The Dark Knight, Rachel's letter IMAX 1.43:1 15/70 restoration [ver2]
this restoration overlays the 1.778:1 imax sequence from the bluray (1080p) on top of the 1.333:1 dvd (480p) in order to get a height advantage in the frame, and also to show how it might have looked like in actual 15/70 imax theatres, note that this is not entirely accurate to what it would look like in actual imax theatres though (for example the missing corners might be fully filled in actual 1.43 theatres)

this is a restoration i did of the dark knight in 4:3 instead of 1.43:1 since there is no source for this scene in imax 1.43 but a fullscreen DVD that uses 4:3 ratio instead.

1:47 this moment mirrors back to Batman Begins when Bruce was just a boy and had lost his parents. The scene when he’s out looking down the window as he’s waving Rachel goodbye. Alfred comes in and says: “I thought I’d prepare a little supper…very well then.” As he turns to leave a young grieving Bruce. He calls out to him and it’s a very touching moment as Alfred comforts him. Alfred has always been there for Bruce. On his two darkest days. Back when he lost his parents and Rachel’s passing as well.
I really wish I watched this for the first time in IMAX 70 mm when it was first re-released. Now I don't know when I'll be able to again.
