First ride - EggRider on Radrunner EU version

Well, its a small (5m x 2m) flat bottom boat so its not as stabel as a keel boat. It will rock if moving around inside while its still. It has high sides so never feels unsafe though.
It seems i cant have one cat as indoor and another as outdoor? Is there a fix for this?
@@Prumpproductions The model I have doesn't scan the cat tag when going out. So you can't stop a specific cat from leaving the house while allowing another to go through. Think they sell an upgraded version of the cat door which can do this. It's called Dual Scan.

@@pboperations you need the hub in order to manage the pet door with your phone. Without the hub you can't use the app.

Does anyone know if this bike is road legal in the UK please?
In its stock version, it was when UK was part of EU. Don't think that has changed. Unfortunately, Rad Power Bikes doesn't sell their bikes anymore in Europe (except refurbished).
Does the USB C cable you show into the back of the unit come in the box or just the adaptor ? Thanks
Yes, the USB C cable comes in the Kenwood box as well as the adapter to USB A. The cable I connected to the USB A adapter is a special cable, I got from the ARS24 retailer to connect the head unit to the USB harness in my car. This connects the head unit to the USB A plug I have as standard in the dash of my Suzuki Jimny
@@BornToGetBusy Great thank you
Hi, I see you’ve been using the Unit for about two months now. How do you find it so far? Is it of good quality overall? I’m particularly curious about the call quality-how does the microphone perform for phone calls? I’m hesitating between it and the Sony XAV-AX6000, so any insights would be really helpful. Thanks
So far so good. Having upgrade from the stock radio, I am most pleased with the improved sound quality (also upgraded the speakers). I run it mainly with wireless Android Auto which works flawlessly. I haven't had that many calls in the car so can't say much about its performance, but it's definitely better than the stock radio. My car is also relatively noisy but haven't had people complain that they couldn't hear me like I had before. The Sony unit also looks like a good option. It looks like the screen resolution is a bit higher than my Kenwood. I'll admit that the screen resolution and user interface is a bit dated. The Sony looks more modern especially it's interface. But then again, my car is old school so I'm not that bothered :)

Ive had this catflap for about 4 weeks now and my cat is still scared of the locking mechanism. Ive tried turning it off getting him used to going in and out, then wedging the flap open with it on. The click is too loud and the range so low that it only unlock when his head is right in, no wonder it scares him. Loads of people complaining of their cats being scared. Sureflap really ought to make this quieter. So far it has been a waste of money.
Our cat is super timid and was scared of the sound in the begining too. But it quickly got used to it. Have you tried taping the flap open and still having the locking mechanism engage? Then the cat can go in/out without bumping the flap but still hear the sound. This might be less scary. Guess it's just a matter of time. It will get used to it eventually. It's need to enter will eventually overpower its fear of the sound which it will realize dosn't cause any hurt.
But why is my driving to 28 kmh and than comes down to 25kmh. Even when the max speed is set to 25!?
@@sinitrip621 hmm... I really don't know. Perhaps a setting issue, tire size maybe. There's a Facebook group for the Eggriderb with a lot of setting discussions. Maybe you can ask there.

Does the curfew mode work well? What happens if it looses connection, does it continue to work or does it get stuck? And if it gets stuck, does it remain open, or will it become closed (potentially locking the cat outside).
@@jorisdaamen4903, that's a good question. Basically, we've never used curfew mode. If we want to keep the cat inside we've closed the door in the hallway instead so the cat can't get to the main door, which has the pet door installed. Always felt the cat would get annoyed/traumatized with a pet door that wouldn't open. And never had the need to keep the cat outside. Why would you keep it out if it wanted to come inside? In any case, a lost network connection doesn't get anything stuck I think. It still remembers the last setting. You just won't get notifications or can change settings. If it loses power (runs out of battery), it will change to open regardless of it's setting.
@@BornToGetBusy Hi, thanks for the response :) That really helps a lot. We dont want to keep the cat outside. Of course it should always be able to get in. So it sounds good that the flap remembers the last setting. We have the manual flap now our cat did not get traumatised. She did try to open the flap for quite some time the first few times it did not open on her. So she did get frustrated a bit. I guess she just accepted it as some sort of magic door now, and just knows to check if it opens or not. If not, shell just start doing something different. But our cat has been quite easy up till now.

