Consistency will win in the long run. Your workouts don't have to be super fancy to get the job done. If you treat working out like a part of your lifestyle and not a chore, you'll realize that even the brisk walks 5 times a week is better than the one off 5 mile run you only do once a month. As a former professional athlete who was accustomed to Olympic level workouts, I've had to shift my perspective in retirement and embrace the types of workouts that fit my lifestyle.
