How to become more proficient masking up with your gloves on. The goal should be to get mask up times under 20 seconds.

Fricking STUD.
My fire chief doesn't allow leather chin straps 😢
Have a nice day. Officer
Great job sir by Robert.Tamilnadu safety Council.Secretary
I've never seen this before. Holding the helmet and chinstrap on the arm, so the strap is on the inside of the air line is such a great idea. All departments should teach this.
My state academy teaches to you put your chin into the mask, cover your face, then pull the webbing back over your head. Most videos I see are the opposite.
Is this the man from fit to fight fire? Sure sound similar and both are studs!
One and the same
Super effective ! Thanks Where can I find your gloves please ?
They are just the standard firedex gloves. I get a size smaller than whats comfortable
Where can I find a chin strap like that? And would it fit with the Honeywell helmet?
I was wondering the same thing!
i found some on the fire store
What length is your chin strap?
30"
@@eastmetrofire Awesome. Thanks man!!
I notice that none of these guys have mask hanging straps. Our Firehawks do. Do you just take them off? Is there a reason I should keep it on? We are issued our own masks so It is attached to my bunker gear but not my respirator . This is new for us, we used to hang the masks in the truck or on the rack by the strap for them to dry. I find it just gets in the way anyways. More to get snagged with. Any thoughts would certainly be appreciated.
I tried looking up your mask online and I could not find a picture of what youre talking about. Could you send me a picture of it? We don't have any hanging straps on ours. I am not sure why you would need one.
@@eastmetrofire Hey thanks for getting back to me . I’ll try and send you a picture. Basically it’s a strap to wear around your neck for carrying. Of all the videos I’ve watched nobody seems to be wearing it haha. Makes sense why not to have it. I’m a 13 year veteran and my hall has just always had them. So I didn’t really know any better. But after watching you guys now I do. I’m going to take mine off. My mask up time now is approximately 14 seconds but I want to make that faster. Thanks again for the great video stay safe brother.
@@eastmetrofire mask is MSA M7 fire hawk most pictures I see don’t have straps. Maybe it’s a custom thing our hall added when purchased. I was on the turnout gear committee but not scba.
@@stevepaskin2863 I know exactly what you're talking about. We have a few guys with them here. I personally like to keep mine either slung over my pack or clipped to my SCBA. Great job on those mask up times!
hello, what gloves do you have?
where did you get your long leather chin strap from
Chris, you probably purchased one months ago, but for anyone seeking a longer chinstrap, West Coast Fire Helmets sells one. It's leather, length is good, helps with mask-up. I have no affiliation with them, or with the guys who posted this video. Just commenting in case someone else is wondering.
Awesome video. Really enjoyed reading what not to do and then seeing the out take of "why". Fantastic visual! Keep up the solid work Stalowy. Cheers from Cside!
