If you use a plate, it has to hold at least a cup of water to allow it to float, and no paper plate. The paper plate will soak up the water.

You could use a safety pin, but keep it closed. We don’t want you getting pricked/poked. You may need to place something between the popsicle stick and the safety pin so you can press it on and off of the battery.

There aren't any specific size, you can make it any size you want it to be as long as you have the right pieces (pvc parts, pvc elbow parts, wooden boards, glue gun/glue stick, a screw, mat board, etc).

you could try the following - try using a wider tip dry-erase marker, sometimes if the tip is too thin it may come off stringy, place it in the water slowly, take your time, and remove it very slowly, draw a larger image. Give these a try! And, never give up!

Try it again, don't give up! Be sure to use dry erase markers (brand new works best), tap or luke warm water and pour slowly. Best colors to use are red and black.
