The Autism Hero Project is a 501c3 non-profit organization that "Prepares kids with autism for the world and prepares the world for them."
Our Mission: Promote autism awareness, change public policy and the way the world does business with a workforce that is intentional about inclusion. We help those in need by sponsoring medical insurance coverage for children to access Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy to attain the life skills they need to be successful.

A Hero's Journey: Why Autism Matters - Stories of Love and Autism on the Spectrum presented by AHP
❤ Hola soy mama de un niño autusta.
ABA therapy, is await for the trauma it caused to hit. It's something that happens, the therapy does work but that trauma later in life crashes in, hit me 40 years after. All shame I felt for being autistic. I know the therapists didn't mean to that. It's that I learned to hide a part of myself to act as Neuro Typical people expected me to. It taught me to mask well which allowed me to get good job in IT, get married, have kids, and such. Eventually the bill come due though. That deep seat trauma of hiding your real self out fear and shame when you find the mask to hard to keep on. Just something to keep in mind with the kids as become adults, that mask ABA teaches you wear gets heavy with more responsibilities. But honestly I'd not have a 6 figure job with out that therapy allowing me to mask well enough to beat a job intereview.
