What foam cleaner did you use or recommend?
Well done. Have same problem. And i enjoyed the way you pushing that bushing inside the hole😅
How did you get the clutch selector in the correct place, I am trying for 2 days to get it on. Please help
It was a while ago that I did this repair so I don’t really remember. However If you watch the video, at around 23 mins in you can see I am having the same issue. I state in the video what you need to do with the clutch selector to get it to go on. Good luck!

My original key is broken and I got a duplicate. Can we code the new key?
How is your original broken? Does it still talk to the immobiliser? If so you can probably use it to programme. If not then probably not able to.
Looks hella fast
is it possible to remove a key that was previously tagged to it? for security purposes?
Not that I am aware of.
The programming process should remove any previous keys that are not recoded at the same time. I've done this on my previous bike (2002 cbr600f) with my own diy lead made using a genuine plug from a breakers yard. That ended up with 3 keys after only getting 1 originally so got a second then the dealer lost one but found the original spare....
Anyone know where I can find this plug on a 2020 CB650R?
It would be in the same place as the video. Same engine as my bike.
Hey buddy, can you tell me what is the name and size of that wrench bit? Thanks.
edit: PS... also, once a key has been married to an ECU, that key cannot be married to any other ECU. The ID46 chip is a 1-time use.
Does anyone know if there is a "factory" cable that one can buy online for this procedure?
Have a look at eBay, people do sell the cables but they are not cheap! Hence the hack!
What’s the material? Aluminum or steel? Thanks!
Not sure. It felt pretty light so could be alu to prevent rust.
Link dove comprarlo?
Do you have to have key cut or can it just be one off eBay ?
You need to get the key cut to match your locks. If you already have one key they they will be able to cut it from a picture.
Will heat affect the paint?
It hasn’t done so far, it’s been on some long hot rides too!
I have a 21 plate cb650r which has a 3 pin crank sensor plug do you know what I need to do differently
Sorry, I don’t know the hack for the three pin.
Have tried this twice now, but cannot seem to get it to work. I follow all the steps and the bike responds like expected with all the blinking lights. Except for when I put the new key in, the HISS light will be on for a few seconds, then start blinking, it does blink 4 times, but the last 2 blinks are noticeably slower. Taking everything out and trying the key then, nothing happens and the HISS light will just stay on. This is on a CBR 600f4i. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Update for anyone in the future, the SSLL (Short/Long blinking code) meant that the chip was not working in my case. Got a new chip from the sender and it worked on the first try! It can also mean your wiring is wrong in case you have a working chip.
Sorry, only just seen your message. Well done for sorting it out. 👍🏻
Perfect…my wife’s car has developed the same knock and I’ve been going crazy trying to find the source….thanks for the vid and info👍
No problem 👍
@@beanosgarage9606Good work🎉 I asked for that bushing and the part store says these bushings are not replaceable and their solution for this is to change the whole part(shock absorber) Can I use your method for my 2016 tucson and will this work correctly?
I have a Honda cbr 600f on a 1999. Will this work on my bike?
If it has Hiss then it should do yes.
Just managed to code a replacement key following your guide, I did the same buying a Honda NC750x from Copart, it came with one original key but I needed another, so bought one from Chema LTD, they cut the key from a photo I supplied with chip, and using your video it all worked perfectly, big thanks.
Great to hear! Good work. Good luck with the bike and ride safe. Great mpg on those!
May sound silly but could you actually connect all the small wires used from the spare radio harness to make the 2 longer wires just cut off the pins off all the other small wires then crimp them together to make the 2 long wires also do u have to use a inline fuse thank you
Yes, you could do that. No need for the thicker gauge wire I used, i just happened to have that spare. It also meant I didn’t need lots of joins. Can get away without an in-line fuse, it’s the resistor that’s essential for it to work. It’s not drawing a lot of power for this procedure. Thanks for watching.
@@beanosgarage9606 amazing thank you very much for your help it's to programme a 3rd key for my brother cbr650f
an aux ques on the Quadlock mount you got there, is there a particular reason to avoid a stem mount?
Hi, thanks for watching. The mount came with the bike so I kept it. I had a stem mount on my last bike which worked well but this is just as good and being quadlock is solid! I have had to get the anti vibration damper for it though as it was damaging the camera on my iPhone 12!
Hi, Do you need one working original key? Or if you were able to make a key, can you program a blank key without one working key ?
I am afraid you need a working key to do this.
Qual a tinta que usou ?
Hi, I think this was Reflex silver VW paint. I had it left over from my T5 Transporter.
Yo thanks so much, read a load about this, none of them said the 5 second and reconnect. Worked a treat on my 2004 blade, I now have 3 keys, thanks!
Sorry did you only need 1 L of oil
No, would have been more than that. I used a 4ltr bottle. Not sure now how much of it as it was a long time ago! Sorry! Have a look at the oil capacity and go from there.
Is 1/4 W enough for the resistors?
You previous video milage was a trip A milage, not total.
