Hello! I don't really post anything. :)
Maria Khoreva, age 14 | Vaganova
Footage of Mariinsky Ballet First Soloist Maria Khoreva at age 14. She graduated from the Vaganova Academy in 2018, graduation class of Lyudmila Kovaleva.
I apologize for the poor quality; RUclips made the videos grainy. In the ballet class footage, Maria is the one under the painting.
All of these videos belong to Maria Khoreva. None belong to me. They were found in Maria’s early Instagram posts.

This is a rare phenomenon when someone has a huge natural talent combined with the best training. She might be the best I have ever seen
❤
Мило очень мило🎉
The 2014 video is not an exam , it’s just a ballet class
Thank you for correcting me! I made this video a long time ago and obviously didn't do enough research, haha.
Sorry 2015**
Так вот почему великолепно танцует Мария 😍
This is just sad..I hope she will take care of her body one day.Wish her the best.Vaganova is not a good place for anyone.

It seems like she wasn't in pointe shoes until she was 14/15. At least she wasn't wearing them for some (or all) of her exam. I think Americans put dancers into pointe shoes way too early, before their feet and ankles are really strong enough. Some girls as young as 11 or 12 are in pointe shoes when their bones simply aren't strong enough. I know girls can't wait for pointe shoes, but too early can lead to injuries and poor form.
Or maybe you’re simply and extremely wrong. The Vaganova academy puts girls in pointe during their first year in which they are all 10-11 years old, all the girls no matter if they have done ballet before or not work in flat shoes the first half of the year, after an exam in which they evaluate the girls they put them on pointe for the second half of the year, the ones who fail the exam because of lack of technique or strength are expelled. The first and second year are simple exercises on pointe which enhance the strength of the toes, the real rough stuff begins in the third year. Absolutely all the exams in each grade have exercises and combinations on pointe, there’s always an order and that is exercises at the bar, center in flat and finally center in pointe, this happens in ALL GRADES, you’ve clearly haven’t even bother to look at a complete exam before giving you’re opinion students of a professional school that has been doing this for centuries. The whole debate about what is the proper age to put girls on pointe is complicated, 11 will always be the best age to start with girls who have already been dancing for years, Vaganova for example is able to accept students who haven’t gotten a single ballet class before and are completely new to ballet, so as I said before they work for half a year in strength and proper technique, then present the said exam and the best girls who approve the exam will be introduced to pointe, the ones who fail and are simply not good enough or can’t catch up will be expelled instead of putting them on pointe. And as always, It depends on the person and the school, a girl who has natural good arches and learns quickly will be put in pointe faster than a girl who could have been doing ballet for a while, but is naturally weak in her feet and needs more time to learn, and of course you can’t compare Vaganova training to a local ballet school in your city,
Vaganova ballet academy puts their students en pointe in the first year when they’re 10-11🤦🏽♀️
She’s 14 in this video and doing most difficult pointe work. So how can you say that she didn’t start pointe until she was 14 or 15? 🤔😉
Literally amazing 💖💪🏼
She's kind of scary. I see a 14 year old that talented and wonder, what did it take to achieve that? How much did she sacrifice?
Khoreva has the most exquisite feet, the most luxurious legs, and astounding control. She dances so slowly and with such delicacy, strength, and finesse. She's a marvel. Now, as a full ballerina, her Giselle is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. It is a physical and artistic triumph.
how is she so good i acctually don't understand
My queen.
Her developpé à la seconde en pointe ending in arabesque is beautiful beyond words. God bless her!
Is there anyone Indian here is watching this video for inspirations
Brava .Sei leggera💕
Nice!
OMG. Those last few seconds! Unreal.
Dang!
Anorexia in a tutu
She could be the Russian Sylvie Guillem. If only she’d let go off of that tension.
Greate 💝💝💝
AND SHE IS FRICKIN 14?
💕✨
I’m her age in this video of her- 1 year younger. She’s so amazing. I really hope I can excel in my sport like her. I swim, but she is still a huge inspiration to me
Ballet is not a sport. It’s an art
@@jennykhenven3058 I don't think she referred to ballet as a sport. She swims, that's a sport, and she was talking about how she wishes to excel in swim (a sport) like how maria khoreva excels in ballet.
@@Ahjgf-L oh, makes sense. Thanks))
@@jennykhenven3058 ballet is also a sport
@@bellatciao Bo it’s not. Just because it’s physically challenging doesn’t mean it’s a sport. Playing tube is also physically challenging and it’s not a sport.
Me at 14 couldn't even do a double
Amazing and so perfect. I wish I could do that. Brilliant talent
Amazing 💐👏🥰
Ok..l that’s just nauseating in the best way possible.
上手すぎる。綺麗すぎる。
🇫🇷. Des exercices pour élèves très talentueuses👍♥️♥️♥️♥️
🌸Lovely🌸
i remember seeing those vids on her insta back then... i was still dancing :( she’s above amazing
Amazing balance 🩰👍🌺
Undoubtedly she has exquisite lines, Precision and flexibility... But I never seen to connect with her dancing, it almost feels like too perfect and empty :( anyone else feel that?
agree. sometimes I think she mistakes ballet for gymnastics.
.Every ballerina has such a personal way of expressing. Maybe her way of expressing might be difficult to understand. She is passionate about dance. She even has videos where she says all about the history of ballet 🩰 Have a blessed day!
@@Vanilla-Sargeant I never doubted that, I just don't like her style of expression personally
Unfortunately I can’t say I disagree with you there. However, just in my experience, a lot of younger dancers do tend to focus on technique. Makes sense as they typically haven’t had much life, world or stage experience at that age. It’s usually in the corps de ballet that they start to develop stage presence and understand character. Maria’s high level of technique seemed to let her bypass the corps stage, but I have hope. She’s young and has plenty of time to improve - as well as world class Mariinsky coaching, which I imagine helps lol.
It's simply possessing skill but not talent, and determination but not passion.
The fourteen year olds at my local ballet school don't look anything like this. They're kind of lumpy, podgy, very awkward, and just not all that good.
lumpy?
that's the vaganova academy for you ... where your professional dreams are crushed by every other 10 y.o. student who's already better than you'll ever be😅
Well that’s kinda rude to just call them downright bad at dancing it’s a school they r there to learn if you think your better than them why are you going to the school
@@kyleekroh2181 yeah that's what I was thinking.
Just remember those you are referring to are not even in class 5 days a week and not taking a few hours of class a day. They are putting in a minimal amount of work just to tell someone "I have point shoes". If they cared they'd find some proper classes and instructors. 💗
И шесть дислайков от мам тех, кто так не смогут никогда...
wow her hyper extension 😅
where did you see any hyperextension?
14歳の時からレベチすぎて脳がバグるこれでまだ14歳なのかよ…
