I wrote "Bittersweet" when a friend lost her son and it seemed like no one around her understood her grief. I tried to capture some of the feelings associated the grief and sorrow in this song. Everyone with a heart experiences grief at sometime in their life. I hope this song, by the grace of God, will encourage healing to everyone who hear it.

(This is an experimental song) What do you get when you mix rap, jazz, and gospel? You get "Then Gone". I was attempting hip-hop, but it turned out to be closer to Jazz Poetry (a style that was popular with the Beatniks in the late 50's) The message is Christ's victory at the cross, given in rap style with smooth jazz guitar. This style might not be for everybody, but it's message of freedom is.

One night in 1980, the chorus of this song was given to me in a dream, with words and melody, as the verses came to me the next day, I realized the song was my testimony. Back when I did solo concerts at churches, this was my promo song. I enjoy using music to tell stories and the story of the Willow Tree is one of my favorites.
