This thing needed an upgraded oil pump first start. I did a oil pump headers and a Hughes intake on a 360 and that thing will make the tans work and burn 30's and I'm still running a V6 trans

Quick question ? Does anyone have an Ideal how to keep the grills on this truck from breaking all the time ???

All that crap that was in valley, has went through the oil pump and trashed your bearings. That’s the bad oil pressure.

I think you've done a good job, keeping within a limited budget . It sounds good. Its a neat truck. I have a '99 D150 le that I'm working on. Same engine. Took a while to get it running because it had been setting in a backyard for many years but once it started it ran so nice I decided I'd fix the rust (windshield driprail and the floor that it leaked on) but that's the only rust on it! It's a Texas truck. So bodywork come's first and just like you I've never done that before but I'm going to jump right into it! These old RAMs are great project's. Good luck to ya.

You need an engine overhaul. That much gunk in the valley means rings are packed , bearing copper is showing I'd bet anything, pick up and oil pump? Lack of oil changes is bad news all way round.

Great video friend ! For anyone’s doing this installation on car lift when wheels are not touching ground, it’s suggested that final tightening and adjustment must be done when car is standing on ground that will prevent unnecessary squealing or noises from suspension working while driving. Whiteline sway bars are good quality 👍🏻 great choice ! Cheers🇨🇦

So I rebuilt the 5.2 in my Dakota, with the 20-746-9 Comp cam and use the Hughes airgap. Been running over a year now with headers, no cat, it gutted itself but I will be replacing it. Single 2.5 back with 1 flow master 40. Sounds mean and has a nice lope at idle. Definitely sounds like a muscle car now. Might wanna check your oil pickup on your pump. Previous owner never changed the oil so it had a lot of hard sludge packed into the screen hence little to no oil pressure at times.

Can we get an update PLEASE. Its been a WHOLE YEAR. i kinda need to know the results

Great trucks I drove one as my daily driver for a year as well. Mine had the 371 gas burner with the automatic tranny. I loved that old truck. But decide to trade it from 7 mpg to a Dodge Ram 50 and 25mpg instead. I loved that old truck too.

We need an update

I got a 97 Jeep grand Cherokee 4.0 6 cylinder 4x4 with a 242 transfer case.. Excellent running Jeep very clean but down side I bought it for 1800 and it has no front drive shaft so I need the transfer link kit and a front drive shaft to hopefully get it working. It’s in 2wd at the moment.. I bought new headlight assembly and spark plugs and wires and distributor cap and 6 fuel injectors tore out after market wires that was poorly installed and got a Sony stereo and Sony speakers.. had to replace all window regulators because only one window rolled down. It dropped oil pressure at idle but not when accelerating but since I did a complete oil change and fuel injectors it stays normal at idle and acceleration. Strong running Jeep the engine is actually quiet and smooth the transmission switches gear amazing and no wheel wobble I can drive 85 mph with no problem. The a/c and heat work.. I did a lot over the last 2 weeks now about to get this lift kit that your installing and maybe 31 inch tires. I put the flowmaster super 10 on it as well.. I love my Jeep. Thanks for sharing this video looking forward to doing what you are doing in this video.. 🤘🏼

Where did.you get you truck tuned I put a 496 lift cam in my 5.9 and will need it tuned.

What retainer locks did you use?

Have you had any problems?
