Takeawahs: 1. Motion planning can be formulated as an optimal control problem. In the case of autonomous cars, we want to formlulate a command profile that creates a desireable motion within a set of cost parameters, such as comfort, fuel efficiency, path length. Commands are such as steering, gas, and brakes, or idealized, such as vector, speed, and acceleration.j 2. This approach is tractable only in simple cases. Next video: how to we simplify the problem so it is tractable?
