Life As a New Truck Driver - Is it Worth it?
Being a truck driver is incredibly exhausting due to the long hours on the road, often with minimal breaks. The physical toll of sitting for extended periods, coupled with the mental strain of constant alertness, can lead to fatigue and burnout. The isolation from loved ones and limited access to healthy food or proper rest only intensify the exhaustion, making it one of the most demanding jobs out there.

NEW RIDER (BUYS LITER BIKE FOR FIRST BIKE)!!!

New Rider Buys BMW S1000RR As First Bike. "update"!!!! After riding my BMW S1000RR for the past 2 1/2 years I feel I'm a lot more wiser than I was when I bought this bike. Would I Suggest any new rider to start on a liter-bike? Not exactly but that's not a complete no. My whole philosophy was if you can take it slowly and build up your comfort level than yes, because the bike has so many safety...
how do you check your lights from outside? Do you have some sort of remote?
Looks like you barely have 10 lbs of pressure on your winches
Respect to you sir 💯
Dang man keep up the videos def inspired me to record my trucking journey I’m planning to go to orientation next month
How much those turds weigh
Hey! Does melton pay for half parking on home time ?
@@Ode2squatchyy yup, usually reimburse on the following check
@@michaelthomas7408 thank you man! I’m currently out with my trainer rn and wanted to confirm! (I have xp in dry van, but requested to go with a trainer for more securement practice) appreciate the fast response!
I am in CDL school now, just got my TWIC and studying for the hazmat as well and definitely looking at Melton. What states do you find yourself running in the most?
Allen Matthew Brown Melissa Young Betty
Your content is awesome love the sense of humor 😂
For that bad ratchet, take a bungee hook it on to the hole and pull it towards the rear of the trailer. Hook it under the underside of the trailer. I have a trailer with that same issue that fixes the problem temporarily. Therefore, you can at least use the ratchet meantime.😅😅
The OTR life wasn’t for me, if anyone is interested in making great money and staying local try and get a concrete mixer job
What mic and camera do you use?
@@PrimePerspectivee dji pocket 3 with the mic that comes with it 👍
I applied at Melton and found your channel doing searches. You have a well thought out system and its great. Keep it up. 👍
@@rpd97 I appreciate your feedback 😁and thanks for watching!! Good luck with your application, melton needs the drivers
I worked for Melton years ago. I really liked it until i fell off of the load of pipe going from Tulsa to Canada. When i got back from Canada, i could barely walk. I had to call flatbeding quits, and I made good money with Melton.
Nice video
@@TazhumgChennai thanks for watching 🙂
great company horrible job
Considine Route
Dang I thought prime inc was the only diamond status members every month lol great video! I often wish I would have gone flatbed instead of reefer at prime
That was B.S how that guy told you appointment only. I work at a Lumber yard and I see your company come in by us at times. No matter who it is we alway unload you as fast as we can because I know you guys only get paid by the load or miles. In and out. No appointments We respect drivers. You make this country run. Keep on trucking and drive safe brother Great video God Bless you.
Agreed. Total bs attitude. He sees a young guy and thinks he can intimidate him with his macho attitude.
It was really cool meeting you at the Tulsa terminal tonight get some rest and keep making videos!
@@JuniorsbigWorld yooo likewise brotha, I’ll see you out there again and thanks for watching 🙏🏾
you only needed 9 straps for that load new jack
@@batman6749 thanks Batman 😆
Congrats on being very professional in a very unprofessional/confrontational situation. Blessings to you on your extended journeys !!!
@@MIv-g6l I try my best, thanks for the comment and I send my blessings right back! 🙌

keep the videos coming brother. Going to CDL school here in 2 weeks and Melton is who I hope I end up driving for.
That’s awesome, good luck and can’t wait to see you on the road!
Dope video man, should do how you prep food over the road and how you get it. God speed.

