The big problem lies with the kind of leadership the phiippine armed forces have. The loop holes and weaknesses of the country's procurement law has been taken advantaged by its military leaders, the house of senate and congress and lastly malacanan palace. These people sacrifice the real budget allotment for a total and effective package as a primary deterent to external threats, but instead, the military leaders' poor understanding of the standard specifications and lack of respect for the need of such complete hardware package plus the looming disgrace of "percentage incentive or commission rebate" will end up buying minimum standard, incomplete and utterly inferior hardwares. Its embarrasing to note that the peoples money is wasted in the pockets of the unscrupulous and the weapons needed by the country to protect itself is not worth the pride and respect that it is owed to the Filipino people...

They keep saying the A-10's are aging and it's expensive to maintain them. They still have the plans. Reopen the production line and build new ones with the advanced avionics. If it effective why change it. The F-35 is a good plane but the A-10 is a flying tank that works.