Thanks for the Video! Is the adapter from the pump for the holes for both the same?
@@patriciawolfslast yeah, as i remember the pump adapter/noozle is the same for both models.
First off just a quick observation, the Tannus website excludes your 20x4 from the inserts that you "can ride on when flat." Secondly, some youtubers have noticed that after riding on the inserts for a while, they compress to almost completely flat and therefore lose their puncture protection. I'd be interested to see if that is the case for you. Please let us know if the chance ever presents itself.
I've had them on for a few years now and haven't had a flat since. Can't speak as to how they are to ride on when flat cause I never got a flat with them installed. Before adding them I had flats constantly. So I am very pleased.
Do you like the Sandstorm tyres, how long did they last?
Well, the quality of the tire was quite poor with frequent flats. But the bike did go a bit faster and with less noise. Since installing Tannus Tire Armour i haven't had a flat tire so very pleased now. They've lasted quite long now.
DON'T TAKE OFF THE WHEEL! Very simple 2 min job. Much Better vid here - ruclips.net/video/2HqVwA9IePs/видео.html
Hydraulic Brakes are cheap. You get MT-200 kit for 40€ or Deore-6100 kit for 90€. The mineral oil is about 40 cents. Bleeding kit is around 20€ for a good one. The most expensive thing is the Park Tool HBT-1 for 99€, but you don't really need it. You can do it with a cigar cutter and a hammer
What are your eggrider settings?
I actually never went into my settings nor have I changed anything. It was all set up out of the box from the shop: biggamebikes.com/product/eggrider-v2-bluetooth-ebike-display/ Not sure if that's optimal but it's worked for me.
Hi I’m looking at the UK version and just want to know if you can still ride the bike without having to pedal all the time? I can’t seem to find if this is a US version feature only or if all the Rad Bikes offer this. I don’t want to buy the bike if I have to pedal 100% of the time. Sometimes I may want to sit back and let the bike do the work for me. Can you clarify this does or doesn’t offer this please? Thanks
I assume the UK version is the same as EU. In that case, you can't ride without pedalling all the time, except if you install the Eggrider. This allows you to sit back and use the throttle to full speed. Technically this is not legal as this makes the bike more like a moped. In stock the throttle is capped at 5 km/h. Check out my video on the Eggrider to see more: ruclips.net/video/MuWQipMrt4I/видео.htmlsi=JyF79_xmI7mxGPVs
@@BornToGetBusy no way!! That sucks. Literally purchased it last night after looking at all the reviews on YT. Then only to realise we get the dulled down version of the bike here in the UK . Most likely going to cancel the order now tbh. I’ll look at the eggrider you mentioned but still think I’ll just cancel and call it a day. So disappointed as I had also purchased tons of accessories too. Appreciate the clarification.
@@co5taP Well, I still think it's a good bike. As for the features, that's just the rules here. You won't find another e-bike which is much different unless you look at speed pedelecs. Though I think none allow you to ride without pedalling. As mentioned that's basically a moped. And they'll stop selling Rad bikes in Europe soon. The Eggrider is a great upgrade and plug play. Will transform the bike. Check out Big Game Bikes in the UK which is where I bought it.