@@Dwaynebaileymusic absolutely facts, thanks for the comment Dwayne ✌️
Once you create a system for yourself, it’s a breeze. A workout nonetheless though.
Flatbed for how much a mile .50 CPM ?
@@Issa_Alkubi 52 cents starting, then it goes up from there.
@@michaelthomas7408 Do they pay bonuses for tarping the load?
Chase! This video was great! How's it going? I've felt so encouraged to hear how you're doing this to save to finish flight school. I wish I wasn't so scared of flying pr I'd also apply. I loved my discovery flight. I'm 26, and now I'm trying to figure out what my next goal/step is, as for the longest time, it was to have a stable remote job. Now, I think I'm going to chase my dreams of acting. It's about to get messy af
You’ll never regret chasing your dreams is my belief 😊, you got this. How long have you been into acting? Things are going good over here, always busy with melton which is great so I can’t complain 😁
@@michaelthomas7408 I've actually dabbled in acting since middle school, so around 14 is when I started. What excites me the most is the adrenaline rush that comes with performing. I would also get this by being cast in a reality TV show, as that is its own performance. If there's something I realized, it is that it's important to constantly create movement around oneself. I'm in the best shape I've ever been and only getting better. Also getting my nose done this year. Movement! That's good! How long have you been out on the road? Have you taken home time?
Very helpful man I’m heading out next week and was getting pretty anxious as to what to expect
@@haydenhoffman5077 I know the feeling, you got this though👍
Wait until you have to tarp a full load in Houston, tx
Finally posted
More to come soon 😁thanks for watching 🙌
Excellent breakdown. I am looking at most likely going to melton after CDL training. Do you have the option of paying extra for your own room at the hotel? Also, can you take your own vehicle to drive to orientation?....that bus ride looks pretty sketchy....lol.
See you there!!
And thankfully my father has over 20 years of experience to teach me what he knows
👍
In a month I will be leaving Germany, and go to Chicago to get my CDL. I have no idea how it will go but I will do my best.
It’s will go great just believe in yourself
@@briany8394 thank you sooo much ☺️
You got this!! You will succeed 🙌
A tthe Hampton Inn in Catoosa, waiting to get my truck (Melton). Got off my trainer's truck Wednesday. I'm from L.A. I recognize the 710, man 5:00 pm = a nightmare. Thanks for posting, your videos are one of many that influenced my decision to choose Melton.
@@TheEducatedTrucker-wv9hp congratulations on completing driver training because we all know how hard that can be. That’s exciting news getting your own truck is the best day. Ya the 710 was awful 😆. That last sentence means a lot, thanks for watching 🙌
How the weekly checks looking like? If you don’t mind, obviously. An average gross would be nice to hear!
@@Hasib7 for me personally once everything is balanced out I’m making over 1250 a week. That’s the average but I’m making a bit more than that now
@@Hasib7 I also have my TWIC, Passport, and hazmat endorsements and it helps get more loads.
Thanks for the reply, very insightful. I don’t have any of those 😂
@@Hasib7 they are totally worth it and melton will pay you back after 3 Months

The Smith system is real. Ues it dont forget it. I've uesed it for 10 years to massive success. Not gonna lie and say I've never hit something. But uesing the Smith system while driving have never failed me. Been flatbed for 10 years now. Good luck!
@@LuckyFoxes789 thanks for the advice, will definitely keep using the smith system 🙂
Salute bro just found your channel 🤣🤣 Welcome to the trucking fraternity... Crazy how times flies when your new... I'm almost at my 2 yr mark... doing oversized loads and securing heavy equipment in Florida... Keep trucking and be safe out there..
Time is definitely flying, glad to be in the fraternity :) Oversized sounds fun, how do you like it? Also thanks for watching!
How’s the pay
its pretty good for me, I would say average around 12-14 a week once you average everything out.
Start Orientation With Melton Monday!! wish me luck! love the videos!
How did orientation go?
@@michaelthomas7408 great !!
Melton was the first company I started with 6 yrs ago
Very good🎉
just tip talk to the fork truck driver and ask him if he can tell you when its the batch he is loading and ask if you can put the tarps on that before he puts it on the truck then you don't have to muscle the tarps up there. stay safe out there
It was nice meeting you today in Long Beach. Hope you reach your goals. Stay safe driver
It was nice meeting you too, I appreciate your kind words!!! Stay safe out there.
Why the hair test, what are they looking for.
Any girls in your class?
In my class there was not but I have met a handful of women driving and I’ve also seen a few commenting on our Facebook group so there’s definitely some out there.
First cdl job I had was doing flatbed hauling steel & metal for a company called coastal aluminum…LOCAL gig, now that was a physical job I had 15-20 stops a day no moffet so you can imagine during the rainy season that tarp was coming on and off the trailer ALOT. It was a freaking workout, left after a year lol now I’m running ⛽️ tankers. Not as harsh on the body but still as active.
Wow Tarping multiple times in a day is rough, glad you made it through. I hear a lot of people like driving tankers! How do you like it?
That bus driver is still there driving fast and she doesn't care about what anyone says about the way she drives. Nice lady though.
She standing on business 😂 I’m driving fast and nobody gone change nothing (type energy)😂
