Thanks for watching! What was the other anime you recognized his voice from? I've seen none of season 7 and have managed to avoid spoilers so far. Trying to go into it with OP blind when we finally get there. But I do agree, the Todoroki family dynamic, and Shoto's growth over the series is really good! They are probably my favorite part of the story not related to One For All/Deku. We don't really sweat the algorithm at this point. We have fun recording these and I have fun editing them. It's a good hobby and gives us a chance to catch up every week even though we live hundreds of miles away. It would probably help if I posted more consistently, but we've got no plans of stopping any time soon! :) Thanks again for watching and commenting! The anime is called Clannad and Clannad After Story. The voice actor's David Matranga and he plays the main character, Tomoya. The main female lead, Nagisa, is played by the same actress as Uraraka (Luci Christian). They've both been in the industry for awhile so they've got quite the resume. If you ever want to see what voice actors play a character look up the character name at Behind the Voice Actors. It'll tell you the VAs for the show and then you can click on the VA and it'll give a list of their work with a pic of each character they did. The anime is probably not something you guys would be interested in but its got a relatively deep, wholesome and emotional story. At a certain point my husband and I got so invested that we cried at a particular episode and took a break for a week to recover. I'm genuinely surprised you've been able to avoid spoilers for MHA this year. It'll be fun when you finally get to S7 as a totally blind reaction.

No issues like that yet! Fingers crossed we continue to avoid it - we should with the amount of cuts I make! We are doing well. Work has been slamming me so my editing time has not been there as much as I wanted it to be. Our biggest issue currently is just time constraints. It took us a while to find it, and between our recording date and now, it is no longer available, so I honestly don't know. Which is a problem because I don't know where we will watch OVA 2 when we get to that point. :(

Ah, you're right. Buuuut, I still think with the amount of ground he covers in every step and how fast he moves, they *shouldn't* have been an issue. Story-wise I get why he can't just blow through everything, but still. Can't wait to get to some of the episodes where he really shows off his top speed. :) Thanks for watching, as always! -Fisch

I hadn't heard that theory - that would be pretty cool. I do imagine just psychologically that it would have to in a lot of cases. That's the kind of thing I love about anime and Japanese media - the names actually mean things a lot of times. Like the names of the main characters and rivals in Kuroko's Basketball all pertaining to who they actually are. As opposed to western media where the name might mean something sometimes, but it's based in some Latin word that nobody would know off the top of their head.

Ooooh, very interesting. Let us know if there are any other little things like that, if you are aware of them. I feel like a lot of anime do have those kind of wordplay things, where if you aren't a native speaker, you're gonna miss it because it doesn't translate well over dubs or subs, and they either don't take the time to create something similar, or literally can't, like in the case of the word Dekiru...idk how you'd port that over to English and keep the secondary meaning.

Hahahaha! Cancel Culture is absolutely fantastic! I love it! And the millennial bit - I can totally relate. As for the quirk inspirations, I would never have guessed that. Maybe it's just me as a fairly un-creative person, but it is amazing to me that people can just come up with that kind of stuff just looking at everyday situations. I love it!

Nice! You are pretty much spot on there. The next couple of weeks is a bit weird because of scheduling, but we will be sure to watch the OVA next! Oh shoot, seriously?? Thanks for the correction! I'll make sure to bring it up in the next episode we do (EP 12). I must have just assumed based on some of how he acts sometimes, like how freaked out he is when he, Deku and Tsuyu end up on the boat in the USJ (we just finished recording that one the other day). Or maybe I assumed just based on how he kind of reminds me of some people who have ended up in positions they weren't the most suited for based on "recommendations". I'm glad somebody likes him! However, I do have a list that I've found of episodes with post-credit scenes, so we will be sure to include those as we move forward! I have seen Two Heroes and Heroes Rising, but not the most recent one. It's honestly been a bit so I don't remember tons about them. I do remember having problems with the end of Heroes Rising, but I'm not sure if I would have the same issue on a rewatch. I'll make sure we check those out at the appropriate times! I'm not exactly sure - are they considered canon? Or is it more like the old school DBZ movies that didn't really fit in with the story/timeline a lot of times? I have not seen the OVAs. I honestly didn't even think to check on them! Thanks for pointing it out - I'll take a look and work to make sure we fit them in where they belong! Watch it as a sort of Prologue for the movie (Disclaimer: If you stay a dub watcher, everything up to this point can only be watched in sub as they were never originally dubbed. Everything beyond this point has a Dub however) Movie 1, Two heroes: Takes place after season 2, Before season 3 OVA 4, Make it! Do-or-Die survival training: Takes place during a small time skip in season 3 episode 15. Can be watched before episode 15 if you want, but must be watched after episode 14 OVA 8, U.A Heroes battle: Takes place after season 5 episode 12, before episode 13. The good news is that there is definitely content that I haven't seen that we will eventually get to, so you'll get them eventually. Thanks for the suggestion! I actually really enjoy their channel and know exactly what you are talking about. It is definitely something we considered before starting, but this being our first stab at it, I wanted to make sure I was careful of copyright and fair use issues - hence the way small, partially covered video and all the cuts. (I also didn't want to just straight up copy their format, even though I'm with you - it works *really* well for them.) The good news is that the stuff I'm cutting really doesn't have any "reaction" from us, and since I've seen it I'm hopefully avoiding cutting anything super important story-wise. The bad news though, is obviously that you miss that piece of the episode, and also because we didn't pause it, we talk over a lot of the episode. I definitely get how that may not be ideal. We've got a few more in the chamber already but changing formats to something like that could definitely happen depending on how everything goes. We will keep the conversation open and adjust as necessary.
