Watch videos from The Warped Tour in the early days. Tom played the song pretty much note perfect. Not sure what happened but by the time Enema Of The State came out he was already so cocky that he barely cared about performing the old songs as they should be. This version with Matt is pretty lifeless. Sadly, a bit like with Smashing Pumpkins, when you start replacing key members that were there for most of the band's life, replicating the chemistry is just not possible.

I was devastated when I heard Tom left the band. Next to Johnny Cash he was my favorite musician who inspired me to play guitar and be a Musician myself. Plus I thought Mark and Travis would get +44 back together or let one of the guitarist from the side band to tour with them Like Craig Fairbaugh or Shane Gallagher But Matt Skiba is really cool too

+Nick A Honestly, Skiba's not the most amazing performer in existence, so I can believe that Stephan can perform better than him. The only thing that sets Skiba apart is that he's friends with Mark and Travis. They wouldn't let some random guy off the streets replace Tom.

CoalGravel matt is an awesome performer, it just hard to just put urself in a new band and automatically kill it, hes still figuring out his place on stage and how mark and travis run the shows, so once he plays a lot of shows, hell be great. and as for the singing and playing, he had to learn 40 blink songs he said, and he had never played or sang before rehearsals, so he cant just get it right away. and if this kid thinks hes better than skiba, then why isnt he in 2 of the most successful pop-punk bands of today

Matt is a good performer, a good guitarist, songwriter, and an okay singer. Being better than him at those things isn't impossible, even if Stephan is probably just an overweight internet warrior.

I can't deny his influence on my own music). His voice is cute and punchable (but I understand why it's missed), but I would feel bad if I punched him . . . like I would if I punched a precocious eleven-year-old in the face. He makes Matt Skiba seem as badass as an 80s action-hero by comparison which is hilarious, and I'll thank you for the lulz. He'll always have a place in my heart though, and I love his music . . .
