2024 Gridlife's Season Finale ClubTR Time Attack Pitt Race PB 1:54.8 Acuity Instruments Honda Civic
Season finale at Pittsburgh Race International for Gridlife's NOS Track Battle Time Attack in ClubTR with the @ACUiTYinstruments Honda Civic EG K24 swapped.
PB of 1:54.8 good enough for 4th place. Left a lot of time on the table at T5 and T16, ran that lap with no ABS due to loose power wire. Optimal of 1:54.1 and I think 53's are definitely achievable if I clean up 5 and 16. I had to let off on T14 due to a GR86 being on the racing line and I didn't want to get too close. The ITBs are definitely a huge upgrade over the S2 Ultra Street manifold. Can is rowdy and extra loud.

New PB at Mid Ohio after an overnight engine swap and suspension not dialed in to maximize rear lateral grip. Car has definitely a 1:34 pace with the suspension sorted and no low oil pressure cautions. I was getting 40 to 50 PSI at WOT.

PB from GridLife's new time attack format "Podium Sprint" in which the top 5 times battle it all out in a 2-lap sprint. Track conditions were not ideal: 3:40 in the afternoon after W2W and drift. Track was super greasy and I barely managed to keep the car on track. 1:45.6 in Podium Sprint, and 1:45.1 early Friday session.

Oof. Looks like the car doesn't want to rotate on entry, and just when you start to get some rotation in the middle, you stop it cold by mashing the gas and send it into massive understeer. I think if you could get it to take a slightly later turn-in with more corner entry rotation, you could get on power at a similar time, but already be pointed more out of the corner for a better mid and exit. Check out Eric Kutil's vids to see what I mean. Or maybe I'm just talking from the butt cuz I'm just watching vids on the internet. 😅 Kudos for getting out there and sending it!
Hey, totally agree with your analysis. I still have a LOT to clean up in my driving, and switching setups as often as I do does not help. I believe the more seat time I get, the better I can understand the car’s behavior and clean up my driving. Appreciate your constructive comment! 🤙