Worked on hornet 2011 succesfully. With a 1k resistor. Thanks. 🤝
Great 👍
Very helpful video - many thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Does this work on a 2023 cb300r? And where to locate the cable which connects the programme cable/battery/100ohm resister? Honda have successfully hidden the battery under the tank 😠
Hi, sorry but I don’t know anything about the 23 cb300r but I would expect that if it’s still the HISS system it would be the same. The plug you need to connect to should be in approx the same location as on the video as it’s the crank sensor.
@@beanosgarage9606 thanks for your response, bought a key, cut to code with chip. The key worked without coding so the CB300R does not have HISS! The dealership did not know and wanted £200 for doing it (£80 for the key and c. 1 hours labour at £105/HR) In the meanwhile I found the 'lost' key DOH! At least I now have 3 keys. Any one want some 100ohm resistors? I have some going spare 😆
This is awesome but I don't understand,. How does the ECU or whatever know what to do. The wire just connects the battery to the sensor. The ECU would only see the sensor disconnected? ...I don't understand electronics lol
Hi! Because it senses 12 v on the CPS connection, then nothing, then 12v again... Is programmed like this.
That's the bit I don't get.. How? The CPS is completely isolated from the ecu
It’s witchcraft, just trust and believe!! 😂
Is the ECU getting 12 volts instead of a CPS signal :) @@francisfe2064 The CPS is just disconnected, and the power travels throught the wiring harness into the ECU
Bruh thats Clophill we shld meet and ride out
hey wanted to know how you plan on fixing the swingarm scratches? I think it's powder coated so dont know if it can be repaired. I'm asking cause I too have a CBR and it has a few scratches on the swingarm as well.
Hi. To be honest, it’s now been 2 years or more since having the bike and I am yet to touch them. They are not that noticeable. I don’t want to try and respray the whole thing to will probably touch up with some primer and Matt or satin black paint when I get chance.
Good luck with yours mate. Let me know how you go!
Yooo i need the link to that front stand please!
Sorry pal, no idea where it came from and no details on it. Think I picked it up second hand knowing me! Handy to be able to lift the front end though!!
Perfect ❤
Worked the first time for me, using: 1kOhm Resistor and 10A Fuse on red wire, aligator clips for black and red wires on battery makeshift connectors on sumitomo 4 HISS flashes = key programmed. Do them all, test them afterwards.
Great stuff - good work!
hello, did you know if the key are not programmed they give a spark or no? Thank you for answer!
If the key is not programmed it will not switch off the immobiliser and I don’t believe it will enable the engine to turn over.
@@beanosgarage9606 thank you a lot for answer!
Great video, can u please show how to calibrate tps sensor for 2019 cbr650r .
Sorry, no idea how to do that!
Do you have a link for the oil filter ?
Sorry, no. Search on eBay.
Worked at secon try on my africa twin! Cheers!!!!! 💪💪💪
Hi, what is the year of your Africa twin?
Can u give. Me link this resistor cheer
Ty so much!
Good job but an authorized service center recommends that they need to be changed in pairs on both wheels.
Yes, I bought 2 of them and have the other side to do. However, the reason the passenger side has gone is that it’s this side that hits all of the drains on narrow roads. So the other side is fine at the moment! I will replace it though when I have time and in better weather!
Hey about the oil whats better 10-30 or 10w-50 from motul ?
Just wondering if you know the model of the inner chip of the key.
Sorry mate, I don’t. It came with the key.
Is an standard NXP PCF7936
The best CBR500 oil and filter trailer ever!! I am way more confident to change it right now. Since I have some economically tough time, saving service money and learning to do it by myself will help me a lot. Thank you very much!
Pleased its given you the confidence and saved you some money!
@@beanosgarage9606 hi bro, i just messed up yesterday. 😂 Couldn't take the filter out(using another type of wrench), damaged and opened a lot of holes by gripping too hard, damaged the edges of bolt, it can't be healthy to use anymore. And I got a motorcycle with empty oil and trashed old oil filter at the least 😂 I had to call mechanic to home, he'll come today. Probably it's more money than just taking to mechanic in total but at least I've gained some experience. Promise I'll do it well second time!
Wow the honda started was really surprised 😂
Where you from?? Do mine for me!
Lol - I am Hertfordshire. It’s pretty easy, give it a go. If you are not confident on making the cable then you can buy them on eBay, sell it on after and it might not cost you much in total.
Hey it's me again, does this work to duplicate a key that is already in use with another ECU/bike? Or does it have to be a new unregistered key?
Good question!! To be honest I don’t know?!? I doubt it would work, I think you need an uncoded key but I could be wrong! Sorry I can’t give a clear answer!
Hey Beano's garage, looking the the service manual it states in a bullet point but not a step: The immobilizer system (HISS) enters the registration mode. Registrations of all key except the original key set near the receiver are cancelled. This is confusing I wonder if this means if a new (registered) key can be 'canceled' (cleared) so it can be used upon as if it were a new unregistered key? This is what I'm hoping
No. You cannot reuse an already programmed key. There is a "secret" that the motorcycle programs into the key transponder, that only the ECU and the transponder knows. So a key from a different motorcycle would have a different secret.
ruclips.net/video/8_5GSMxX3eM/видео.html it should be 100 ohm, not 1k ohm (1000 ohm)
Just checked and the one I used was definitely 1K ohm. 👍
,@@beanosgarage9606maybe it works within a broad range?