I have an mate x 250w without throttle. The speed is locked at 25k/h. The eggrider v2 gonna work? Thanks
Well, the Eggrider is not really for increasing speed. However, it should increase your torque as long as you program it to fit your Mate. Google it and you'll find people who have installed it on a Mate.
@BornToGetBusy I already did without any concrete answers. Thank you for your reply 🙏🏽
*Nice Job!*
the controller for my bike
This is not a controller. It slots into the diplay plug and connects to the existing controller. Google Eggrider for more info.
how can I get it for my bike ?
Well, depending on what bike you have you can order online...
I have the same bike and I put the new display and it marks 19.5 miles I don’t know why I will connect the original I will like to get that display . Can you help me with it .
Not sure what you mean?
How long did it take to come
Well, it's been years since I installed it. But it came quite quickly. A week or so.
So this unlocks the speed, only by changing the display?
Well, the speed is only slightly increased. It mainly changes the torque and unlocks max power throughout the speed range. It also lets you use the throttle for full speed and not just to 5 km/h.
О, именно такой обзор был мне нужен! Спасибо большое, все очень подробно!
Great video 👍
This looks awesome. Does it really works on the standard EU Radrunner 2 with the simple controller? I have this simple comtroller like you're showing in your video, also the radrunner 2, but I'm not sure which battery it works for. Mine is the YT 48132-QB-E being 48V 14 Ah / 672Wh When using the throttle now, my motor only helps starting but does not excelerate to max speed. Will mounting the Eggrider really do the sames as in your video?
I don't think it matters which battery you have. The controller should be the same on the two bikes. As far as I know only the display is different so it should work. But check with the supplier to confirm.
what’s the range kill using it though
Hmm... depends a lot on how you ride it. I always ride at max assist. Also did before the Eggrider. I guess I lost about 25-30% of range. But I don't mind as the ride is much more enjoyable.
Have you ever been stopped by police since you've had the Eggrider? Because now you're no longer EU conform. I've been seriously thinking about getting one, but I'm not sure if the authorities are wise to it.
Nope, never been stopped at all. It's not obvious that I have the Eggrider. I never ride just with throttle which would be a give away and not legal. There are two modes so if you ever were to be stopped you could just switch modes.
What tires are those
Sandstorm tires: www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07X8Q32J6. They suck big time and got a flat several times until I installed Tannus tire armour. Haven't had a flat since.
You can unlocky 32 km/h with the original display/controller. The eggrider seems awfully expensive considering how small even the display is.
I doubt you can but please share instructions for how to do that on a EU version Radrunner 1.
@@BornToGetBusy7 months later and the guy still hasnt posted his answer. Safe to assume its bs lol
NICE ONE
Good video. If you changed back to the old display, would the basic settings of the eggrider stay programmed in the controller?
Good question. I haven't tested it so no idea but I kind of doubt it. In either case it wouldn't let you access the same settings.
Hello, can you peddle and use the throttle with this Eggrider? Or only the throttle?
Yes you can. But why would you use both at the same time? I usually start with throttle to get moving and then pedal once up to speed. At max pedal assist you can't pedal faster than the throttle. Your legs just spin around with no resistance. Check out my other video.
Hi. I bought the same kayak on Ali, but "solar marine 312". this is a complete copy of the aquamarine, but it has only one place for the fin. it is not enough. I bought a second fin separately from the sup board. in your version, this is already provided from the factory, so I correctly came up with such a solution. It's a pity that the manufacturer didn't make railings and fasteners for fishing rods. I bought a handrail and a cable, and glued it myself. I also glued 4 fasteners with plastic rings to fix things. what is on the nose in the form of an elastic cord - for attaching swimming trunks)) in expeditionary sea inflatable kayaks are self-draining along the sides, and there are a lot of them, there are only 2 points here. and low balloons, small waves easily sweep over the side. do you swim only in warm weather? autumn / spring on cold, but calm, water do not swim on it? I bought it for myself for sea rock fishing. how do you feel about the inflatable keel? some use noodles to form the keel of soft bottom kayaks))
Hi. Nice to hear you were able to add some customizations to make it fit your requirements. As for my use, I only use it in the summer and near shore. Basically, I consider these kayaks to be more of a toy. So the stability, self-draining etc. fits my expectations. I wouldn't go on any expeditions with these kayaks, especially in cold weather :) That's also why I haven't been so concerned with self draining. However, in my experience, I don't think it works that well in these kayaks. For my use, its more of a toy to be used in summer for water activities.
@@BornToGetBusy I absolutely agree with you)) in fact, this kayak is like a sap board with inflatable sides. but the fish swims at any time, and you want to catch it not only in summer) why did I ask about self-watering - our fishermen wear swamp pants-overalls, or dry wetsuits, and swim at any time of the year, in calm water. I don't really like the low seat, I put an intex inflatable pillow under it, I just don't want to sit on a flat floor. in general, I am happy with the kayak, but 312 is short, 412 is probably more convenient, but if you swim alone, then it is quite long. aquamarine is probably the best among inflatable kayaks. this is if the kayak is not entirely drop-stich
@@BornToGetBusy It's a pretty expensive toy then, cause the version for two persons is mostly around 700e in Europe. Do you know, is this material more durable than in something like Intex Excursion Pro? Cause if it isn't, I than it really is a very expensive toy.
@@loonaya I haven't seen the Intex so can't really say. But I would guess both are similar. And yes, I would consider both toys.
Николай, на воду не опускали еще? как он в деле? и что за фокус с плавником который нельзя поставить после накачки ?
hello, What is the maximum speed you can get with this the eggrider on a radrunner?
Well, for the EU version of the Radrunner, the Eggrider dosn't give a whole lot more speed. I guess it went from the stock 25km/h to about 28/29km/h. The main improvement is in constant max torque especially up hills and the throttle working constantly. This alone makes the bike feel much more capable than without the Eggrider even though the maximum speed is not that much higher. Note that it's probably illegal to have the Radrunner go much faster depending on your country as its not classified as a moped/speed pedelec and could also cause insurance issues in case of an accident.
there is a difference between construction material between both without taking into account the floor?
No, besides the floor I don't think there is any difference.
Where did you get those cool tyres ?
I got them off Amazon: www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B07X8Q32J6 They are of poor quality and I had frequent flats so was looking to change but after I installed Tannus Amour, I haven't had a flat. I will upload a video of the installation of Tannus soon.
Not thar much different from the Canadian version speed wise with eggrider on but you can definitely hear the difference in power of the motor. Thanks for doing this it's interesting to see the before and after of EU controllers with the egg rider... if anyone has a non display Rad in the EU this upgrade is a no brainer- do it and what a world of a difference
