i enjoyed quite a lot of this if it still didn't leave me asking about for what reason would we need to "go back to the past" and then back to the present, just so that entries 14 and 15 end up belonging to gaster even though presumably Alphys took over after entry 8? are they just coincidentally different experiment entries, meaning we're missing exactly half of alphys' entries (i.e. we don't know what alphys' entries 1, 2 and 3 are like), and half of gaster's entries (i.e. we don't know what gaster's entries 9, 10 and 11 are like)? if so it's definitely a bit of a stretch.

I'm actually sad how much hate this theory has, like it is just a theory, theories are made for fun

I like that theory a lot, except the last part with golden flowers. Because there is can be other explanation for why there are so many flowers. One of the entries says that the seeds stick to your hands and therefore it is inconvenient to work with them. If we assume that they do not become sticky because of determinants that was injected into them, then a simpler picture arises: After Asriel put Chara on the flowers, their seeds stuck to their body and Asriel's hands, so when he came back with Chara in his arms (presumably to the throne room) and crumbled into dust, then, along with his dust and the fallen body of the human, the seeds of golden flowers from the village scattered. That's why there are so many golden flowers now and most of them are covered with Asriel's dust. That's the secret. (I also like to think that Alphys followed Gaster's notes so meticulously that she took the same first grown flower as Gaster and when she thought nothing worked out, she put it back in the same way, but that's just me)

i hope toby sees this, it's one of the only theories that has this much enough work put into it and evidence behind it to where it actually makes sense, unlike a lot of other videos like this. Good job!

It's worth noting that if you're missing steps for True Pacifist and you spare Flowey at the end of a neutral run, when they credits are over he'll actually give you a hint on what to do next. This video helped me realise that the Pacifist ending isn't "I saved the world by being super nice", but it's actually "Flowey manipulates you into getting as many souls into one place as possible so that he can definitely win this time"

I think Entry 5 disproves this; it's written in normal case, yet it mentions there being a blueprint for a machine to extract determination from human SOULs. This necessitates there having been a prior Royal Scientist who worked on that sorta thing, and there's no good candidate for one of those before Gaster.

A few questions I have about this particular theory, plus one comment: 1. If DETERMINATION was determined to be a dead end in Gaster’s day, why would Alphys keep working with it? If she read Gaster’s logs, wouldn’t she know it wouldn’t work? If she didn’t read Gaster’s logs, wouldn’t Asgore still have mentioned to her something like “oh by the way DETERMINATION doesn’t work so focus on the other power(s) of the SOUL”? 2. This kind of ties into one of my previous questions, but if Alphys did read Gaster’s logs, wouldn’t they have tipped her off to at least the _existence_ of Queen Toriel? And the comment is this: while I’ll admit I’m not exactly Alphys’ biggest fan myself, I feel like you kind of did her dirty. She is, like you said, _kind of_ a fraud, but she clearly has real scientific talent. She managed to turn Frisk’s archaic phone that couldn’t even text into one that can access the Undernet, tap into INTERDIMENSIONAL STORAGE, turn into a JETPACK, and alter the properties of Frisk’s very SOUL. Overall I respect the clear amount of research that went into this, and I gotta say that realizing Flowey was imitating Papyrus in that phone call genuinely blew my mind. I just think that this theory as it stands, while good, definitely has some holes that could stand to be patched up.

Why are we assuming Gaster vanished before the Queen left? The writing styles are not different people, it’s clearly showing Alphys’s changes in her emotion and experience.

21:00 Entry 22: I think W.D Gaster was nearly killed by the Amalgamates, who activated the De-Termination extractor ON W.D Gaster. During this experiment, which involved trying to get the Amalgamates to a suitable state, one that will not horrify their families, or anything for that matter. W.D Gaster’s plan was to extract SOME of the De-Termination from the Amalgamates until they weren’t Amalgamates, but still fully-fledged Monsters. This is all due to the evidence I have found.

this kinda makes me sad, but i learned an important lesson. what is that lesson you ask? i have no idea. i just know that its somewhere inside of me that means something to me. the reason why i think its sad is because 1. i was hoping to find a cool yt channel from tony to see if he still has a life online(couldnt find anything) 2. i was gonna see if there was a REAL answer to why petscop stopped making videos. Because game theory just explained the references the game had to offer about the real life event. Not what the games entintion/purpose was. Now that i know that all petscop theories are real, and have somekind of timeline in the story. There really is no REAL answer to why petscop even exists. It was a cool ARG that carried through the 2010s. but its just depressing on how petscop stopped because of self doubt, and not knowing that the project would be popular. Jeez, i just hope that another ARG amazing as this one doesnt come out to end. As this one.

i will note that everything papyrus does up to alphys date is in character for him, the phone call is more likely flowey but i believe that papyrus wanted frisk and undyne to be friends, and convincing undyne to trust frisk with the love letter also makes sense, because from papyrus perspective frisk is good at dating so asking them for help would make sense(also this is my opinion, your opinions are as valid as mine)

something else i think should be brought up is that gaster’s entry 17 starts with “ENTRY NUMBER SEVENTEEN” and not “ENTRY NUMBER 17”, possibly implying it’s being spoken and not typed out

"what do you two think?" = the creation of sans and papyrus. they turned up out of nowhere, they "kinda showed up one day." his first iteration, sans, is a success: he has a very, very meta knowledge of how the game/universe works. he has the power to 'see' and control time. he's an incredibly powerful fighter. he knows much of the inner workings of the royal affars. his brother, papyrus, on the other hand, not so much. maybe it's vice versa: maybe papyrus was the first attempt at making a powerful monster capable of freeing the monsters and eradicating the humans, but it failed due to how papyrus navigates the world. his second attempt, however, is successful. sans and papyrus are cloned from gaster; skeletons, sans and papyrus have similar fighting styles, but sans has what's known as a "gaster blaster," in the shape of the determination extraction machine both in the lab and in the shed by his house.

It's possible that entry 1 was written after fallen child has died and Asgore declared war, since it seems like he wasn't sure that another human would come.

The idea that monsters with determination still being around makes me think of the Undyne fight where she refuses to die and is half melted. She obviously had more than average determination. Maybe older monsters are all taller?
