Awesome playing!!
'Oh Yeah' is Right On!
How mutch is this a printed corcuit board amp can it be easly serviced by any tech while on the road unlike many boutique pricey amps ?i ment to say how mutch $ ?
First off, none of our amps have printed circuit boards. they are all hand wired turret board construction. There's a link to the website in the description above that has all of the info and pricing on the amps.
Excellent brother
Sounds good
Sounds killer. Very small difference, but not in a bad way. Hell, you couldn't get any two Marshalls to sound the same anyway. What are the Master volumes on these things like? I have a Friedman BE100 Deluxe, his master volumes are the best, but I'm dumping all the Friedman stuff. Looking into something like this or the Bogner Helios.
Master volume is great and works very well down to talking volumes.
@@mglampworks8240 Good to know, Thanks.
Awesome brother
Do you also have a demo of the second channel?
There are 3 choices for the 2 channels: high gain dirty, vintage dirty and clean. Since each amp is built to order, you can choose which 2 channel voicings you want for your amp. If interested, please contact us directly. mark@marksguitarloft.com
Go, you mad professor!! 😱🤯
🤘🤜🤛
I so need this amp.... would match perfect with the R9 I got from Mark!
Hey Joey, we can build you one!
That sounded awesome ya'll!! That is a rockin' amp!
🎉
Cool,it sounds great and big,bravo ;-)
Thanks!
got to get a 100 watt mgl... soon. great job jimmy
Im really considering having you guys build me one- im looking for this and a couple of specifics
Get in touch and we can build you an amp!
Sounds great! I got to play a Red Circuit 50 yesterday. Was a great amp. I liked it a lot.
Thanks!
👍
Demo sounds so good, perfect amount of gain, was originally thinking about a purple circuit but this sounds just right
Ready to build you one🤘👍
I really need one
I'm curious to know MGL sales. If guitarists are choosing MGL over Marshall in some cases.
Thanks for the video! Great tones, in fact, fantastic! What microphones did you use for the recording? Thanks again, nice work!🙏👍
SM57 & 421
Sounds great! What's the build time on the new MGL 50?
Thanks! Build time is 3-4 weeks right now. Email me direct of you’d like more info.
Not showing in website. 🧐 Nice description re the collaboration. 👍
I’m not sure where you are looking. The amp is listed on both the MGL AmpWorks site and the Marks’s Guitar Loft site.
great playing and tone! Killer amp for sure. .What pups are in our LP in this vid? I'd guess 498R in neck?
My God man!! This sounds so sick!!! Wicked job!
Ill trade you my 69 JMP 50w 1987T for 2 MGL's lol, but no, on the real, every time I've heard an MGL, I've been like yep, I need one! You rock at what you do!
Thank you!
How close can the MGL50 get to the 1981?
The 1981 what>?
Not at all the same type of amp. The "1981 - 2204" is a stock 2204 circuit. The new MGL50 is a highly modded Marshall voiced circuit for more aggressive, higher gain tones.
@@jamescassidy4045 MGL has three MGL50 models. This new one is just called the "MGL50", previously it was called the "MGL50 Purple Circuit" and there is another one called the "MGL50 1981 2204" often referred simply as the "1981" because it is based on Mark's 1981 Marshall 2204.
@@RichardDeJianne Hey! Thanks. That makes sense now hah.I see, he was referring to the the MGL 1981. I guess I'm still learning a bit of the Marshall lingo, and know most of it I think, but wasn't aware of the 1981, and thought he meant the year lol. Thanks bro! Also, if anyone knows any Marshall Tech's in Canada let me know, or even if you have recomendations for someone in the US let me know. Just trying to look at my options, and I know a few awesome techs in the US, but there's only one guy in Canada that I really know of ATM that I'd trust. I just want to get my 69 JMP 50 1987T worked on. It sounds pretty great, and is mostly all original besides the Power TXFM, and a few components, but the schematic just has a couple odd things going on, and I'd just like to put it back to dead stock, and get it dialled in. I was possibly maybe thinking of a 68' schematic or something also. Let me know if anyone has any recommendations/opinions. The funny thing with this amp, is it's almost sort of a cross between a normal JMP 1987, and a Black Flag, because it has a tube rectifier (no diode at all), and it looks like it was probably from the factory like that, but hard to say for sure. Has anyone ever seen a 60's/70's JMP 50/100 that had a stock tube rectifier before?
@@RichardDeJianne Close but not all correct. The new MGL50 takes the place of the MGL50 Red Circuit not the Purple, the Purple is still in the line-up.
This sounds exactly like what ive been chasing for so long., i need one
We're ready to build you one!
Looking forward to mine!
Awesome playing dude! These amps are INCREDIBLE! I love my MGL 50 Purple circuit. It's great to see a video that showcases the lighter side of these amps. Such great versatility. I use mine in AC/DC tribute and a Social Distortion/Ness tribute. They really cover all the bases with the greatest of ease! 🤘🤘
Setting the EQ to your neck pickup is a really smart idea.
Damn I like this guy.
The tone that Jimmy gets from these s second to none.
Jimmy does always get great tones!! I'm actually playing on this demo also.
That sounds great!
🤘👍
Sounds rippin man. Any chance you could do a thrash style demo?
Thanks! Unfortunately none of us here play in the thrash style.
@@mglampworks8240 damn, I'm saving up for something like your amps and I'm looking for references
Wicked🤘🎸🌵👍
Kickstart my heart is almost dead on with the tone, lots of low end! Very interested in seeing more with this amp
Great job, Mark! It would be so interesting to hear some of these guys comments if you had identified the Amplifiers opposite to the reality… 😉
Agreed 100%!! Many think they hear a difference with their eyes because one says Marshall. 🙄
Greenbacks!
Congratulations Mark, great effort, sounds awesome. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤙
The biggest differences are when played at low gain. The MGL is a bit more compressed and splatty on the string attack. As I'm more of a 70s guy, the Marshall wins for me. Once they are boosted, the nuances are more difficult to hear.
Man, that sounds killer!
Wow, it really captures the 2204 jmp mojo… I only missed the “rocker switch” 👏👏👏👏 Pd: I’m waiting for Zach Wish demo…
Amazing to me it 2024 & you still have to put a pedal in front of it lol for 2500$ 5000$ a joke
I don't think so, these and 2204s were built primarily with tone in mind. For massive distortion you can buy any solid state amp or a tube amp with a diode in it. For massive gain think of tubes used to saturate other tubes. Eddie did it by chaining Marshall amps together. I do it by running a Hafler Hellrazor preamp into the front of 1 or 2 2204s. Enjoy modeling amps if you wish, I agree the bang for the buck is in inexpensive iterations of these. Beware, though. Once you listen to a bunch of tubes screaming at their limit, you can never go home. It's like leaving Toyland, there's no way to go back, and you won't even want to. If you really love guitar, sometimes the bang is worth the bucks.
@kurtbader9711 I wish I new someone who had won love too check it out ,play some doom COC & Electric wizard
Only difference is the same difference you would hear between two 1981 2204’s. Curious where the masters were set as this could have been more telling.
All of the settings are listed above in my description. Master volumes were both at 4.
I would be hard impressed to tell them apart, great job.
