Them straps <3yrs. old?
Hammer down Jim!
That’s why you need a half twist. That’s from the strap drumming in the wind as you drive. You can wear them through on the flat vertical surfaces of the can as well. The one you showed is obvious and takes less time, but if you move one a few days down the road, your stead will be shiny and worn all over the place.
I yes it true . I just go 500km up the road . I’m just showing that’s it is important to walk around and check every time you stop as you never know even if you do everything right there is still a possibility of something can be not right
C D L driver, responsibility, load securement, 4 pins hold that can on a chassis, 2 chains and 4 bommer work for me
The four usually worn out pins are a joke. “Two chains and four boomers” isn’t enough unless they’re really big chains and the container has nothing in it. Hopefully the DOT doesn’t know either.🤷🏻♂️
It really is up to us to keep the absolute idiots around us on the road safe. I don’t know a single truck driver without anger management issues from dealing with the stupidity.
I don’t know if they still use it or not but those big monster tires. They used to have a bead guard on them. They make excellent chain and strap guards when cut to the proper length they’re about an inch thick super hard rubber.
Chain down , front and back corners Strap are not for metal loads. You just ruined a good strap young man. Also use a strap guard . Between Your hooked wrong as well You need help green horn
The can is empty strap are ok for the load . Thank you for watching and commenting.
Straps are not for metal cans , you can be sure I've put in more miles then you wish to listen. Your choice driver . Straps get cut by metal straight edges . Keep replacing them. I mean Straps and ratchets are free you don't buy them after all...
Good job.. do the extra 10% effort, and it will become a habit of nearly, not having to worry about your load, because you did it correctly from the start
Thanks for watching
@@Off-grid-n-trucking It us something you can use in many aspects of life. Not just work.. Give that extra 10% of yourself and rest easy, like with the kids, or making dinner. The reward in the long run, will be worth it.. On the job, most customers will like you if your effort is always that standard, and the boss never has to worry about you busting up stuff and calls from police
Respect 😊
That’s the south to us up north lol
Where you from chum
@@Off-grid-n-trucking Yellowknife but I’m in the process of moving to tri_
Tri-town. Dang computers. Should be down that way latter in the summer
Sweet ride Jim!
Thank you so much Jimmy ... retired old trucker here ... I really miss the road, 20 years OTR Reefer ... went tanker driving one season for JADE but they had me on a boring scheduled run .... loved riding along with you my friend even though it kinda hurt .... THANKS

Good video, Jim. 👍🏽 you have some pretty cool camera angles.
Thanks I enjoy doing it
Absolutely brilliant video sir I just subscribe to your channel. I love the sound of your truck you think you could please do a really really long ASMR and cat video of you starting the truck up and driving it because that would be so awesome. I love those kinds of videos stay safe man. I hope all is well with you and have a great one.
Well thank for subscribing I have many other videos if you look into the channel. I am working on editing a 1hr long video at the moment 😊

Sweet riding! If I ever see ya in Chelmsford I’ll stop in!
That ride up to Chelmsford is a scenic one. Good video, Jim.👍🏽
🤣🤣🤣 crazy dexter .....
Keep er rubber side down my friend ;)......
For sure thanks for watching 😊
Great video. I ran that road a lot. Would rather truck in the winter than any other time. 74 years old and still in the business only I broker freight. Sold the truck years ago. I just subscribed. 100% agree about making and keeping your own lane in the snow. Greetings from the Arrowhead of MN.
Ya not too many experienced drivers left out here . I’m 49 years old driving since I was little with my dad . Got shown the right away how to drive.. lost of seat time before I got my license. I was 21 the first time in the states . I remember me and my friend backing up trains at a truck stop him and I side by side in a parking space. When we got out of the truck there was a couple old timers looking at us all impressed lol
So cool you learned the right way!!
Awesome video!
You still have snow up there??😂🤓 Good video Jim. I like the commentary. 👍🏽
Yes actually it snowed just the other day by temagamie 😜
Nice clean interior
I tried to keep it clean. I will put up a video of the entire interior soon.
I recognize that sexy Peterbilt parked beside you in the thumbnail. 😎👍🏽
Well Rolling 👍 What is the name of the tires on the tractor, is it winter?
I have made two short videos on the tires if you look on my videos if you can’t find it I’ll try to post them to you

How long have we been rolling straps & never thought of that!?!😂
I know right
Imagine driving manual in a truck… i could never
It’s not that hard once you understand the mechanics of the transmission
@@Off-grid-n-trucking i understand range and split gear.. but im simply too lazy. If i cant turn my stoveknob to D or R im putting in my notice 👀 im european so theres a lot of stop & go in a day
Yes I understand the local delivery but here we have lost of open country compared to Europe
