What not to do to a water pump. Too much and the wrong type of silicon. You don't need any if it's done the right way.

Just spend the last 8 dollars of your stimulus check and buy a gasket. The tube of silicone probably cost more than the gasket. And I agree, 3 days tops and that fuckers leaking.

First of all silicone is garbage and yes that's way too much you draw a small line and you smear it with your finger tip and try using permatex ultra grey it doesn't make an ugly ass orange mess all over the place and it actually seals s*** the first time

Using the gasket it came with would’ve been the only thing needed , once antifreeze comes in contact with rtv you will forever have a leak

Bro that is wayyyy too much gasket maker. That’s all going to squish out, half outside, the other half into your water pump. Going both sides of the bolt holes is gnarly too
