wasn't involved may be because Peter didn't want to disappoint the book readers as Saruman was killed in Shire not in Orthanc ( Isengard)

“Get the caaarr” Saruman clearly just wanted to leave

This truly demonstrates how powerful Gandalf had become. When they first fought, Saruman defeated him. Same thing on Caradhras. Gandalf couldn't counter Saruman's spell. Here, he counters his magic and breaks his staff with a mere command. It's not even close anymore. Were they to fight, Gandalf would've vaporized him.

I understand why this scene was cut, but it's worth studying and appreciating for Lee's performance alone. My man Saruman was absolutely COOKIN' in this scene. 🤣 "What is the house of Rohan, but a thatched barn where brigands drink in the reek and their brats roll on the floor with the dogs! The victory at Helm's Deep does not belong to you, Theoden Horse-master! You are the lesser son of greater sires." 💀

Such fond memories of this trilogy. I remember getting the extended edition of ROTK for Christmas in high school. I learned what "dotard" and "cur" meant from this scene; so, years later, when the former insult was hurled at Trump by Kim Jong-Un, I knew what it meant. 😂

As many times as I've watched this, I've *never* noticed that Saruman made a pun regarding Frodo's plight: "Tell me, what words of comfort did you give the Halfling before you sent him to his doom." As in literal ruin, but also MOUNT Doom! 🌋🤯

This does not align with the book. Saruman died in Hobbiton AFTER Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin returned from Gondor After the One ring was destroyed. After Aragorn was crowned King. Treebeard had released Saruman from Isengard. Saruman took a band of crossbred orcs/humans to Hobbiton, ruined the land and made slaves of the hobbits. None of this was in the movie.

I could never watch all of Peter Jackson's travesty that he did against The Lord Of The Rings. This is the first I saw this, and it is just as dumb as having Elrond bring Aragorn's sword to him. Nice graphics, good acting, horrible story telling. Jackson, you are no Tolkien.

Now I see why they cut this part out. His death was so brutal 😣

0:12 This hits harder since Bernard Hill passed away. He was a good man and he portrayed Captain Smith so perfectly in James Cameron's Titanic movie.

That fool of a Took found the Palantir in the water but how did it get there???? That scene makes no sense without this remarkable scene. Some incredibly careful script writing, and some incredible acting especially by Saruman and King of Rohan. They cut this out and instead there was loads of time for the most boring scenes about Aragorn and his Wife to be. I have to fast forward those bits when I watch reruns. At least it was in the extended DVD. Big big mistake leaving the best scene in the film out. Makes no sense to me. Really really pisses me off. No justice in the World at the moment neither. That pisses me off too.

: I never understood why Legolas killed Grima. He was doing them a solid and revenging himself upon Saruman. That's storywise. Productionwise, they probably had run out of money for Dourif and so had to wrap Grima up proper.

Grima only gets murderous when Saruman sasses his homeland

This scene is so cool because gandalf being a wizard, makes him a vessel of direct authority bestowed by eru, and him telling saruman "Your staff is broken" is the will of eru channeled through gandalf

I wish Jackson had left Saruman alive and filmed the rescue of the Shire. It's one of my favourite chapters in the book. But I know that it would have taken too long. You could make a movie out of that chapter alone.
