In my opinion, they should of been given JUVENILE LIFE, until the age of 25, with heavy focus on mental health counseling.. and supervised release until 30.. that should of been the max.. in my opinion..

Some of the greatest minds who have shaped our world, have learned from mistakes that they used to shape thier future for the positive.. throwing away CHILDREN is a mistake that could be wasting future leaders, or child advocates who steer many away from the same path..

So a child's brain before 18 isn't developed enough to buy alcohol, join the military, or vote in our elections? But it's developed enough to spend their entire lives in prison? Can't have it both ways people..

Was this judge aware that Jacob was abused in the worst possible way by his parents?!? Or was he in with them?

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time,if he's old enough to kill and plan it out and know it's wrong then he is old enough to take the consequences.kids know right from wrong at 5years old.problem with teens these days is they think they will get away with it because of being underage that's why they kill before they are legally accountable.the system needs to stop babying these sociopaths and try them as adults.if they can do animalistic crimes then they should be treated as such and throw those animals in the clink aka prison.

The idea that erasing a pedophile and child abuser from the earth is a crime is insane, especially if the act is committed by the victim.

Here's what I think should apply: - For juveniles, trial as an adult should be limited to certain very serious offences - I hear about the argument that trial as an adult allows for jury trial, but it should be very rare for juveniles to be tried as adults nonetheless. Only a judge should be permitted to decide whether or not trial as an adult should go ahead - prosecutors shouldn't be allowed to file charges in adult court directly. - Where a juvenile is being tried in an adult court, in the event of a guilty verdict, the court should have the same sentencing options that the juvenile court has. Juveniles should never be sent to adult prisons. - Life without parole should only be permitted for offences committed when the offender was at least 18 years old.

Oh yeah, I'm wondering if those objecting to his sentence would have him in their homes, around their children. Leave him right where he is and right where he belongs. Because he's saying all the right things but I would never trust him, he's not done yet.

I just visited to this castle a few days ago. The only freaky thing I saw was a mangy looking teddy bear in the servants quarters with a sign on it that said that it was placed there to appease the spirits or something to that effect. That was at the very end of the tour. I had no idea it was supposed to be haunted until I saw that teddy bear. Eh, whatever. I'm a child of the King. I'm not afraid of demons masquerading as the deceased. They can't touch me. But had I know this was allegedly haunted I would have spent the day at garden of the gods instead. Or even went up on Pikes Peak. I don't like to give the potential demons any of my time. To me that's like buying a book written by a criminal. I don't want that criminal to profit off their crime. And I don't give time or thought to demons lurking around in castles.

Jacob has been released on parole from prison. He is in Colorado.

people have to understand, when you've been through sooo many horrible things in life (especially as a child) you just become emotionally detached after a while, it's like your just numb.. that's why he looks blank.. His parents were literally sexually, emotionally, and physically abusing him and his brother... I'm against murder completely but I don't feel any empathy for his parents at all.. LWOP is too tough. I mean why not 30 years then a chance of parole? The nutcases would never get out...but the ones that changed, especially the under 18's could be completely different people 30,40+ year further on. To take away all hope at 12-18 is barbaric! Death would be kinder!

I done a lil bit of time with Jacob. I can sincerely believe that he has accepted the wrong that he committed and is able to conduct him self in a lawful manner.

I knew Gabriel Adams very well. We were friends in North Carolina before he moved. He was brilliant. He was also very shy. I don't know what went wrong to make him kill two people. Gabriel killed himself a few years ago while he was serving out his life sentence.

Some FACTS about the case: His step father molested him and his brother since they were 5 years old. His mother would give them ENEMAS to get them ready for their step dad. The older brother even testified that the dad would tie them up and masturbate in front of them, then would call THEM filthy and tell them to go clean themselves up. Search RUclips for the video, it was very real and happened. The mom would force jacob to give her oral sex. Many people can testify to this. The older brother ran away from home and tried to get protective services to take Jajcob out the home but no one would listen. His mom would tell him she wished she never had him.

Society should offer more options to abused children

Jacob Ind deserves a metal and never should have served one day behind bars. He's a hero in my eyes.

When a child is sentenced to life that young we need to do evaluations Before 40 years not saying that they will get out but 40 years is only going to condition them to the wrong way of life not the right way of life prisoners especially our young children prisoners do not get the treatment or the education that they need to survive in a full functioning Society after being locked away for 40 years some of those 40 years including their most important growing times 40 years is only going to condition them to be bad we need to concentrate on what it takes to save these young people and make them good

Been abuse has nothing to do with it, no matter what kids or big people may have gone through in life, it shouldn't lead them to kill no one, to hate is stupid, love is always the best, my father had treated me bad in many different ways that could of cause me to hate him, but I had try not to let it over power me, and after my mom die and I had the chance to get from around him, I did, don't kill no one if don't really have to do so, its best to leave them to god plus get away from around them, keep them far from u, its not nice to hate.

in most european countries the maximum penalty for minors is ten years. heartbreaking to see how in america children get sentenced to decades od prison, without really considering what happened to turn a child into a killer.

In my opinion, no child should ever be tried as an adult. I still think the proper adult age is 18. In Jacob Ind's case, he committed the murder, that much is known. However, his reasoning deserves sympathy and given his age I doubt he was thinking clearly about the consequences of his actions, kind of like battered person syndrome. I say in the case of a juvenile, 5 years in a juvenile facility unless they reach 18, then transfer to an adult facility. After those 5 years, review the case and determine, "Is this person a threat to other people?" If not, begin the releasing process.

Kid criminals and teen criminals should never be treated like adult criminals.they are too young be treated like adults.

I adore Jacob, he is wise. He had reasons. Jacob does not deserve life without parole. How he has handled the situation and matured is incredible. He is inspirational. God bless the poor soul.
